If incase two sequences are not having equal length. Then how can we calculate linear convolution??

Include zero.
For example....
If x1(n)={1,2,3,4,5} and x2(n)={2,4} then after including zero, x1(n) remains the same. i.e. x1(n)={1,2,3,4,5}. But x2(n) will change. i.e.x2(n)={2,4,0,0,0}. That's all

You did from right to left and she did from left to right the calculation. Whose one to follow yourself or her?

Use the concept of signals and systems... first perform u(n)-u(n-5) you will get a discrete signal... take those discrete values and convolute with h(n)....
