while i was watching this vid i got sick of waiting so i busted out my toolkit, opened it up, and to my annoyance i must've dropped it somehow and my battery connector was disconnected. I plugged it back in, and boom. I'm glad your video popped up because it motivated me to get inside the controller :D
My left joycon is the one that’s been giving me the most issues. For months now it’s been on the red battery signal. My switch recognises it when it’s connected but it doesn’t charge. I tried this method and it worked for about 2 seconds, but when it did, it showed the icon to be green and fully charged? After that it quickly went white then decreased back to the red low battery icon. I’m not sure what else to do since my switch isn’t within warranty anymore. Also every time I take the joycon off the switch it tells me it’s on low battery but it never fully dies. Any advice?
No problem, also I would suggest getting a brand new unused toothbrush and gently cleaning out the golden contacts on the bottom of both of the joycons and to also gently brush the tiny golden contacts on the bottom of the switch consoles side rails to clean it for dust and dirt and then when you are done brushing both the controllers and the console you should blow really hard without spitting into the golden contacts on both the joycons and the golden contacts on the side rails of the switch and that should fix any actual dust and dirt interference but if that still doesn’t work then you most likely have a physical problem with it and that will definitely need to be fixed by Nintendo
Nintendo Gaming Box I've tried that after watching this video but unfortunately it didn't fix the issue, I've tried most things I've seen online but none of it is working. I think you're right about something being physically wrong with the switch because I've noticed that the left joycon is a little looser compared to the right, as in I can move it up and down a little while it's attached to the switch. From what I found out that this issue is temporarily fixed if you disconnected the controller then hard restart your switch and then pair it again but if you disconnected it from the switch and reconnect it several times it will go back to doing that

It didn't work :( my joy con registers when I slide it in but it's battery is always red and when take it and hole the sync button it doesn't turn on. So is it dead? And how can make it work again?

You should try taking a new unused toothbrush and brush down the golden contacts on both the joycons and the switch itself if there is a thick build up of dust and dirt it will ruin the electrical connection between the two so I would suggest doing that first

If the golden charge contacts pins on both joycons and the switch console look completely clean and dust free but still give you trouble you may have to get it repaired by Nintendo.
Just subscribed. I have one question. I'm planning to buy Nintendo Switch and sell my current Nintendo Switch Lite but I have one problem. I wanted to transfer all my save data from my cartridge games like Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Super Mario Maker, Super Mario Odyssey etc. but I wont have my source console and target console at the same time. Can I somehow tranfer my save data from cartridge games from source console to my target console if I dont have my source console?
Yeah unfortunately you will need to have either both consoles or a Nintendo switch online subscription in order to back up save data via Nintendo’s cloud service (Note) the cloud service isn’t compatible with all games which is dumb but is the way it works
I think it will be really hard because I have do factory reset to sell console. Will my account and save data still be saved? Is it possible to transfer account and save data without having the console with account and save data you want to transfer on your new console?
My blue joycon won't charge. It still connects to my console. I went to controller settings and fiddled the blue joycon a little bit and it charges but only for a few seconds then it shows red.

The problem is I can’t find the game disc and I seem to have lost it. Is there a way to be able to play the game without buying a new game disc or am I screwed?
It is most likely dirt or dust in the slot where the joycon charges on the switch try cleaning it out with a new unused toothbrush and if that doesn’t work call Nintendo customer support
Brand new switch maybe 5 days old and not much play time, left joy con doesn't connect and if it does, it just disconnects within a few minutes.. never been dropped or anything, no dust nothing...
If your switch has been bought that recently I would recommend taking it back to the store you bought it from and asking for a replacement since it has been such a short time since purchase.
i watched a different video and it didn't say to use a new tooth brush and it didn't say to do it gentle or not and i possibly used an old tooth brush and i shoved it in the nintendo (sorry) I still want to fix it idk how. it charges correctly but it is not clicking in...
Haven't tried this yet but I changed my joycon shells to clear ones.... I think I have either damaged a cable or something else has gone wrong.... It's still connected to console wirelessly but not when it's connected slid on therefore doesnt charge :( I'll have to clean it all up...
Oof I’m sorry to hear that she’ll swaps are hard and unfortunately Nintendo doesn’t cover that in warranty due to your tampering with the product internally
@@nintendogamingbox9178 yeah you're not wrong.... It cost me $50 to fix and have it sent back. Pretty disappointed but I won't be doing another repair job on the joy cons again.. it's too small and parts are fragile :(
I’m so sorry you had to get them fixed, but you could always buy a custom shelled set of joycons on eBay but it’s risky due to the extreme price and the fact that if they break Nintendo would just replace them with stock color joycons so it’s high risk and price and low reward
@@nintendogamingbox9178 if I'm honest.. I got the shells for free... It's the reason why I attempted to swap over... Haha! I guess you learn from mistakes. I'll definitely just leave as is now. Thanks for the replies!
No problem, btw I would love to do a shell swap myself but I’m not good enough to do it either 😂 I’ll just be sticking with stock joycons until they need to be replaced
I wouldn’t recommend using q tips due to that fact that it is really easy for tiny cotton fibers to gets stuck in the contacts of the joycons and switch console and could cause problems when charging
Hey! SO basically my left joycon isn't connecting and it also isn't like connecting to the actual consol. I tried buying another pair of joycons and still it's the same any one know how to fix this?
Ok listen my left joycon wont work unless it's off of the Nintendo so then the other side wont connect to the switch and wont charge and I cleaned it and still wont can you help
If it is still not working after going through all of the cleaning steps you may have some kind of very tiny damage to the golden pins on either the switch console or the joycons or maybe both so I would recommend calling Nintendo customer support for help
If your controller won’t connect wirelessly that is very likely a problem with the Bluetooth signal in the controller being broken or very weak due to damage and I recommend calling Nintendo customer support for help
My right joy con didn’t charged all night and it has very low battery signal with that it could probably work it should I call Nintendo to fix this problem
Did you try using a new unused toothbrush and gently brushing the golden contacts on both of the joycon controllers and the golden contacts at the base of the switch console where the joycons physically connect. Because if you do brush all of those contact points until you see absolutely no dust or dirt it should work, but if it still doesn’t work no matter how thorough of a job you do than it is very likely a physical damage problem for some of the contact points and they will need to be fixed by Nintendo,
I dropped my switch and the left one was still working but wouldn't connect to the switch, on the joycon itself the little three arrow bit at the bottom of the sliding part was dented from the fall, pushed it a bit with my teeth and it worked lol
Nahhh this ain’t workin bruhh this is top thing I’ve tried multiple times now to get my dead right control connected and it’s not working bc it’s dead. Like where’s the fix for the dead controller??
I’m sore to hear you couldn’t fix your controller but this video was not made to show how to fix a broken controller it is for trying to clean out the contacts in order to get it to work if there is a dust build up
Well if the controller is not charging even after cleaning the dust and or dirt out with a new unused toothbrush brush there is probably some physical damage to the golden pin connectors on either the joycon or the switch or even both, you could use a flashlight and look very closely at the gold pins on the bottom of the switch and then on the bottom of each joycon controller
That is usually a problem with the gold contacts on either the console or the joycon itself just get a new unused toothbrush and brush down the gold contacts
Hey if u can see my comment i rlly need help can u tell me why my red Nintendo controller doesnt connect to my switch but it does on other switches but I try another controller but it doesnt connect on my switch
If the console is not accepting or recognizing the joycons when you attach it then the console probably has a problem especially since the controller is working on a different switch
So your problem sounds like to me the be a problem with the contact points on your switch console which would explain why the joycon will not connect to the console when slid on I would suggest getting a brand new unused toothbrush and gently brushing the small space where the joycon would slide in and connect to the console
@@nintendogamingbox9178 i did that i cleaned it around the sides but it wont work i even try a new controller but it wont connect aswell what would u recommend
At this point since nothing else will work you can only really call Nintendo customer support for help and maybe set up a repair if wanted here is the number 1 (800) 255-3700
I don’t think he found a solution it’s been 8 months, if you are having problems with your joycons not charging even after using this video for help you will have to call Nintendo customer support for help
my problem is that the slide thing on the side of the switch is really wobbling and is loose and my new left joy con wont charge and connect to it idk how to fix it
Yes if you lose any switch game card in general you can rebuy please note that you cannot just download it for free if you lose the game card you will have to rebuy it either physically or digitally and it will still retain your save data as long as you haven’t manually deleted it from the system settings

If you want to play the game without the game card you will have to buy it digitally
I dont know why my left joycon isnt attaching to my switch only the right one attaches help plz
It is most likely dirt or dust in the slot where the joycon charges on the switch try cleaning it out with a new unused toothbrush and if that doesn’t work call Nintendo customer support
Can you Help me please? My left Joy Con isn't connecting anymore, and its dead too (it doesnt Charge)
Brand new switch maybe 5 days old and not much play time, left joy con doesn't connect and if it does, it just disconnects within a few minutes.. never been dropped or anything, no dust nothing...
If your switch has been bought that recently I would recommend taking it back to the store you bought it from and asking for a replacement since it has been such a short time since purchase.
can you help me? my controllers charge when it’s not docked but it doesn’t charge when it’s docked help?
i watched a different video and it didn't say to use a new tooth brush and it didn't say to do it gentle or not and i possibly used an old tooth brush and i shoved it in the nintendo (sorry) I still want to fix it idk how. it charges correctly but it is not clicking in...
Will Q-tips work instead of toothbrushes
I wouldn’t recommend using q tips due to that fact that it is really easy for tiny cotton fibers to gets stuck in the contacts of the joycons and switch console and could cause problems when charging
Bro I did it with a brand new toothbrush and now my switch is not turning on
Dust you say so let me just blow it out like an old NES cartridge
Yeah hopefully it works
My right joy on is completely battery drain I cleaned it twice and it still did I charge
Hey! SO basically my left joycon isn't connecting and it also isn't like connecting to the actual consol. I tried buying another pair of joycons and still it's the same any one know how to fix this?
my right consle isnt working i tried the method it didnt work :( please tell me more
If your joycon still isn’t working after watching this video then it could be a physical damage problem and will need to be fixed by Nintendo
my blue phone does not want to turn on it is not found and the diode is also off it does not turn on
Ok listen my left joycon wont work unless it's off of the Nintendo so then the other side wont connect to the switch and wont charge and I cleaned it and still wont can you help
If it is still not working after going through all of the cleaning steps you may have some kind of very tiny damage to the golden pins on either the switch console or the joycons or maybe both so I would recommend calling Nintendo customer support for help
Looks like Im the only one that cant get this fixed.:)
I HAVE A QUESTION. I HAVE OCTO EXPANSION FOR SPLATOON BUT HOW DO I USE IT WHEN I HAVE THE GAMECARD
You go onto the game and press x when in inkopolis square and there will be an option to go to the octo expansion dlc when installed
Please help my right controller will not connect wireless I updated and it still will not connect
Thank you keep it up 🥰
👍😁
My detach button is missing and it is ded and idk wat to do
My right joy on won't connect to my tv when I am playing fifa with my dad
My right joycon doesn’t turn on the light and I can’t connect to my phone pls help❤
Mine isn’t working it’s red and blue my red one on the right is low battery and not working
Did you try using a new unused toothbrush and gently brushing the golden contacts on both of the joycon controllers and the golden contacts at the base of the switch console where the joycons physically connect. Because if you do brush all of those contact points until you see absolutely no dust or dirt it should work, but if it still doesn’t work no matter how thorough of a job you do than it is very likely a physical damage problem for some of the contact points and they will need to be fixed by Nintendo,
Awesome
Thank you
Thank you
I dropped my switch and the left one was still working but wouldn't connect to the switch, on the joycon itself the little three arrow bit at the bottom of the sliding part was dented from the fall, pushed it a bit with my teeth and it worked lol
I did this however the controllers would only start charging for a split second then disconnect
Oof I’m sorry to hear that, the only thing you can do at this point if nothing is working is to call Nintendo customer support
Nahhh this ain’t workin bruhh this is top thing I’ve tried multiple times now to get my dead right control connected and it’s not working bc it’s dead. Like where’s the fix for the dead controller??
I’m sore to hear you couldn’t fix your controller but this video was not made to show how to fix a broken controller it is for trying to clean out the contacts in order to get it to work if there is a dust build up
@@nintendogamingbox9178 broken? It’s not broken. It needs to be charged.
I was looking for a solution for that and not here just wipe it around
Well if the controller is not charging even after cleaning the dust and or dirt out with a new unused toothbrush brush there is probably some physical damage to the golden pin connectors on either the joycon or the switch or even both, you could use a flashlight and look very closely at the gold pins on the bottom of the switch and then on the bottom of each joycon controller
My left joycon is still not charging after
It didn’t work for me because I can’t use a tooth brush
Mine says its battery is depleted and it won't charge, what do I do? (Please don't reply if you don't know :) )
That is usually a problem with the gold contacts on either the console or the joycon itself just get a new unused toothbrush and brush down the gold contacts
It didn't work someone help me please 😭😭😭
I’m sorry to hear that. It may be a physical problem instead of just dust inside of the contacts
This method doesn’t work my Nintendo switch is still not working
Then it might be a physical problem with the console, which in that case you should try calling Nintendo customer support for solutions
@@nintendogamingbox9178 thank u so much but can u explain the problem plz
So your problem sounds like to me the be a problem with the contact points on your switch console which would explain why the joycon will not connect to the console when slid on I would suggest getting a brand new unused toothbrush and gently brushing the small space where the joycon would slide in and connect to the console
@@nintendogamingbox9178 i did that i cleaned it around the sides but it wont work i even try a new controller but it wont connect aswell what would u recommend
At this point since nothing else will work you can only really call Nintendo customer support for help and maybe set up a repair if wanted here is the number 1 (800) 255-3700
I bought the octo expansion dlc but I have the gamecard, how can I play the dlc
You can still play digital content with a physical game card you just download the dlc then insert the game card load up the game and go play the dlc
Yeah I contacted Nintendo turns out I had the European version of the gamecard and bought American dlc problem resolved thanks for help
No problem 😁👍
I did not work my left joystick won’t charge or turn on
Did you find out what the solution was I'm on the same position as you
I don’t think he found a solution it’s been 8 months, if you are having problems with your joycons not charging even after using this video for help you will have to call Nintendo customer support for help
It doesn’t work I’m really mad bc it’s dead but works connected to the console but off of it it doesn’t
That may be a problem with the battery in the joycon that can’t hold a charge and is relying on the power coming directly from the console itself
My right joy con will not turn on even with this method
It did not work I have watched so many videos and nothing is working
It most likely is a physical damage problem then. And I would suggest calling Nintendo customer support for help
What if my controller died and will not charge
Then it will most likely need to be fixed by Nintendo
@@nintendogamingbox9178 I got a charger station for them to charge
If the charge station doesn’t work then try attaching them to the console
@@nintendogamingbox9178 my set up was made worng so they won’t charge so I wana see if the station worksp
You should at least try charging them through the switch console
69th sub lol
It didn't work I've been trying to fix it all day
MY touch screen does not work
That is a problem Nintendo will have to fix
It’s still not working for me
I’m sorry to hear that I would suggest calling Nintendo customer support for help
Didn't work for me.
bro my right controler wont even work
If your right joycon isn’t work no matter what you try then it may be a defective battery problem and I would send it to Nintendo for repair
@@nintendogamingbox9178 ok thank you
No problem 😉
Bruh it's still not working😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😢😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
So it did not work
not working 😢
Still not working 😭
Then it is probably a physical problem and not just dust
my problem is that the slide thing on the side of the switch is really wobbling and is loose and my new left joy con wont charge and connect to it idk how to fix it
Mine has no dust.
Then it is probably some kind of physical damage to the inside of the stick
My nintentodo won't charg or conect
That definitely needs to be fixed by Nintendo for that kind of problem
Hey if I lose my game cartridge for Zelda can I download the online version from the Eshop?
Yes if you lose any switch game card in general you can rebuy please note that you cannot just download it for free if you lose the game card you will have to rebuy it either physically or digitally and it will still retain your save data as long as you haven’t manually deleted it from the system settings
It’s siding work
Still doesn’t work
I’m crying right now it did not work:((
I’m sorry to hear that 😭 you could always try sending them to Nintendo for a free drift repair as long as you are in the US it’s free
I’m getting a new joy con:D it comes in two days
Nice 😊👍
Bro you broke my switch
I’m pretty confused, how would brushing the contacts on the joycons and switch console break it, I regularly clean the contacts on my joycons and switch console and have never had a problem
Mine is not working
Elaborate further please
The joycon is not connecting or working
That is most likely a battery problem and will need to be fixed by Nintendo
Ok thanks
You could always call Nintendo customer support for help on ways to possibly get it fixed if you want that
Hiiiiiiiiiiii
