First, I would say this is the most valuable of the bunch (and hey, the mini-series is good) also remember this came around after the wolvie Origin, Xtreme Xmen, and other comics that did the whole pencils to color stuff, like Ed says is money shot after money shot, beautiful art, I did a review of the whole series on my channel (in spanish tho)
I asked J Scott Campbell about that when I met him at a con long ago. He started doing other things and couldn't keep up. Just like Joe Mad started doing video game stuff and just never got back to comics. Only does covers here and there.
JSC on Thundercats as one of his last interior art jobs is crazy to think, but such was the power of that early 2000s cartoon nostalgia. I'd definitely cast a vote for you to cover the Ed McGuiness miniseries (which sadly has some fill-in art.)
Yes, more Thundercats with McGuinnes (sp?) and more Campbell in general! I loved the Dangergirl look through of issue 1 and would like a look through the rest of the issues or even Wildsiderz. Yup, with a Z. I think his storytelling is underrated and he always put a lot of work into each page. He was on a stream with Dan Panosian and few other artists and talked about how he put so much into them and no one would seem to care and just fly through the issue. That’s why he stopped doing them.
I saw these original pencils at SDCC a long while back, they were so tight they didn't need inking. No extraneous marks anywhere. The book was already out by then I think, so it probably was digital inking.
As a fan of the cartoon I loved the Thundercats comic revival. Especially because of the work of Campbell and McGuinness. Too bad it only lasted a year or two. The last Thundercats comic was from a couple of years ago with a Masters of the Universe crossover.
I remember that years like the final era for the boom Image creators, the final days of the success of all the Image members, but we didn't know for sure. I think this Thundercats comic it's a great job for J.Scott Campbell and Ed Macguinness. Maybe it was the last work as a comic penciller for Campbell, after this, he never draw a complete series for a long long time.
Campbell could have been one of THE best of all time. His interiors really were that good when he was on his game. It's a shame he couldn't hack it and became a cover artist. He could've had some epic runs on any book he would've wanted I'm sure. At least being a cover artist pays his bills, which is good for him. I don't buy his stuff, but he's fine without my money. This was a nice look back on those days when he put out some great work.
The drawing is solid but when you have characters on the same page bursting out of the panels multiple times on the page, it makes for a confusing read.

Just here to say, that this is a great channel to draw comics to. Thanks dudes.
There’s a later Wizard issue with a “Last Man Standing” featuring He-Man vs. Lion-O drawn by Ed McGuiness.
Wildsiderz was never completed. It was solicited as a 5 issue mini with a #0 issue and they only ever realeased issues 0, 1 & 2.

I'm not a Thundercats guy, but I'd love to see you guys look at some Ed Mcguiness stuff.
Love that Somebody chose to make the action lines light

I love that art..please do more Thundercats.
Hell yeah, more ThunderCats!

Did you guys know that legendary News Paper cartoonist Leonard Starr (Mary Perkin's On Stage, Little Orphan Anne) wrote Thundercats?
Whoa! Really? Very intersting..!

Please do a whole series on the 80's revival in comics during the early 2000s

Pretty sure I picked up the Ed McGuiness issue 1 in the 25 cent bin
You guys gotta look at Wildspiderz!
? Is that a Spiderman multiverse comic or something 😂
11:41 I was a mark for them all Ed. Dug the Masters of the Universe Icons of Evil prequel books the most.
How much would it cost for a J Scott Campbell cover for your comic book? Does anyone know? Brett Booth charges $9K.
It sucks that he stopped doing sequential art.
