    Interesting to know how it's done and now I realise why the repair shop wants to charge so much. I alas won't be doing this myself. Excellent tutorial.

    YAY, Yay, yay Anastasia... I have 6 pairs of expensive suit pants bought 25 years ago.
    To replace them would cost in excess of $300 dollars each. Local tailor shops do not return
    calls or emails. So why not buy a nice sewing machine and do it myself, I Did. The results are amazing.
    By the way, I'm a fussy 78 year old man who likes nice fitting clothes. . . just saying

    Thank you for this tutorial! I didn’t realise I lost weight for months and was still buying pants in my old size, so I sort of have a bunch of really nice pants that don’t fit properly. I don’t have a sewing machine so I was thinking of doing it really carefully by hand. Might take a while but it’s probably worth it.

    Awesome video. I learned to sew in a bachelor survival class in HS. We made my wife a really well equipped sewing room with great work surfaces and machines (minus a serger). At work I wear 5-11 Tactical Pants which the fit is so random and I hate them to be to baggy in the seat. I think this video will give me confidence to tackle taking a few of the ill fitting pairs of them up. Thanks so much for such a video with such clear and detailed instructions.

    I got a pair of plaid pants from H&M and I love their baggy nature, which I would love to replicate in other materials. Is cloning pants easy enough?

    • @SewAnastasia
      @SewAnastasia  Год назад +6

      Great question…… it’s easy if you understand how pants are made…. I would trace them out with a pinwheel & always measure the garment & your pattern to double check measurements & don’t forget your seam allowance. Happy sewing & pattern making .

    Is there a maximum number of inches you'd say pants could be reasonably taken in? Also, it would be cool to see a video on how to do cargo pants or pants that have those hidden pockets along the side seams of the pant legs (if you're looking for ideas).

    • @SewAnastasia
      @SewAnastasia  22 дня назад +1

      @@aaronagostini7377 probably 2-3 inches. It really depends on how they were made. You don’t want the back pockets to meet so as long as that’s not happening you should be good. I do have a video on cargo pockets. You can check that out here.Cargo Pocket Sewing Tutorial With Sewing Pattern!

    Great Vid and really nice pants. Would love to find some cloth like that. However what if your pants don't have any extra fabric to take in? I have some golf pants that are about 1.5 inches to small in the waist and I wonder if I can put some elastic or something to get them buttoned up. Thanks. I am a new sewist. I've got to try this. I've lost quite a bit of weight from illness and i have so many beautiful pants that now look like clown pants. Taking them in for alteration would cost a small fortune. Question. If there's a significant amount of material that needs to be removed, wont that make pockets or faux pockets on the seat become too close together? Is there something else that needs to be done if that's the case? Great video. Thanks.

    • @SewAnastasia
      @SewAnastasia  7 месяцев назад

      If your pockets are getting too close together at the back seat you can take in fabric on your side seams. Happy sewing.

    When it comes to the waist part can’t you just use your chalk to draw a line on both sides?
    Think it be easier than using a roll ruler then you know exactly where to go cause you might be off if you use a ruler? I think I’d stick with using chalk for the measurement because then you know exactly where are you you need to sew by bringing them together

    • @SewAnastasia
      @SewAnastasia  Год назад

      Hi, you only need to chalk one side & I used the rulers to true up the pin/chalk marks on the same side I chalked. Hope that makes sense. Happy sewing!
