I had a run license so I was responsible for a crew of technicians that tested engines after a major component replacement or when a new engine came in to us. No hush house in those days but they did make most of our work far away from the base housing.

Anyone know why most of these folks are not wearing eye protection (maintenance portion of video)? Is there an operational reason? In many similar civilian operations, eye protection is absolutely required to maintain employment (if not being utilized, then typically two warnings and then termination of employment on the third occurrence).
Those are NOT Pratt and Whitney, those are GE Aerospace engines.
*I wonder if 2 or 4 Jet engines could push an aircraft carrier? It would be kewl to watch either way.* 🤔
