I saw a video of Ford in a huge City Council meeting where he was talking about separate bike lanes, or protected lanes. These are bike lanes that are separate from car lanes by a short wall/ barrier. I think that’s a better idea, it protects the bikers from a car possibly swerving over and accidentally hitting someone. I’ve seen it in a lot of different places and it’s the best thing, bikes are protected and cars don’t have to worry about hitting someone and they don’t have to share a lane with something that doesn’t go as fast as them, it’s a win win situation for all. Protected bike lanes for all!!
Lincoln assassination symbolism. Here's the other, Woods Dad was a hitman who posed as the tall one of the three tramps photographed in Dealey Plaza Nov 22
I have never missed a federal, provincial or city election in my life and I am 70 years old. It is our civic responsibility to get out there to vote. It is not like it happens every day and for the ones that don't, they should be fined and make it a large fine.
Rather than a Harrelson character, I think I associate Rob Ford with one of Woody's co-workers on the film "Natural Born Killers", the fat father, butcher, and not so smart or tough guy despite his talk. That's a character that would lend itself to a Ford portrayal.
@dannymaclamp Since all you could think of was The Border (which, despite it not counting you as a fan, lasted for 3 seasons and has been sold to markets all over the world), here's a list of excellent & popular CBC shows: Being Erica, This Hour Has 22 Minutes, This Hour Has 7 Days, Kids in the Hall, Mr Dressup, Royal Canadian Air Farce, Road to Avonlea, Street Legal, King of Kensington, The Hour, The Nature of Things, Cross Country Checkup, Morningside, Degrassi, Republic of Doyle, Fraggle Rock
How can you be against marijuana legalization when ALL scientific studies point to the fact that it is less damaging than cigarettes, while several years ago a UN report came out saying that alcohol related illness, crime, deaths, etc. cost economies and human lives more than all other drugs combined?
Thank you for this video. I have the utmost respect and admiration for Woody Harrelson. On the other hand, I always thought of mayor Ford as an indolent bully.and now an ill-mannered crackhead who is capriciously holding Toronto hostage using clear mob tactics.
Demetrio Orellana He coached a youth football team, provided uniforms, that is until they made that seem like it was somehow a bad thing and deserved negative press.
He is so ill informed woody. The light rail is falling down. Public housing is never been run right in Toronto and he or his gov't is not putting more money into a bad situation. Mr. Ford has been around Toronto for a long time and is tired of the BS in city hall. He is opened to suggestion most of the time, but he is going to do well. Obviously Mr Woody has taken their points of view with out making his own mind up. I grew up here and lemme tell ya, he is a bright light with vision
Complaint against You tube's new tool bar (Guide) on the left hand side of the screen...hey, we need the option to disable this. It is a real pain to have keep on closing it.
I get your point. In fact it is much harder to quit cigarette than marijuana. Yes, If I could I would illegolize cigarettes as well. But, such thing would turn people smoking something even worse than that. How about alcohol... first of all there is nothing wrong with drinking alcohol. I love wine and liquor. However, there is definitely something wrong with uncontrollable alcohol drinking. I wasn't against marijuana until I learned serious consequences of smoking it.
Say what you want about Rob Ford, but he has saved city of Toronto taxpayers Hundreds, yes Hundreds of Millions of dollars. I beginning to think we need more hard drinking, crack smoking politicians.
Talking about those savings the taxpayers had, where are they now? I still did not get them back to me... or are they for real? Sometimes when I think of these lies he made out of the crack scandal, I wonder what about those savings he has claimed.. are they for real? Really??? Why is his job in limbo right now??? H is not a very good politician at all.. in fact a stupid politician, I must say.
I don't believe he saved the city tax payers money... infact, I never believed him. I can never trust or believe in someone who used crack, who lied and made himself look stupid, esp politicians. No integrity at all...
You can't save taxpayers money unless you physically redistribute taxes to taxpayers or cut taxes down, which from a simple economical perspective ends up costing the average taxpayer in public services, however benefits overly wealthy taxpayers immensely. By that same principle then, you must consider that those millions that were saved probably already came from people that had millions in their pockets to begin with. Now that being said, short term profits say nothing about long term benefits of an economic policy, or the virtues and ethical management of a public office. There's a reason toronto has one of the highest population of homeless, and no it's not cause' they don't want to work, no homeless person will ever tell you that being homeless was career choice for them.
this interview was done in 2011 and Woody was calling out Ford back then. How can all you people defend Ford here in light of what the world has learned about Ford during 2013?
we all got problems, not saying I agree with him or his lifestyle, but I think people identify with someone who has the same issues as them, everyone knows somebody who has an addiction problem. A lot of the time you get fake politicians who are pathological liars and thieves.
I don't know why we are listening to this American guy who likes to get "high". Does he really know anything about the Toronto projects? and how much nicer they are here than in his country? Rob Ford personally goes to the projects and tries to solve problems like plumbing and roaches, and I don't mean marijuana roaches, like woody woodpecker is concerned with. Hah, hah, that was a good one! But seriously, I guess rob is "guilty" of being honest, but who knows what this slimey guy is up to, hahah, another good one
@kilgoretroutcanada How was Ford "engaged with the public in debate" by unilaterally killing Transit City? Check out some of Ford's tantrums here on RUclips from his days as a loud-mouthed city councillor to see how tolerant and capable he is of "debate."
@panelsofDOOM he's raising property taxes by 2.5%, land transfer tax hasn't been cut as of yet....so which taxes have been cut? I sure hope you're not referring to the vehicle registration tax. My definition of fiscal responsibility is trying to grab a hold of debt problems and scale back spending as necessary and he's doing just that!
This is brilliant... I can't stand Blob Ford but I have to agree on one thing with him(only one)... Get rid of the Streetcars... It only clogs the city and create more traffic... We need more subway route... it's the only way for a city growing as fast as Toronto... Toronto is/was the 3rd most livable city in the world is going to go way down on the scale.
A constricted and ego centric mentality leads to problems, an expansive, inclusive and collaborative mentality leads to problems solving. I'd say be the change you wanna see cuz in the end all you have control over is you, and you have a lifetime to fine tune yourself into the best example, so do we all :)
There are still some costs, such as books, housing, etc. Those are paid by the rich students and low income students get them deducted. And the whole model of taxation makes it so that, no, the family making $40,000 a year barely scraping by gets subsidized by those who make 200,000 a year through taxation. Its the same model as the healthcare system in Canada, everyone helps everyone. Also, the income distribution is more equal in France, so that situation would be rare anyways.
So Woody read the Star or spoke to his pals in the Tdot media. Spending beyond our means is suffocating! Good job Rob Ford.
A normal society wouldn't have messes to clean up in the first place. A utopian society would be based on generosity instead of greed and I don't eat until everyone else eats mentality.
He's being very polite but barely tolerating Gohmeshi - and I don't blame him. Harrelson doesn't give a fuck what people think of him ... you'd think Ghomeshi would have gleaned onto that!

***** Agreed. Pot to me is not a drug and should be completely legal. I am comparing these two people and their associated past time. Woody represents pot, Ford represents crack. ***** I actually agree that pot should be legalized, but I just have to point out that there are a lot of horrible substances that are also plants, such as cocaine.
Well it was all natural before I rolled it up. Pulling at strings are we? Guess everything is processed somehow right? Chewing is a process lol. fuck off lol
@PortugueseGina1 "fiscal responsibility," right. Cutting taxes and then complaining about not having the money to pay for services is not responsible. The man can't even live up to any of the nonsense he spewed during his campaign. Where's the gravy Rob?
@curious007cur You mean those "needy" who were downtown disrupting hard working (mostly blue collar) citizens lives and destroying private property? Long term jobs? What kind of car do you drive? Councillors that take your taxes and spend them on idiotic and wasteful things?
I am against alcoholism and cigarette smoking. And I am against marijuana. Why? I've seen with my eyes what is happening to people who take on substances like marijuana. They also mix it with alcohol which make things much worse. The guy went mad in front of me. He tried to kill himself. I with my cousin had to send him to the hospital. He could be dead by now. Do you want such thing happen to you or one you dearly love?
Or, you know, the French just have the right idea of education that actually HELPS the economy and don't believe in driving their students into mounds of debt for the rest of their lives.
@dannymaclamp I gave you a list of excellent CBC shows that is by no means comprehensive. AGAIN, just 'cause you don't like something that's not an argument against public funding for the arts or our national broacaster.
PS: Please do some research on your own, rather than consulting with your 'friends' especially when you compared 'W' with our Mayor. Rob is totally the opposite. Unlike your former President, Rob is the first TO Mayor who has saved TO taxpayers 1bil, yet your 'W' spent 2.3trillion (and that was just the start) of US taxpayers money that was conveniently unaccounted 4. Mayor Ford also backs and helps those less fortunate that people like your's and my Gov't have dismissed and ignored. Woody, I bet if you and Rob could sit down, because you both are very down to earth, REAL people and enjoyed a libation of choice and an intimate discussion together, I'm sure it would be a productive and enjoyable experience. You would most definitely change your tune about him.
That's actually a great idea. fining people if they do not vote... But then again those people may just walk in check the first name they see and leave with no care... We do need new laws of a sort to get people to vote... How about if a political party candidate makes promises and breaks them, then they must present in front of a court judge why they did not honor their campaign promises, mind you exceptions for such things as recessions or other emergency's. Continued.
@Baseshocks So then Ford should take on the unions and not social services. Not sure how your argument has anything to do with the situation that is happening right now. Focus, rethink and try again.
@MegaYapyapyap sheppard line ghost town? have you been here during rush hour i live on don mills, it fills the trains on rush hour for such a small line. no shit other lines have larger crowds they are huge lines, if this line extends to Scarborough town center it gives people of Scarborough a proper system, then you will see the line packed. LRT is a quick fix, they have to flow with traffic lights slow line..... continued.
@dannymaclamp So, you didn't get it. That's valid. But that's not an argument against arts funding. I could name playwrights or authors or filmmakers I don't like, but arguing against arts funding = advocating for a soley (and soulless) commercial arts environment where anything challenging or difficult or controversial will be ironed out in the interest of being palatable and selling more tickets.
@dannymaclamp No, work is when you are performing a task that has VALUE. Whether or how much you are paid is not usually related to how much or hard you work. Just ask a housewife or a Chinese factory worker. The arts, by the way, has LOTS of economic value and supporting them is smart public policy. Look it up -- the return on investment is better than nearly any other sector.
10% cut backs why is it worse? I know guys in the TTC, do you realize how much these maintenance workers fuck around, playing cards on their shit and etc.. TTC union has the city by the balls, he need to tare them apart. We need automated ticket booths like the rest of the world has instead of paying for workers.
Rob ford the greatest mayor in Toronto history RIP
RIP ..ok.... but he was the worst mayor. he should have done something else with his life....for all of our sakes
all I know about him is he has more than enough to eat at home.

We love you Woody !👍🇨🇦❤️👊😎
I would have laughed if Woody Harrelson had said "Mickey Knox" to that last question.
Thank you.
Woody commenting on Rob. Love it. Now I definitely gotta vote for Rob.
Man I love Harrelson, always have

I happen to know he was frequently in the housing project's of the great city of Toronto.
Elect a person and then do not allow him to do the very things he was elected on. The people of Toronto are nuts as is the CBC.
I like Woody Harrelson and I liked the interview! Although Woody might be a bit too laid back person for a well structured interview!
Woody should be running Toronto!

Woody's a righteous dude.
the disdain Woody exhibits towards Ghomeshi is palpable.

3:23 Well said Woody.
his brother randy used to sell wholesale hashish (oz and pounds) (robs bro randy ford)
Woody wanted to get outta there - keeps looking off in distance
perhaps he is refering to the former presidents Ford an Lincoln
