Excellent work Brandon.
Thanks for covering this! Saving $ 70K at the cost of $ 92 MM - our tax dollars at work. Who made the bad call at NJDOT, that is the question. A simple look tells you that the retaining wall design is incompatible with the fill material; the thing had the structural integrity of a sand castle, and the tide came in.
Let me guess. The backfill material, compaction, foundation, and drainage aspects
When dollars speak louder than engineers.
It’s simple we don’t overbuild things anymore. We don’t do what’s right it’s all about greed and how much money. The big companies can make there’s corruption at every level.
In years past the term used to describe what you state was "good enough for government work".
voice almost exclusively on the left channel is an interesting choice
wow! that was so drivers to rebuild on a New Jersey Highway!
i would think a bridge would have been easier to build and maintain. instead of a pile of loose dirt the state didnt install correctly. but, IT'S ONLY TAXPAYER MONEY !!! RIGHT??? no one will lose their job ,so........
Hey do yourself a favor next time get to the point first and then back it up with other aspects. That was borderline rude. What I was trying to say is people's attention spans are very short so if you get to the point sooner and then back hit up with the story it feels more honest
