Rewind to 2007 when I was 19. I had an opportunity to buy one of these and passed because I wanted a crotch rocket. I ended up buying a 636 ninja and loved it, but after 10 years I started thinking about the ZRX I wish I'd bought. I started looking and found a 2005 ZRX in Boise in the Summer of 2017. Bought it, rode it home to Spokane, and never looked back. I love every minute of it. Ivan's jet kit, APE filter pods, black widow exhaust, and ELS 4 degree timing advance really woke it up.
Worry more about the jump in weight than the jump in power. The ZRX is quick but it's very even-handed with the power. Don't get me wrong, the power is there, but it wont surprise you. It isn't jumpy.@@Spartansrule118
A wonderful bike, we had a good one for a number of years. But it's not an "ELR", Eddie Lawson Replica. Those were J-models, an air-cooled engine entirely different than the ZRX. The ELRs were lightly-upgraded KZ1000Js. There's no similarity other than the four-cylinder configuration and the logo on the tank. Even the green color is different. The ZRX is also vastly superior in pretty much every way- I had a J-model and it was a clunker compared to the ZRX.
What happened to this on eBay? I've been looking for it since the day the video came out and I don't think it ever made it to the listings. Did somebody call up and just buy it before it was able to be posted? Thank you.
Another one of my all-time dream bikes. Billy has a gorgeous one.
Wish I'd never sold mine, here in UK they flying up in value
I've got an 01' 1200R. I've never spoken to a single ZRX owner that didn't truly regret selling.@@guybs1977

has it been reliable? what do you think about jumping from a 300cc to this?
