I am 80 years old and I still use the brush rollers. I really enjoy your videos. Brings back so many wonderful memories and things my Mother and Grandmother did and taught me. They were so wise. They experienced so many things that they shared with me to make my life better. I am so blessed!
I agree. In old pictures it seems like clothing isn’t too tight or baggy but it fits really nicely. Today, many popular dresses and clothing items sold from companies are super thin and almost skin tight.
I think the idea of looking “done up” also helps to create that vintage feel. Even if it’s a casual look, having neat and tidy hair, fresh makeup, and clothes that aren’t wrinkly always make me feel like I’m channeling my grandma 😂
I love corsets and have been wearing them for 23 years, however, I was a vintage fashion blogger (1940s-1970s styles) for a decade and used to do hairstyle tutorials on my old youtube channel. I haven't really done any of that in a few years. . my hair is far too long now. I stopped using hairsprays and hair care products. It is so funny that you say style secrets from Grandma when there are so many people I have met who have grandparents' my parents' ages or even my oldest brother's age haha. Definitely these styles are my grandmothers' styles (they were born in 1916 and 1922). I used to not want to wear red lipstick because it reminded me too much of my one grandmother who ALWAYS wore it. I wear it now though here and there. Your pearls are so cute. I have borrowed my mother's pearls in the past. I like pearls. Peter Pan collars are one of my favorite designs for tops. I have owned so many and really love the look. I love a t-strap shoe!
GIRL...when you busted out the rollers I almost fell off my bed!!!🤣🤣 Literally, my preteen/teen years came back in an instant. I had to SLEEP in those EVERY night to have my curls for the next day. The memory/trauma of having to strategically place my head on the pillow for the least amount of pain is apparently still very vivid. And needing to place the pins just right so it didn't fall out as I slept🤦🏾♀️ Guarenteed great curls though!!!👍🏾 Lol...thanks for the surprise flashbacks 🤣Peace & Blessings from Jersey!!!🙏🏾💜 🙋🏾♀️
I love this series. A woman that takes the time to look nice always gets a second look. Even wearing a sweater, jeans and a neat hairdo can look elegant. My mom always used Ponds cold cream and her sister used Noxema in the blue jar. Their skin looked so creamy
I love vintage! My husband bought me some peasant dresses (square neckline, poufy sleeeves and all!), I plan to add a nice apron and call it my mom uniform ❤ it’s retro and I love it
I love pearls I was wearing them when I was 8 years old all the way to now there mild to classy they go with anything love them the real ones are heavy sold those for diapers but I miss those heavy pears they have a glow to them that I miss the real long fake one are great because you can twist them for a bundle of pearls or have more layered or tiered look still wear them can't go wrong with pearls
It really brought me back to my childhood when my mum used those rollers every so often. And I wear pearls very often. I am a high school teacher and my style is half modern and half classic and my girl students always compliment me! So I must be doing something right I guess! I loooove your videos.
I absolutely adore your videos! Some of my favorite memories with my grandma were conversations about life in the 1940’s and 1950’s. She loved looking “done up.” Her favorite lipstick were bright pinks and peaches, another classic from that time. I miss her dearly 💜
Just found your videos. Are all your children your natural children. Love your values. They are very lucky to have parents like you both. I came from abusive parents. Both passed when I was a teenager. Godbless your family
Pond's Cold Cream, blotted red lipstick and cream blush (which she called rouge), pink Camey Soap. She always wore a hat and gloves. This was a fun video. Thanks very much for pisting.
I love these videos! I want the days back when men & women wouldn't dare leave the house in sweats or pajamas (gasp)! My mom would do a full face of makeup just to grab the mail....
OMG! Those brush rollers! I didnt know anyone still used those, or wanted too! I remember those from my childhood! My mother would roll our hair in them every sat night after our baths so we had curls for church on Sun. morning. We had to sleep with them in our hair!!! It was like sleeping on a head full of lumpy needles lol… I was SO grateful when sponge rollers came out. Still lumpy but no needles lol…
I love this video. I always say there is a little old lady living inside me that loves pins, scarves and beautiful blouses, especially the ones with unique ways that they tie. I just love a beautiful blouse, and they can be hard to find. I inherited a lot of my pins from my mom and grandma. I'm 54 now, but I have always worn my pins on my suit coats and jackets ever since I was little. I feel cool now, lol!
I graduated from High School in 1967. The best time. The rollers were used by me , we used a product called Dippidy Do. I probably spelled it wrong. It was a jell. In fact they still sell it. My grandma used the rollers and my Mother got her hair done every week. They set hers and put her under the hood dryer. ( bake the set in ) It was back combed and sprayed. That lasted her all week. We would wet our hair and set it . slept with those awful things. My hair came around my jaw line. I loved it. My sisters was longer. Back combed and spray. Add the white lip stick. There you go. I am enjoying your weekly tips. Joyce
I for one think you are absolutely beautiful in all ways that i have seen in your videos since i subbed. You definitely rock this page and im happy i found it. Nothing better than binge watching on Saturday's! ❤ And your hair color😍
I curl my hair all one direction, like I part my hair on the left and then curl the left side back and the right side forward and then brush it to the right and put it over my shoulder. I like the blue red lipstick and all the pearls! Lol I also like a nice brooch on my peacoat.
She linked it in the description. I tried to include the link in my reply, but RUclips took it down. Go to the description of the video and click ...more That will expand the list and it is near the bottom of the description. Hope that helps.
I hate lipstick 😂 i hate leaving it on my water bottle or coffee cup. I hate how it gets worn off around the inner edge of my lips. I hate worrying about it getting on my clothes, my kids, my teeth or smearing on my face. Plus my skin is so sensitive my lips get dry not matter how hydrating the formula is. There is only one chapstick i like even nevermind lipstick lol
Dear, I’m sure you are not using most of the products you are showing us 😒 in each video you are just promoting Amazon . I don’t believe a thing you are saying 🙄
It seems like previous eras had a sense of elegance we almost can’t match today. Thanks so much for the tips!
I agree completely!
Vintage jewelry is my nod to the past. Not worn as sets, but mixed with modern pieces. Thanks!
You are great! I love your stuff more every time I watch!

Another vintage tip would be clothes that fit well! We don't tend to get things tailored these days, but finding the right fit goes a long way.

Absolutely right.

Hey, pearls are back right now.I have not seen those kind of rollers for years! I love it!
I love this series. A woman that takes the time to look nice always gets a second look. Even wearing a sweater, jeans and a neat hairdo can look elegant. My mom always used Ponds cold cream and her sister used Noxema in the blue jar. Their skin looked so creamy
The retro vibe will never go out of style. 50 years from now, we will still be trying to emulate parts of it.
I like to get half moon nails-a vintage style that is actually very practical. I have a physical hands on job and that style holds up.
Love all of your vintage tips! I love keeping Old shirts and scarves from my grandmothers and they still look so cool!
I love this vintage series that you are doing. The women of those eras exuded classiness and we definitely need to bring that back!
Born in Augusta right here! Living in st pete Florida.
🎉 Here for the homeschool. Stayed for the southern charm and style! ❤
This is so helpful. I remember those "bed spring" rollers from the late 70s.
I love this vintage vibe look too
I love vintage! My husband bought me some peasant dresses (square neckline, poufy sleeeves and all!), I plan to add a nice apron and call it my mom uniform ❤ it’s retro and I love it

I don’t care what fashion “experts” say…pearls are NEVER out of style.

I feel so old now. The vintage hair rollers you demonstrated were one of about 3 types available in the 1960’s when I was a teen. 😂
I love these videos! I want the days back when men & women wouldn't dare leave the house in sweats or pajamas (gasp)! My mom would do a full face of makeup just to grab the mail....

I still have mine, which are hand-me-downs from my mom...lol. Need to dig those back out instead of using the hot rollers....
I love this series! Also, you may favor the orangey-reds because you are warm toned.

Love this series!!!! Absolutely takes me back to my grandma and my aunts…wish we could be back there in this world
The world NEEDS you and this content. Thank you

Oh boy...flash back! Mom put that stuff in my hair when I was younger

Would love to see a GRWM showing your Vintage makeup style please.
My grandmother told me to never put my hands anywhere I would not put my face and to treat my hair like the finest silk blouse.
I’ve never heard of Lottabody 🤔 gonna give it a try . Love your strawberry blonde color❤️
And thats a curler set I was looking since... always :) thank you
If I had the money I would buy The Jacky bag. I just love so much of retro things but that is the coolest of them all!
I curl my hair all one direction, like I part my hair on the left and then curl the left side back and the right side forward and then brush it to the right and put it over my shoulder. I like the blue red lipstick and all the pearls! Lol I also like a nice brooch on my peacoat.
I looooove setting lotion!!! I have not used it in years. I neeed some ASAP! I live in the country. I need to visit a Sally’s
I like outta body, I also dilute it. I go half and half, works very well.
Yes to a little rouge and lipstick! Wonderful video, thank you!
Great job Angela
Loving your content just now 💖
The rollers you are using are simply called Brush Rollers. I grew up using them. 🤭
Having a face too big for cat eye glasses haha I feel you :)))
Not the vintage doctored corset photos XD
can you link the top you have on? (is it something that would still be available? love the video 😘

My mother used lemon juice for setting lotion.

🙂
I've watched several of your video's, and one thought that always comes to my mind is "Trophy Wife!"
That’s a rude thing to say.
What’s going on over at fair haven farms? You guys ok?
You are an absolutely beautiful lady. it's hard to concentrate on what you are saying. Lol
