This is fantastic! There's that website that sells these for quite a lot of money. I'm glad you've done this. Also, I had to get rid of my router as I eventually got fibre at my house in the middle of nowhere. But this is amazing and shows you how easy it is.
I have a H122-373 at the window in my kitchen with no external antenna's and i get around -95 to -100 RSRP to band n78 resulting in the full 500MBit of my plan. cell tower is around 1km away. You certainly don't have to live underneath a 5G mast. I was thinking about doing this exact mod myself years ago but decided not to since its already running pretty well. Nontheless absolutely brilliant video as always!
I really liked to see you test all the antennas you've made so far, 4G and 5G especially... looked around your channel and did not find anything. I think it would be nice to make a video on that, testing the actual speeds and stability of the internet for example, with and without the modifications done to the router...
Now that there are new WIFI 7 routers with the new 6 GHz (5.925-7.125 GHz) band, it would be really cool to see a 6 GHz Yagi build (or similar directional antenna). Because you can't buy them right now if you don't want to spend 400$ or more on a antenna. Since the Frequency is so high a 12 Element design would even fit on a 150mm PCB. Sadly I don't have the skills or equipment myself to design it but it would be so cool if you would design a PCB antenna that everyone can just get made online for a few bucks 🙂
Did i literaly wait one whole year and change for someone to really talk about this but the person that I NEED to speak about! What do you mean locked???? Don't forget to add the amazon links. I want to know what antennas can you use for these. I for sure have been plugging in antennas that probably don't work also my U.FL connects, the wires are VERY small. What do you recommend for antennas? I'm like scared that nothing will work. And is it mandatory to use 4 antennas that are similar as to.. 2 of you own antennas and 2 of their antennas?
Andrew, thank you for the upload, keen to understand the length of the SMA U.fl connectors? If you could share the Amazon links I would really appreciate it.
hi Andrew. Thanks for this video. It’s really helpful! I have one of these that I’d like to have a go at myself but can you help with the SMA pigtails that I needed to connect to the internal motherboard. Are these click on or is there soldering required? Would appreciate any guidance and thanks again for the video!
and in fact i just realised mine is a 122-373 which only seems to have one 5g antenna inside. is there a specific type of directional antenna i would want for this scenario once the mod is done?
Hi Andrew, I love your channel; your videos are very helpful. I want to build a Biquad antenna for the 2100 MHz LTE Band 1 and was wondering about the difference between a circular Biquad antenna and a square Biquad antenna. Which one is better?
hello sir , i have tp link mr 600 router The tower is 2km away from my house, and I am using a 4G LPDA antenna, but I also need a better antenna to give a good signal. Can you suggest me which antenna would be good?
I have a B628-350 and I also wanted to modify it to 4x4 since there is only 2 TS9 external port I just wonder where to connect the pigtail since there is a lot of antenna inside unlike my greenpacket d2k-ft10 that has only 4 ports inside
Thank you for your work and this beautiful explanation. I also mounted the LTE antennas on a high pole on the roof. However, this time, my LTE modems burned out due to lightning and electrification on dark cloudy days. Do you have any suggestions to protect the antennas we connected to high places from lightning? Good luck. Thank you for your efforts.
why did you modify the Antenna that much. Is there an original connector on the back of the Huawei H112-370 that comes with the TS9 Antenna plug?. what if using the original TS9 connector Antenna without dismantling is there any change?
It’s called information as I said in the video you don’t have to mod everything. Modification gives you options over a stock product if you don’t need those options don’t mod it.
I just did that with my 4G B-818. But it also has 2 X external factory horrid little TS-9 connectors I swapped for SMAs. Doesn't the CPE have external jacks? I now have 6 antenna options. One thing you failed to mention was that the factory internal 4G and 5G lead sets are each for 4x4 MIMO, or you can do two pairs of 2x2 MIMO yagis to them. Speed galore!
@@andrewmcneilWelcome back Andrew! Love your channel! Sorry if I didn't get your answer but I have the same question but afraid that the router will then only work if connected to external antennas. Is that the case?
My brother has Three 5g router issues. The 5g mast is 500 metres away line of sight. Router is in the bay window and i can see the tower from there yet it keeps saying no internet. Tested speed over the road from the tower, 694mbps whereas outside the house it drops to 384mbps. Does it need this upgrade or is more going on ?
@andrewmcneil fantastic, anywhere nice. And of course...your coming back to RUclips??? Your a rare and valuable creator with aging knowledge on an incredible subject matter most have no clue about and would rather buy some over priced plastic junk from a curry's or other store to perform a far lesser job than something incredible you create.

Hi Andrew. Please add links to cables used and if you could specify which socket is 4G and 5G like you did for wifi that'd be great. Thanks
I love your work, nicely done👌
Waiting for the results.
Unfortunately, I did not do a before and after test on this one. I have just modified a ZTE MC888 and the difference before and after are amazing
great video! do you have an estimate on the signal improvement ? is it like 50% improvement?

Can we use multi Ipex to sma ?
Like 3 ipx in one sma ? With no issue at all??
No, you cannot and people who post videos showing this are morons
Doing that, the router still having a good signal using only the internal antennas or not? He becomes full dependent of the external antennas?
yep

hi andrew which one is best antenna for wifi
Nice modification
how do you know which one is low or high frequency
nice mod there andrew did you ever get to test in the end with a sim card ?
I never did a before and after on this one but i have just moded a ZTE MC888 and the before and after are impressive

Sound more like a problem with the router than distance
How would you know the frequency of each internal antenna? I'm planning to do a mod myself. Thanks

What length pigtails did you use please ?
30cm
Can you please share links to the WiFi antennas?
nc vid. more vid plz
Hi is there a way i can buy this build amazing modification?
sorry i have sold it
thanks this for video… big help this. so what about for H155-382 ❤❤❤
test it with ur 5g mode antennas and 4g antennas you made from ur past videos..
