With regard to the generational difference in appreciating bitcoin, the question for Swan is, what are they going to do about it? Because the over-44-yr-olds is where the big money is at. Is Swan going to wait until the big financial service firms, the ones that currently work with this group, have the desire, insight, abilities, and marketing budget to onboard them to bitcoin? Or is Swan going to go after this group now. May I humbly suggest hiring people NOW in marketing and sales that can speak to this older generation. And go after them.
They did. Swan has IRA programs now, and staff devoted to big-money clients.
They are very "ageist". It kind of gets on my nerves. But they are also very "high net worth" individuals oriented. I guess it is a business model that works for them. I just wish they'd quit with the age crap.
I'm 66 and have been stacking as much as I can by DCA since 2021 ... trying to talk the younger generation into doing the same but ironically they are more into gold and stocks ... unfortunately every time I talk them into getting interested, BTC goes sideways and then falls ... makes it hard to sell

@@MarcIverson True ... and I'm a big fan of Swan in general. Used them for years. But it seems like a pretty basic understanding of bitcoin tells you that an IRA where you don't hold the keys isn't a great idea. They still have work to do IMO.
The fundamentals of the bitcoin network hasn't changed the block's stll ticking ever 10 minutes and will continue to do so 2 3 years from now regardless of the price action. The network has to survive that's what matters to me the most

The Govt ABSOLUTELY knows that Bitcoin has value so the fact that they are selling scares me.
Why? The U.S. does not care about making profits from bitcoin. These coins they sell are all confiscated which means that they are already in profits. They can print money, why would they hodl Bitcoin to a Mil?
They've been deliberately weakening and destroying the nation systematically and incrementally on all fronts, including economically. No surprise to see them do it now before presidential administrations change.

The the government doesn’t need to own its own bitcoin. It owns a third of everyone’s bitcoin through capital gains tax.
Folks should be holding, not selling. For most people, that means a long term capital gains tax is 15%, not 33%. And that's only when the asset is sold, and only if the government knows you bought and sold it.
Regarding what Dante mentioned about 'delayed gratification.' Every investor should familiarise themselves with a classic experiment in psychology called "The Marshmallow Test."
The TL;DR version is...good things come to those who can wait.

Obviously the older, wiser, more experienced prefer stocks to BTC. BTC dropped 75 PERCENT of its value over the course of a single year from '21 to '22. Stock market didnt do that and never will (ironically, now that btc is centralized and manipulated, it never will again either).
😂 it's literally a decentralised distributed computer system a global ledger where everyone is checking everyone the stock market is rigged
BTC is not centralized, never has been and can't be. Also, BTC has surpassed both the S&P 500 and gold over the last 10 years by orders of magnitude.
@@JohnTurner313 Centralized in the fact that the price can be completely manipulated. And the return is irrelevant if you can lose 75% of your wealth in a few hundred days. This doesnt happen with the indexes and thats why older generations prefer it to BTC

@@formetoknow540 Yes 100% return, until it crashes again. Im explaining the age divide in sentiment. The ones that have the most experience (the ones that have seen the most through having more time) are avoiding the asset that can lose 75% in a year. If it goes to 70k, then drops to 18k every cycle, you're not getting the return you think you are. Those that bought outside of under the cycle prices will see the return, but vast majority wont.
