Vinesh Phogat knocked out reigning champion Yui Susaki of Japan in one of the biggest upset stories of Paris Olympics on Tuesday, August 6. The Indian wrestler beat top seed Yui 3-2 in the Round of 16 to progress to the quarter-final of the women's 50kg category.
Vinesh Phogat defeated Yui Susaki, who did not concede a single point en route to her Tokyo Olympics Gold. Before Tuesday, Yui had lost only three matches in her entire career and Vinesh handed her the Japanese wrestler's fourth.

She is representing India so the Indian govt has cleared, projected, paid for and allowed her to represent India through the IOA. Stop watching cheap political twists on media. A part of the Haryana lobbyy of wrestlers had tried to hijack and control the process of selection and representation of wrestlers who represent the nation for their gains and monopoly. That has been kicked down by the govt as it should be. they projected some of this award winning wrestlers and offered them participation without trials as lobby nominees. Now that Phogat has gone through the laid down selection policy she has gone and represented India. This lobby churns out thugs and bouncers too for political clout. That got a kick.
