- How to grow corn in raised beds. This year I grew Ambrosia corn - and it was delicious and so easy to grow! 75 days to harvest means you can plant an early round of corn, harvest it 75 days later, pull out the stalks and plant a second round before fall! To plant your corn in your square foot garden, plant 3 seeds per square and fill a whole bed so it’s in a block rather than a straight line for better pollination.

Today, I planted my three sisters garden in a 5' X 10' (1.5 m X 3 m) raised bed. Your baby has a wonderful life. I walk my cat in the vegetable garden every day.
I do as my grandfather did with his corn. When the silk comes on put a few drops of vegetable oil on the silk. This suffocates anything that tries to live and eat your corn.
I am going to try that this year!
Never heard of that, definitely going to try it.
Do you apply the oil right away, or give a few days for germination?
@@Skashoon I think it's after the corn is developed and has actual ears on it then the tips of the ears will have the silks and when those start showing I think is when you're supposed to apply the oil.. hope that helps! GOD bless!
Thanks for the tip, I'll remember that! 👍😊
i love your new born and how you intrudence us and continue teahing us how to grow
good explaining on growing corn, i loe your new born
Great advice! Thanks from a first time grower!
Thanks for the tip.9 plants in a square meter.yes i did thought would it be possible 🎉🎉🎉
For the beetle bags it is best not to put them directly by the plants you are trying to protect. Instead put them out 50 feet to 100 from the area. Spread out a couple of bags to create a protective boundary. Still will get a few on the corn but less than when attracting them right to the area. Great video !
Say several years ago I had a idea and it works wonderful! I put 3 large bug zappers up close to corn and tomatoes and I have had near zero worms and zero tomato worms! I did have to cut larger openings into the zapper cage so large moths could get in. It has been a gamechanger for me. I do still use BT too
I am going to have to remember to try this this coming year
Love this video and your wealth of information. I am trying corn this upcoming season so I appreciate learning so much
Thank you. Hope your upcoming garden season is successful!
Thank you for the tips I planted sweet corn last year and I followed the directions on the seed package and it still didn't do very good but I made my own organic fertilizer using cat tails from my pond and weeds that were laying around out side I think that may have a little something to do with it but I'm not sure. I had a garden the year before last and I made liquid fertilizer from a piece of dry cow manure that I let soak in water for a about 2 weeks the first garden I had that's what I used and it did good. So this year I'm going to do the same thing with cow/horse manure. I ended up moving my garden last year and the weeds just took over the whole thing but that's because it was out of sight and out of mind the garden I had before that was out by the clothes line so I was able to see it out my kitchen window which was helpful.
Got a few rows of heirloom golden bantam. Should have seed emergence in a couple days. Soil is pre fertilized. Once they reach one foot I’ll fertilize again with a more nitrogen rich liquid fertilizer.
Excellent 🎉🎉🎉 I subscribed to your channel 🙏 Can't wait to watch more 😊 Many blessings to you and your family..
Thanks, this is good!
Thanks a lot for the info!
Glad it was helpful!
as always love your videos
Thank you Tammy!!
Looks like you grew, planted and harvested your farm baby!
Sure did :) She is a blessing for sure!
Loved that Bundle!❤🌷
Wow 3 per square foot?! Lol i just put 1 seed/sqft in this evening. May go out tomorrow morning and readjust to qdd aome more. Cool!
I’m curious if the garlic or pepper spray worked for you. And if so what was the recipe thank you in advance😊
I had several plantings of (in-ground) corn last year.. my corn was BEAUTIFUL… until a wind came up and blew most of the tall section over.. I did end up harvesting a good many ears, but they’d been chewed up pretty bad. I will put oil on the silks this year.. I had not heard of that before. I dusted silks with DE last year, and sprayed BT, but it would wash off in the rain or when I watered.
I've alternated between years with BT & Spinosad...
Wo very useful
Wow amazing
Thanks for watching
I planted pop corn its about knee high now
Please boost the audio.
My brother recommended brocious sweet corn
And my raised garden bed is 4'x12'x12" tall
How much fertilizer do you use for this size bed
Manual pollinate
If you test it, and it’s not ready, is that ear ruined, or can you keep it on the stock to continue ripening?
Fold the leaves back up and leave it longer. :)

This video is so low. It's hard to hear anything even with the volume turned up.
