@Eva G if u ever have the chance to go, it’s worth every penny. They keep The energy and emotion going for almost 3 hours and army sings along collectively to every song. It’s really amazing. Never been to any other concert or event like it. Feels like it’s cozy and close when it’s huge and chaotic.🤣💜

@ Eva G I had been holding on to my tickets from 2020 but then the tour just got cancelled again so we will be starting over. It’s like hunger games to get tickets as they sell out really really fast no matter where they go.
Personally as albums go- Map of the soul 7 & love yourself tear are my favorites, but they are all great. My daughter (15yrs old) and I (44) have been army for a couple years, her before me- she opened my eyes to them. And seeing them live together was amazing.

Jin’s voice is never pretentious, as another critic said, and that’s why I love his voice.
Jins voice portrays honesty. When he sings you believe the lyrics. That's why audience's love to sing this song at concerts.
Jin is my favorite singer, his voice gets me in my feels!!! He's the only member who can make me cry. His song "Tonight" is so emotional; if you're a pet lover, it is a must to listen to.

I was at the Rosebowl stadium when he performed this song. Everyone was singing along while they were crying without realizing it. It was the most amazing, surreal and beautiful experience. 😍 BTS spreads so much positive and love to this world. Loved your reaction!
seokjin's acting history really is amplified on the stage. every performance is just that, a performance, he knows so well how to portray emotions which is what makes it so phenomenal.
You should also check out Jin's solo "Moon." It was #5 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 2020 list of the 75 Greatest Boy Band Songs of All Time list. It's the highest ranking BTS song on the list.

Jin's vocals are like angels singing. His high notes are the best, so precised. The best vocal. 👏🏼👏🏼
The message of Epiphany is so pure and powerful that it doesn't need any vocal acrobatics. The song resonates to me and I hold on to this song every time I doubt myself.. Its simplicity makes it easy for me to sing it or rather tell the message to myself..... Jin is the icon of positivity and I think he's the best person to sing Epiphany. For this reason, he gave a genuine and honest performance and that makes it more effective in conveying the message of the song.
Jin is often overlooked by reactors but he does have an amazing voice! The song that showcases his range the best would probably be Dionysus. He's doing both lower notes and higher notes in that song. A lot of people get it wrong and say that Jk is the one doing the right note at the end but it's actually Jin!

@@ami-ev8td , yes he’s overlooked by others, I’ve seen a lot of YT reactors/ reactions, but for some they could really recognize Jin’s vocals especially in live performances.
Like this one too. He started with comparing Jm n Tae to Jin😢Jm has naturally high voice and Tae lower voice but jin had the talent and he is amazing and my favourite. Period.
What made BTS gigantic was the members themselves, Everyone knew BTS through music and stayed for the members.
Good music you find everywhere now artist Good, it's hard to find.
BTS career is an open book, all BTS music fans who are curious about the members will research their life and end up liking them even more. BTS Success has many factors it's not just because of the music or dance or voice.
I would never imagine that I would be listening to music from other languages that I didn't understand, Today I memorized most BTS music lyrics in korea from listening so much, I did it more because of the members, all the time they appear on my screen the smile doesn't get out of my face it even hurts my cheek. hahaha
For me it was reverse. I saw V in Hwarang, then saw his videos. Found him so adorable and in the process discovered the others and their personalities and then went on to hear their songs. But yes it is the genuiness of these boys made me an ARMY.

To me it was mainly ARMY that sounded like a family that I felt I wanted to be a part of.

I always felt that FIRE brought me to BTS but Epiphany made me stay. I can't love anyone else with my wholeheart, until I learned to love myself. I saw Jin perform Epiphany live in concert at the RoseBowl and it was a master piece. Each song is staged Beautifully and I felt my heart swell and my eyes teared up as I sang along I'm the one I should love.
oh the translations will never be able to express the real lyrics. if you know korean, epiphany lyrics are like a poem. it's so beautiful.

Epiphany truly is an experience! I remember how it felt so powerful, like it was a spiritual experience of affirmation.. A stadium full of voices joining Jin's singing "I'm the one I should love in this world". It's like you feel this will to be kinder to yourself, more accepting and understanding, alongside tens of thousands of ARMYs. And embraced within this sense of communion, you find it in yourself to trust that this is a journey we can get through. It's incredible how music can move you.
I really think Jin has this sincerity to his voice that just feels so real and pure and honest.. Like he means every word he says. I feel it deeply.
It's such a wonderful thing that each vocalist in BTS has their own gorgeous colour to bring.. The synergy between their differences really makes me feel like there's so much to revel in every time I listen to a song. The replay value is immense because nothing is every half-arsed. They make it so that each listen reveals layers upon layers.
I really like your concept of "vocal empathy", it makes me reflect now on why I love the music I love. Coming from a country where singers become famous for their technique and range (which they deserve, of course) I've always kind of been drawn instead towards artists with more approchable sound and personal lyrics.

Epiphany is my healing song for a reason. When I was in depression and tried to commit suicide two times this masterpiece is the thing that helped me to try. To try love myself and to value myself. I listened to this 2 times every single day for 7 months. I really owe my life to Epiphany and Jin too...
To be honest my favourite vocalist is Jin. His voice is so unique and he is a God gifted singer who has a unique ability to convey emotion through his vocals. He has the most natural and emotional voice in bts. It's just raw and just pure. Truly a healing, soothing and calming vocals......💕
The song is a part of the BU, the BTS Universe. Thats why the rain is going up :). Its a loong story to explain *g*. But I love that song too and I love Jin, he is great
I've always felt that Jin's voice feels more human and relatable than the others. That's what makes it really stand out to me. The honesty.
Epiphany is a sudden moment of powerful realization. In the BTS Universe, I interpret it as Jin saying he can't save everyone on his own and slowly needs to accept that he isn't perfect and he can't fix the past with only his soul. But it is a healing song about how he is capable of self love and needs to do so.
You should hear his high notes in Awake and Moon and his legendary live triple high note in Crystal Snow. (They all sound amazing in Crystal Snow to be honest.)

Seokjin had acting vocal training before he learned singing. His voice teacher talked about it. He is a good actor in general and I think that's what comes across in his singing. Like you said, he is trying to tell a story.
This is one of my utter favorites. The production is done so well. It feels like it fit Jin superbly. Thanks for your breakdown.
There are many singers with different vocal techniques, tones and genres. For me Jin's voice is simple, pure and full of emotion. Not to mention, his superb highnote and beautiful falsetto. He can deliver the massage of the song really well. No need for him to do vocal acrobatic. I remember sting, eric clapton, john lennon, etc.

Jin’s voice is my favourite because to my ear it sounds the most natural and emotionally I connect with it. Even when he’s in the background my ears pick him up.
BTS is all about loving yourself and Jin especially preaches it, his members have said how he’s taught them to be happy and more comfortable with themselves. Which makes this song that Jin worked on as well, even more special to fans.

Jin isn't just a singer, he is also an actor, (he was an actor before being a singer), so i think him looking dead in the eye is just part of the acting of the whole performance, Either way he still looks good anyway lmao.

Epiphany is on the third Love Yourself album, LY: Answer. The first is LY:Her which talks about fated love with the title track DNA (our love is in our DNA) and Jimin’s solo Serendipity. The second is LY: Tear where that perfect fated love is torn apart. Title track Fake Love and V’s solo Singularity. The third, LY: Answer is telling us the answer to finding love. The title track is Idol and Jon’s solo Epiphany. The answer is that before you can love others, you must learn to love yourself.
Jin basically taught himself to sing and dance. He has worked so hard for years. He is my favorite! I bet he returns to acting which he studied at University when BTS is no longer...Eileen

Awesome review ^^ I agree that he was not "dead in the eyes". To me it was pure melancholy, because he couldn't love himself even tho he was singing about wanting to.
I feel like the "dead in the eyes" Emotion is probably like in context of the lyrics... He's so broken that he needs to constantly reaffirm to himself that he deserves to be loved... But he has resigned to not seeing his own worth but just repeating "I'm the one I should love" Hoping it would would actually mean something at one point..
yes, his voice is a story-teller. all bts voices are beautiful. thus, my favorite is jin's cos whenever he sings, it hits me differently - so raw and honest, and makes me feel emotions i thought i forgot. i've heard this live twice... i couldn't help but cry. it was so otherworldly. his voice... his voice omg.

The rain in the live version harkens back to the original MV version and Jin's storyline in the BTS Universe.. also follows theme of this album.
The person that trained him vocally in the UA said Jin didn't know a lot on how to properly sin, but in 3 years the person said Jin was so devoted it didn't just change/improve his voice. The coach said he evolved it beyond anything he expected because of his determination and I find that beautiful. He worked so hard to become as amazing as he is now and still climbs the latter every day. Jin has been through so much in his life and career that seeing people acknowledge it warms my heart. BTS is also the advocate for self love and suicide awareness so a lot of their materials are based around that relation. Jin had one of the most relative parts in his journey to self love and it's an inspiration his story.
This song live (as in when you’re physically in the stadium) is really another experience. He’s amazing🥰

In my personal taste I prefer the Jin blonde perfomance, even the purple one. This one has too much noises of the fans. The song moon its one most upbeat and show more diversity and don't block him in ballads.

I would recommend listening to the entire song the first time through and then go back and replay it to comment/react to it.
Jin's voice, like the other members, is beautiful and unique. He was chosen strictly for his good looks and had never sang (or danced) before joining the group as the oldest so did not start any training until he was nearly 20. Jin felt as if he was not contributing enough and worked very hard to 'catch up' with his talented younger members (worked many extra hours while always taking care of the younger members rather than taking advantages of the special privilege age is given in Korean culture) This song, Ephiphony, reflects his own journey of learning to feel good about himself, of learning to love himself.

This song is perfect for Jin(although he had ALWAYS been my bias singer in the group) because he wws chosen for his looks. He was criticized for his ability to dance, and sing. So many people just didn't see the potenital he had. And to see him sing to this caliber you can tell how much he has practiced over the years to get to where he is today. I feel like this song shows his journey throughout his musical career as a bts member. Thank you jin for singing us such a beautiful song

Thank you so much for uploading and sharing this review with us. Epiphany is one of the most “felt” songs among bts listeners and the point about “vocal empathy” explains this phenomenon a bit. You cannot deny that this particular song does “speak” the emotions to the listeners despite the language barrier, I knew that sincerity comes from Jin himself since he struggled and struggles with self worth issues and successfully overcomes them again and again, but I never thought about the possibility of his singing technique/style making it easier to relate. This song truly was made for him to sing and promote this beautiful feeling of epiphany. Thank you again for sharing

The other guys tease Jin for having that same dramatic stare for every performance. It's just a callback to the MV which is connected to his character in the Bangtan Universe. The BU Jin does a lot of desperate staring into the ether.

I think Jen was going for a sexy look, not dead eyes😄. I really love this song. I think like Jin sings, that you hide yourself along the way to fit in or be more acceptable, name it, and sometimes it’s a situation or something/someone else that reminds you that you also have value. The lyrics may be simple but they are powerful.
