That's what I love about 90s and below animation. They didn't have access to 3d tools or ai trash so everything HAD to be done by hand thus the much higher baseline of quality for stuff produced back then. It's sad we're at the level where people consider stuff like demon slayer to have exceptional animation. Stuff with that level of quality would of been considered mediocre animation back then

cutouts, puppets, rotoscope, auto rotoscope, 3d, VFX particle simulations, motion graphics tweening, spatial interpolation, procedural animation using code... There's a long list.
