I'm currently doing the A & A 14MP1 which i got from Daves. The kit was/is a nightmare, sprues were incorrectly labelled, no numbers on the sprues which required me to keep looking at layouts. Most mating faces for the larger parts were atrocious and the gaps required too much filler and sprue glue. I saw this announced in Feb on their Faceache page and they have now got your video on their page so well done Nigel.
It would be nice if they sent me some freebies eh!!
@@NigelsModellingBench Not if they are like the 14MP1 🤣🤣🤣
Great looking kit, definitely a 'Need a clear bench ' type of build!
MAKS is the name of Russia’s largest airshow. So the first example is likely a demonstrator aircraft.
I would love a Starlifter
I think Anigrand do one?
@@NigelsModellingBench They do - as well as a Galaxy. The latter comes with a free new house!
Busy building the A&A model Beechcraft 350 Super King Air...definitely s not "shake 'n Bake" kits but I do like the fettling. Will make a nice kit, although I bought the resin wheels and engines from Air-Graphics, which will make a difference.
All the pics I could find of IL-76 cockpits were the standard turquoise except for a couple that were a very light powder blue. The latter could be confused for grey. Couldn't find an FM specifically though. Has to be turquoise!
4 MF's built is accurate. Jordan bought 2, USSR/Russia had 2. Jordan sold theirs to Egypt, and a mystery one is registered to Wagner Group and operating via ever changing registration numbers in Africa as of 2024. And the 4th is used for display/testing and evaluation/training of upgrades to the IL76 fleet.
Almost all the Soviet and big amount of modern Russian planes have indexes starting from their designers (design bureau) surname first letters.
Il (not ai el) stands for Ilyushin.
MAKS is an international air space show (Moskovskiy Aerokosmicheskiy Salon).
Thanks.. I always argue this point when people say "Ess You" instead of Sue..
@@NigelsModellingBench Yeah, you, English speakers have weird meaning and pronunciation for Russian and the other Slavonic words which is pretty normal as per our languages differences.
Su (not Sue) stands for Sukhoi, Ka stands for Kamov, Mi stands for Mil', Tu stands for Tupolev, Yak - for Yakovlev, MiG - for Mikoyan i Gurevich (Mikoyan and Gurevich), Be - for Beriyev and so on.
@@NigelsModellingBench welcome :)
I only wrote "Sue" so people read the name, Sue rather than SU. Is Mi pronounced "Me"?
@@NigelsModellingBench yes.
It is also weird to hear ZvEzda instead of ZvezdA which means the Star in Russian :)
Cool ✈
Wow 😮
Great looking plane, but re-scribing fiber-glass will ruin the scriber really quickly.
Agreed, but here we will be rescribing gel coat rather than GRP.
👍
Looks like the kits from AModel. I guess it might be pricey? Any plans when this one hits your bench?
GBP 269… 😢
No plans at the moment mate.
12:08 - how many missed the sly joke?
The "H" in "AH" is actually a "N" in Cyrillic. Always confusing.
Nige, not relevant to this aircraft, but another of your recent reviews....
The RAF’s Wedgetail E7 AEW Mk1 has taken its maiden test flight in the UK, conducting a Functional Check flight from Birmingham Airport.
Yeah, I've seen it Craig. I commented how beautiful she was, and was told I was wrong.. "It's ugly" lol.
Men, buy yourself some gloves..
