Nice explanation about the Cherokees and yes, the Liberty KJ and KK are called Cherokees in South America. I actually own a KK but in Mexico they are called Liberty just as in the US, except here we did not get the one with the sky slider feateure.

Kinda weird they didn't have that feature in Mexico, any reason for not selling it there?

I don’t know. There are many models which are not allowed here. We don’t get diesel- engine Jeeps for example.

Well if it makes you feel better, we didn't get the diesel in the US either. I think that was only a European option.

So many vehicles in usa uses different names. Land rover discoveries-LR3 and LR4, mitsubishi L200-Triton .......its not only jeep
