They are usually licensed and insured to do security. You with your little gun in the middle of a crowd are not trained to fire in high intensity situations. The problem with us Americans is we think we’re so great until shit really hits the fan. Going to a gun range shooting a target and shooting while running, ducking, noise etc are 2 different things. I used to conceal carry and I would NEVER want to be in a situation where I need to shoot in a crowded place. I would actually not even put myself in those situations if I was afraid. Which let’s keep it a buck, is exactly what this is. If you’re afraid then don’t go out putting yourself and others in danger.

I give Jess some grace in that area. Lauren worked for TMZ so she’s done this as a profession for years and likely went to school for journalism. As a firearms instructor, I will tell you that you need to check reciprocity laws when you carry from state to state or get the needed licenses that carry extra states that you may carry in. Also it is a good idea for all people who carry to hold insurance.

Char is right about folks with firearms and no education in firearm use and safety. My mother is in her 70s and thought it looked fun at my home shooting range. I took her hiney straight to a public range that offers classes and had her learn a little bit about firearms. She decided afterward that she most decidedly doesn't want to fire a weapon. 😆

Jess’s only “qualification” for this job was being a big name and close with Charlamagne. While Loren isn’t as big of a name, she’s much more articulate, intelligent, experienced, and prepared than Jess. While Jess (struggles to) reads whatever the producers put in front of her, Loren goes the extra mile and calls sources, companies, attorneys, follows up and anything else she has to do to get her facts straight and make sure the listeners are as well informed on the topic as possible.
Something tells me that Loren was ihearts preferred choice, not Jess.
