- FILIPINO PROVINCE LIFE! 🇵🇭 Philippines
Living in the Province areas of the Philippines is a peaceful, enjoyable experience for me personally. I've always loved the nature of the Philippines, but this video goes beyond scenery as we make a Filipino dish with ingredients straight from the property in Bohol, Philippines. The Philippines has many delicious foods, but this has to be one of my favorites. Thank you for watching as always!

Salamat salamat kaayo ❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉
Mr handsome daw 😊😊😊
Remember, without a big family, you won't survive in the Philippines. With your wester mentality and without money or without a big family, you won't do long in those provinces. It look nice as a tourist, but those poor people are going trough problems also. When someone die, they have to beg door to doors to get money to buries the dead person. That is the real reality
@@professorgreen1215 In same time, i have business there and no one want work.. They truly have easy life. I need wait my retirement to work and doing that simple starting farm because no one is interested to do it even with salary.
When I was there visiting family with a my wife and a white friend of mine from the states we were staying in a fishing village and we kind of adopted some kids that lived in the house we were staying in, one day we walked the kids to school just to experience a typical day in the life of the Philippines, believe it or not that was a cool experience for us everyone was so nice, we met several teacher and the school principal got to watch them do their morning exercises and sing their nation anthem it was cool seeing the different culture and everywhere we went people were so kind and nice to us we were the only 2 white people in the village and we kind stood out, smiles and waves from everyone and I was shocked at how happy everyone there was despite the obvious poverty, proof that you don’t have to be rich to be happy, those kids we took to school we spoiled while we were there and now years later they sill call me Tito (uncle) Mike and I keep in touch with the whole family through FaceBook, I’m looking forward to going back and seeing those kids as young adults.
That lady is a typical independent and hard-working Filipina from the province!
She knows how things work in the province but she's not as the answer to your comment
Independent filipina from the province? lmao you're a typical provincial pinoy who is egotistical and delusional.
She's the kind of "independent and hard-working" + "happy" woman whom many Feminist or woke people despise in the US.
You don't know what videos like these gives to Filipinos currently outside the country(Oversees Filipino Workers). We are away from our families and videos like these give us a glimpse of our homeland. We have to sacrifice a lot and leave our paradise for our families. This bit of happiness and nostalgia really helps us get through day sometimes. Thank you for posting.
I’ve heard from several other Filipinos doing the same as you. I have a lot of respect for you all who move abroad for these reasons. I know many of you would rather stay here with friends and family but need to move to places like the US for the work opportunities. I hope I can do your home country some justice for you with these videos! Thank you for watching from abroad; I really do appreciate it! Ingat ka!
Its not only Filipeano. I am a British who calls Cotabato City Mindanao home (I never go back to UK). But I am currently working overseas, and these type of videos give me the same feeling, missing a slice of my adopted home.
@@Brit-Pino😊
I wife is Davao and has told me about the huge parties the have with friends and family. Roasted pig (lechon) and so much more. They roast the pig turning the pig on a spit by hand, and take turns doing it, because it takes a long time, and can be tiring.
I'm Irish I worked with many of your country men they are brilliant hard working people so kind and happy.
I hope you can return some day with all you need .
God bless
A typical Filipina in the show. Brave, strong and powerful!
100% 😍
Ann is all of that.
That's the authentic Filipino experience right there. Bukid is life

I very much liked this episode. I love when you interact so closely with a family and see how they do things.
Thank you for watching! I loved learning all of these new ways to make food from the land!
ONE THINGS I LIKE JONATHAN HE SO KIND TO INTERACT WITH LOCAL IN THE PROVINCE THAT IS WHY HIS VLOG GROW FAST .
@@travelescapesOFFICIAL This Anne, what a charmer.
She knows how to remove the sticky sap of jackfruit , she's seems hardworking, a typical Filipina ❤😊
Awesome video and the little lady there was so absolutely adorable!!! I so prefer these type of videos as opposed to all the 5 star hotel/resorts/malls/touristy areas that everyone else has shown. If you're going to live in the Philippines you should learn about their culture, and no better place to do it than in the province. Just being kind and respectful goes a long way, but pitching in and trying to help and learn goes even farther. You are a great ambassador for foreigners and let the locals see that not all foreigners are the same, there are some good hearted ones that want to be a part of their life style too.
Thanks for saying that, Eric! And I 100% agree. I would rather make these types of videos over those other types you mentioned every single time! This might have been the most enjoyable one to make so far. Thanks for watching!
you'll never run out of this kind of experience if you're on the country side. just know your limits.
@ejtaylor73 💯 agree with you!!!! Loved the video!
Beautiful women 💋

That was the best show you've ever done
Thank you!!
Look at that cutie little girl sharing her biscuits amazing filipino culture and she can understand english at her age.
Looks good..I married a Province girl and we have two kids together A boy and a girl,,We moved back to Arizona from Dauis Bohol..So it all worked out..We had a nice little house built there..Sold it for a profit.. That was a good thing..
How is your family liking Arizona? I currently live in East Mesa and Apache Junction. Bren contemplating visiting the Philippines. Where you living in Arizona?
I remember my first trip to Bohol Philippines and seeing my future 4'10" 85 pound wife run up a coconut tree with no steps in it holding a knife in her mouth to harvest one. Good times for sure. 16 years later she is working in USA, and has built me a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom house to retire at down there in the province. I love the province life, the people, the street food, and the San Miguel beer :)
Ha! Joe Pangit? There's a vlogger

OMG! That's awesome. I love it! My kind of lifestyle, coconut and jackfruit trees, berries and animals, living off the land. BEAUTIFUL!
I completely agree!
This is an amazing video because it captures the heart of a typical rural life in the Philippines. Considering about 70 % of Filipinos live in the rural areas, this is therefore what the Philippine life is all about.
..."good morning pig"!!!
I definitely prefer this lifestyle!
I love the old was and traditional values and gard work..❤

Literally, my favorite Travel Escapes video. I too am from Alabama. In the southern United States, we have strong conservative values and powerful family bonds. I hope to see these types of moments when I visit the Philippines for the first time this fall.

Glad to see a new video. I’m flying out Monday and will be staying a month. Your videos have helped give me lots of ideas for my visit.
nice! I'm happy to hear that they've been helpful! What islands are you going to visit?
@@travelescapesOFFICIAL Cebu,Siquijor,Bohol and Palawan for sure.
On July 29, be in Tagbilaran, Bohol for the Sandugo Festival showdown of the city. That is, if you enjoy festive crowds.
Just avoid cebu pacific when travelling domestically..They have horrible and delayed flights. Try air asia instead.
Had this dish a week ago, stayed 4 weeks in Bohol (Calape town). Just got back yesterday in US and missed all the simple things in the province.
Because you're in Bohol, we call this yummy food as 'tinunuang nangka' or a young jackfruit in coconut milk. It's so yummy especially when added with ginger, garlic, spring onions and bell pepper, and with dried anchovies (if you can eat dried fish) and sometimes pork (a rare option). This is one of my favorite food.
The little girl is so funny calling you kalbo. 😂

Wow, what adventure to experience. One of the best of your vlogs. I salute you of being so natural, no clickbaits unlike other vloggers. This video is a nostalgia from my childhood, except for the coconut, I also loves to climb differrent trees, including jackfruit in our garden in Marikina. Now, after decades, the environment changes everything because of developments. That girl is awesome and to keep. I hope you find your ideal girl in Philippines. And I know this girl will give you a hell of a lifetime beautiful memories to cherish. She have the character. I know, my Belgian hubby said that to me decades ago. Missing Philippines too much. Waiting for your another videos.
Dude that is exactly the kind of woman you want these days, everything is going to collapse soon she is a real island girl, a keeper
Yes, a keeper. They are so good at keeping their secret of being in a relationship with multiple men at the same time. 😂 Ask the men who were born and raised in Metro Manila and they will tell you the "secrets" of these pinays from the provinces.
@ angeryfrogger,
U must be a victim of a province girl to comment that awful!

Hii
Filipinas are the best wives' hands down! Jonathan, go get you one broski!
Nothing beats province life 🏝. So chill, peaceful, everything fresh, laid-back, lots of smiles and a lot of things to do with natures. That's "ginataang langka" can be with pork or fish and spicy is better. That's what we have just a couple of days ago. With string beans, bitter squash, bitter melon and lots of spicy peppers or jalapeños. Sauce - calamari. Life's good 😎. Watching from San Francisco CA 🇺🇲 🫶🇵🇭
I agree! I love province life! oooo I've never had it with pork, I'll have to try that! So, does "ginataan langka" refer to the coconut milk, or the jackfruit?
langka-jackfruit
ginataan- with coconut milk
gata-coconut milk
utan-vegetable
@@travelescapesOFFICIAL ginataan or ginataang langka is actually a Tagalog words. Gata means Coconut milk, Ginataan means with coconut milk, Langka means Jackfruit thus making it to Ginataang Langka. For Bisaya, the Jackfruit is Nangka...and the Coconut milk is Tunu...but in my place we called is Sunob. So the Bisaya Term is Tinunuang Nangka...or in my place it is Sinunubang Nangka..For sure it has other term in other parts of the Visayas or the whole Philippines.😂
Yum yum yum.
Here at my province we also put "pinatuyong kamias" and "dried fish(dilis)". It is delicious.
Province life is so peaceful and quiet! ayo - ayo

I love the fact that you show real things about these countries. Thanks for the great work
I envy this life so much. You have no idea how many people would sacrifice a lot of things just to have a land in province so we could settle in province one day or for vacation. Waking up to roosters and goats in the morning feels so much better than waking up on vehicle noises in the city. You are just one of the very few foreign vloggers here in Philippines who does this type of content instead of going to luxurious places. Keep up the good content man and I hope you meet a lovely Filipina that will show you everything in PH one day.
Roosters here are more like shouting 24/7 😅
Lol that's definitely my place. I live in 25 hectares ancestral land of my Father. Nothing much in here just the Marites tenants. 😅😂
America has lost its was with the high cost of living and craziness...this is what we all need. I miss traditional hard work and values...I went to visit my fiance recently and she pulled out the game scrabble...we played for hours and she spelled American words that I couldn't even spell...reminded me of the times before cell phones and social media...privacy and simplicity
These people are so wholesome. I wish I would have went there as a young man. I wasted my time with western women when beautiful real women are plentiful in the Philippines .
I love this kind of place so relaxing and peaceful . Nature is really the best ..
So cool, what a fantastic farm. Thanks for sharing a real Filipino province experience.
What a great video of the true Philippines life. One of my favorites of all time of everyone's
I wanna go back home. This is our life when we were in the Philippines 🇵🇭. I have the same farm where we have all kinds of fruit trees, coconuts, langka, lanzones, mangga etc. Now we’re living in this place where all you see are shining things that doesn’t impress me anymore. 🇺🇸 US is full of hate culture now, not what it use to when we came here many years back. Time to save up, pack up and go home 🇵🇭
I really enjoyed watching this video😊❤ You're truly amazing and genuine person, and thank you for appreciating our culture and embracing our way of living here in the Philippines.May the Lord God bless and guide you always.🤗☺️🙏

I pretty much 'fall in love' every time I watch a video on the Philippines lol
A Pinay will do anything to impress a Cano. I love the Philippines, full of friendly and welcoming people.
So proud of you Jonathan for making efforts to how Filipinos lived outside the city, it’s very educational for you , here in the America we’re spoiled and we take life for granted, when I was growing up in Leyte we do all our laundry in the river and spend all day there.
Love this kind of vlog. The baby is so cute always following you.

I really enjoy watching this episode, it's real. I'm a Filipina but I don't know how to climb a coconut tree.😅 Well done girl.

It’s a priceless experience. 20 or so yrs ago, I brought from the Philippines a coconut shredder mounted on a stool. I buy the coconut from the supermarket and shred the meat by hand. Good for making fresh coconut milk for cooking native dishes. It’s like bringing a piece of farm life into my NYC home. Nothing like being there though. Enjoy the Philippines!

⭐️ Here, we call each coconut pressing stage a different name (Tagalog):
1. First press with a little water is KAKANG GATA (coconut cream). Separate that.
2. A second press is made with a little more water is just GATA (coconut milk). It’s important in reading recipes which consistency is needed- milk or cream. It’s the same thing just more water is milk. Generally stews call for cream and soups call for milk. Cooking it too long will quite sadly turn it into oil. Still delicious but not creamy. It’s especially critical in making Bicol Express.
Sadly, we know only to throw away the pulp. That can actually be still useful. I think you can extract coconut butter from it-which sooo delicious. I can be wrong. But I imagine you can use a mechanical press and squeeze every last drop of it into a very oily mix. Pour that into a a centrifuge and you separate butter.
My mom would boil the leftover pulp. Eventually, the water evaporates, coconut oil is rendered, and the pulp turns to crackling. The oil can be used several ways.
You are living the life fren. Welcome to the Philippines!
This is what most of us dream of when thinking of going there, you know. Enjoy your travels, man!

Yeah, it's cute. wife said her brother who is a farmer in Isabela province eats dog with friends with white wine after a win at cock fights. Wife was not happy about it. I was like a man has to eat, whatever it is. Here in South China, they do eat dog in Guangdong region. Not any dog, but a specialty. You have to know how Chinese characters in order to recognize the restaurants. Very interesting living in Asia.
That’s my favorite dish growing up in the Oriental Mindoro province. I like when it’s made with a little thicker coconut milk sauce. The camansi (round green) a lot smaller than jackfruit and it has better texture. So good. Thanks for the awesome video! Watching from Seattle. 👊🏻💪🏻

Love the jackfruit in coconut milk dish so much! Personally, it’s best to simmer the jackfruit in coconut milk for a longer period of time in order to create a more concentrated creamy sauce & a more pronounced flavor.
