For those who are interested in the topic of polygonal masonry. A number of methods for obtaining the polygonal masonry are proposed. The basis of the proposed methods is the use of clay/gypsum replicas, a topography translator, and reduced clay models of the stone blocks along with a 3D-pantograph. The results are presented in the article: “Fabrication methods of the polygonal masonry of large tightly-fitted stone blocks with curved surface interfaces in megalithic structures of Peru”. These places are just astonishing. Especially (to me at least) the megalithic parts. It gets my imagination working, thinking about who might have built what the Inca built over top of, and how they would have done it. These have got to be the most scenic ancient ruins on earth, too... hard to top the top of a mountain... after all.
God bless you for all these filmings! You literally bring the beauty, the harmony and all the miracles of our planet (in our homes), through them. Thank you!
Back packed in with my son when he turned 16! We were the only people there other than our guide and porters. Amazingly beautiful, and so much better than the cattle call at Machu Piccu. Thanks for your video, it brought back very pleasant memories of years gone by.
Yes, quite special place and it is so magical when no other people roam around. Soon will be visited somewhat more - road works to Yanama were in progress at the time I was there. This will make the hike more widely accessible.
Thank you for sharing this video. Mi perspective of life changes when I see this; when you go hiking for 2 days (one way) and experience this panoramic view. I wish a lot more people could experience this adventure and take care of nature much better.

Wonderful..for this to be built had to be a collaboration of so many people .. as if the sea's beneath were lifting wherever they originated from or' vast droughts drove them to moist climate. The anormaty of such a place must have been a life or death struggle to have lived through the change let alone the construction.. What a wonderful place Ureeka maybe. Probably at the receding ice age. Sorry my brain wonders... CW ROMFORD ESSEX ENGLAND.
Wow I have to said this is a really nice job done ,thank you very much for show to the world such a beautiful culture I feel more proud to be Peruvian !!
my delight and infinite gratitude for your presentation.Obviously building and living on steep slopes on those altitudes have not been as difficult as our present limited civilization can fathom !!

Have been to Machu Picchu but not here. Agree there have been two previous but different civilizations in Peru. The first, a long, long time ago built with megaliths that are found on other continents. All sites where the first culture existed shows an abrupt end marked by unfinished projects at each site suggesting a global catastrophe that obliterated everything associated except the megaliths. The second society had an enormous building program, trails, terraces, buildings that is absolutely massive in terms of area and locations in Peru and it is hard to account for the mega-millions of stones used for these projects. We know it was the Incas at the end but construction likely occurred over a thousand years or more and we do not know whether it was an identifiable culture that slowly filled in after extinction of the megaliths builders. This type of stone construction is labor intensive and moving the stone takes time hauling (how?) up mountain sides. A hard look at these multiple sites really suggests this building program was over a very long period of time.
Why so high? What was down in the valleys that they chose to live in the clouds? Such beautiful stone work still very much in tact is impressive. The air must be pretty thin, maybe the giants couldn't breathe up that high so safe from them but what of the giant birds?
FROM WHAT I WAS TOLD, THE INCAS BUILT UP HIGH ON THE MOUNTAINS FOR PROTECTION FROM ENEMIES. BUT NOW THAT WE SEE IT, MAYBE IT WOULDNT BE AN ATTRACTION IF IT WAS JUST LIKE ANY OTHER CITY ON FLAT LAND. PERSONALLY, I COULD HAVE VISITED ANY OTHER MODERN CITY BUT I SAVED ENOUGH TO SEE SOMETHING REALLY IMPRESSIVE, UNLIKE NEW YORK OR DUBAI NOR JAPAN, THIS CITIES AINT GOT NO TECHNOLOGY INVOLVED, THATS WHAT MAKES THEM SO AMAZING!!!
I wonder if the ancient ones had similar items such as skateboards or hang gliders. If we lived up there now I'm sure some youngsters would be hang gliding off some of those cliffs. I wonder if they used wind power or flew kites ;)
These cities were built way before the Incas. The Incas just repopulated. These cities were built to survive the last great flooding........ That's why they were built so high..... high away from sea level......
If anything rivals Machu Picchu, it's Choquequirao...or maybe Kuelap...or the Nasca Lines...Sacsayhuaman? Ollantaytambo? Caral, Moray, Chan Chan. Pretty much all of Peru!
About choquequirao is about only 30% discovered or better said cleaned( remove more trees and so on to see the whole thing) in norte chico(caral) the same story only we have to do is wait a couple of years to see the real dimension of this wonderful sites.

It’s amazing what they were able to do so many centuries ago, the talent of those people , and look how it has stayed so intact truly impressed .
