Hi guys, great video. From memory there are only two types of TFI (Thick Film Ignition Module), EFI and non EFI. The EFI versions has the PIP (Profile Ignition Pickup) out signal to the ECU and the SPOUT (Spark Out) signal from the ECU for timing control. Someone correct me if I'm wrong as it's been 25 years since i've worked on that type of system. In Australia the aftermarket TFI's were very bad quality and we would always recommend getting a used OEM module over a new non original. My own recommendation was to keep a spare ignition module in the trunk along with a used fan belt. Cheers.
This is a Ford F'n Ranger. I know, I have a '99. :) These Rangers are pulling top dollar. That one there looks to be in great appearance. I bet you'd get north of 7k to 10k with her cleaned up.
I had a 1990 2.9 V6 5 speed as my first vehicle. Got it second hand, had it 11 years and loved it. Hopefully you guys will do a follow up on the router. Think I saw an upright cabinet in the background on a video.

On Watch Wes Work’s channel he was fixing a Ranger and something about using the key to start it because something electronic is looking a signal from the key switch. I’m not sure exactly what is going on with that though. Might be worth checking it out.
Yeah the newer trucks have a little chip in the key and it needs a signal from that to turn on this one’s old enough where does not have that but thanks anyway and thanks for watching thanks for commenting and as always come back and see us on the next one

In the 80's Ford Trucks had garbage ignition systems. Ignition Modules were a common point of failure on the Pickups and Broncos back in the day.

Have same issue not getting power to fuel pump or started solenoid
