I appreciate the quick history lesson before each review, it’s great commentary and makes for a much more interesting video than just listing the in-game specs
I feel like this plane is right in the middle of France's awkward phase. While it's decent, (and has better power than the A) the speed and energy retention feels like a big limiting factor on what to engage further than one pass. This is the point where you've spent some time in the early jet grind, and really start to yearn for something else, which the SMB2 ends up being familiar, but does have that "more".
Also I dont understand how on paper thus jet is better than some enemies BUT STILL get energy trapped, doesnt go fast enough, do not deal any damage etc... If this is a skill issue how am I so good with the M.D 450 which is worse? Lol
I really wish I knew. I can't even count how many times people ask me how my channel is still so small (this is the 2nd comment about it on just this vid...)
@@TimsVariety Tbh it seems really difficult to gauge the WT audience (at least to me). It probably is more mature than most other games and generally it thins out quite a bit towards the top tiers because of how badly casual players were punished in recent times. The biggest videos ive seen are either sponsored, bigger youtubers doing a one-off, meme/gimmick videos, youtubers relying on their personality to carry or videos that are overviews for beginners/new-ish players. It feels like your biggest strength is in the mechanics videos, those are how I found your channel and are a lot more understandable and well explained than any other guides I saw about them (then again, those are targeting mostly experienced players). Might be an option to make a tech-tree breakdown of air vehicles like Oxy does for tanks (basically continuing your "low-tier, fun-tier" series past rank 1), those are appealing to both newer and more experienced players. (Take all of this with a grain of salt, I played WT since forever but quit for extended amounts of time so im not the best representation of your avg viewer)
I'm going through the french and israeli trees right now, and feel like the DEFAs are the kind of guns where one's aim can go from 3:15 to 6:45 - and the other way around - in a matter of a couple of matches. They have the velocity of hispanos and the accuracy of F2 sabre cannons, making them pretty unreliable in headons ... and realshatter absolutely munted them to the point they do so little damage in rear-aspect situations. anyway, here's one for the algorithm,
This is perfect. I'm currently grinding the f-86 K with this plane. At the beginning I was a bit disappointed that I could not find many newer videos about this plane.
It genuinely pisses me off that you don't have more subs. Your content is insanely high quality and informative. You're one of the youtubers that I watch your vid and expect to see 1 mil subs.
@TimsVariety apparently to become apex WT YTer you must either 1) stretch 15 minutes of content into 30 with self indulgent bloviation and ruthlessly exploit clickbait titles, or 2) chain together killshots and post recycled, repetitive memes between each 😂
Great video Tim, you forgot to mention the 2C in game is a preproduction example (written on statcard), although there are only few differences like a „flat” horizontal stab, modified tail section, and afaik slightly different engine in a production example.
Tim, for earlier French aircraft without countermeasures, you should consider bringing rocket pods and use them as what I lovingly refer to them as “combat flares”. They aren’t perfect but they can give you a fighting chance against some of the missile you may face in these kind of aircraft. For the French the sneb pods barely affect the performance so there is very little reason not to. Also you know… if opportunity strikes go for a cheeky rocket kill. It does technically help with the ammo problem. Love your videos and keep up the good work.
Uppacing France to rank V is being pretty tricky, the economic changes have worsened the rank IV repair cost values, France is currently the only faction in the game that hasn't benefited very well from the changes
I played this not long before it was foldered under the IIA and was kind of surprised how competitive it felt. It does bleed speed in turns and takes a while to accelerate, but its combination of manoeuvrability and high-speed handling gives it something to leverage in combat. 2x DEFA cannons are quite a powerful armament for 8.3 that allow for quick kills once you get used to their ballistics(and when Gaijin isn't messing with gun damage... sigh). I also found the SNEB rocket pods to be pretty good for light CAS duties. They're efficient for their light weight, fairly accurate and high-velocity, and 2 pods that fire at the same time makes it easier to dial in a hit despite the lack of CCIP. Obviously not going to be as destructive as a load of heavy bombs, but they're a decent, cheaper alternative available to some french jets at this rank; I typically get at least one kill with them in GRB per spawn.
God, I love the Mystère IIA. Had some good results in the Ouragan, I can't really make the F-84 G work, but this just feels amazing. A great dogfighter, fast enough, my absolute favourite rank V French plane.
Idk, F-84G is actucally kinda fun though. A long as you spray more and stay out of turnfights you can score 1-2 kills and survive on the regular basis. Moreover, after switching back from F-84 to IIC I noticed that I was more effective in fights overall. It kinda felt like IIC is F-84 which does literally everything better
I love the defa's around this 8.0 ish br range they feel really great - but past 9.0 the speeds things are traveling makes the defa cannons feel more like Russian 23mm with pretty bad velocity compared to your competition.
the bullet speed is far better that the russian 23, the defa have 820 m/s in velocity where the 23 are 690m/s of couse, if you compare it to the god like 20mm M61A1 with his 1030m/s and insane rate of fire, the defa's come short but the punching power is so satisfying that i am willing to bring them instead of the 20 mm
3:10 good on that F-104 pilot for realizing that the jig was up and letting the enemy team kill him instead of trolling and making half assed gun runs until the enemy team eventually shot enough ground targets to end the battle
Given how quickly he was decelerating, and that his engine appeared to be out, I suspect that he just burned all of his fuel at that point and knew he wasn't ever going to make it back to the airfield anyway.

The French Jets get worse as you go on IMO.
The MD450 and IIa are excellent. IIC is ok. Mystere IV is hot garbage. Super Mystere also seems mediocre.
How do you only have 49k subs? I love your videos, dude. You do great commentary!
I only just arrived and the sub wave hasn't hit yet?
My assumption is because he has a more analytical approach to reviews which isnt as „easily digestible“ as more casual/meme-heavy vids.

I’d really like a kfir canard video, I think some tips and stuff like, that would be very informative considering it is a relatively popular premium
I'll get to it eventually.

One of my favourite planes to fly. Even after researching well past it I think of this plane fairly frequently.
7:47 here we see the awesome collision logic...
Macronium moment.
I love good content even when it covers a game I know absolutely nothing about, Keep it up Tim =)
Best part is, I've got two other channels that cover other stuff too! ;-)
Glad I stayed up late tonight! Thanks for the video Tim!

Pain in the ass with the Mirage 3 but with the 2k and it's faster fire rate (and maybe velocity?) and the targeting computer it's lovely imo

love to have a big button to jettison fuel tank while not having fuel tank me no happy >:( anyway that was a review i didn't expected but very cool
I quite like how this thing handles, it's just a shame BR compression fucks it raw in an uptier
I'd love to see you do a review on the f80a or the f84b USA rank V really does get no love and no airframes
Love your videos youre the man tim
Nice video,can you do a mig 21 f13 video?
Hey Tim I’m about to get the f84b maybe a review on it?
Lordy that elevator leaves a lot to be desired
Hi Mr Tim!

for the belt shouldn’t we use ground belts for the true ... something that makes spalling he succ ?

When will we get ground vehicle reviews
For the time being, ground vehicles will be live commentary rather than this review format.
Long term though, we'll see.
Israel has it too I think
Better this or regular mystere 2A
Personally I prefer the IIC (this one), its guns are far easier to use and get kills with.
