What do you think? Also, it's Bryan Abreu, not Jose Abreu. My mistake!
Great Astros don’t bother me
The astros may have cheated but I was in 4th grade im a freshman now i woulda been 10 it didn’t affect me then so I doesn’t affect me now
You have the WORST takes ever! How are they a dynasty, they cheated for one WS, this is their first real WS they even win. The Dodgers are more of a Dynasty than the astros

Growing up and watching them everyday when the Astros weren't that good, the past 5 or 6 years are just insane to think about. I never could have imagined how good they'd become.
real
OMG YES! Growing up in the 80s and 90s, the Astros were horrible. There was no chance to make the postseason with the Cardinals and Braves dominating year over year.
It's been a tough few decades. The decision to tear it down and rebuild was definitely worth a few extra years of pain. Cheers!

@@mrgiggly21 I used to go all the time and get the cheap nose bleed seats for a couple of bucks and just walk around the stadium. Now it's more of luxury to go once maybe twice a year.
As a Mariners fan, even though we got swept, I'm still glad we gave 'em more of a fight than the Yanks. Congrats Astros!
Mariners and Phillies were far and away the two toughest teams the astros faced. Seattle was really good at the end of the year they just ran into a slightly more complete team with more postseason experience.
Mariners gave me more mini heart attacks than Yankees ever did
thanks for thinking of the Yanks when talking about the Astros. Sweet!
Definitely did. That 18 inning game was a nail biter.
Mariners were highkey the Astros toughest opponent in playoffs. Phillies may have won 2 games, but that was more Astros choking then Phillies winning and there was never a doubt the Astros were not only winning, but dominating that whole series. Mariners tho put up a fight, and even tho they got swept, they made the Astros work far harder for the wins than the Phillies did
That no hitter in this world series is a kind of cherry on top.
Agreed! And McCormick's catch at the fence was the sprinkles on top, seeing as he grew up near Philly and was a big Phillies fan as a kid.
Only the second in history, then Yordon Alvarez's home run became the second longest in WS history. The Astros are absolutely sublime.
Just stop for one second and think…what more would’ve been done if we had our best all around hitter, MICHAEL BRANTLEY 🤯🤯🤯
... more than winning the world series?
Michael Brantley, the last pure contact hitter :(
Hopefully banning the shift will somehow encourage the lost skill to make a comeback. I just want to see someone batting .300 with .400 OBP and almost no home runs again. Its entertaining to watch their approach
@@austintaylor3432 maybe an undefeated postseason? 😂
Forgot about Brantley. Better production than their dh's in postseason since Alvarez played left
If Brantley played then Alvarez would DH but he might not be as effective at the plate if he had to sit on the bench most of the game.
I am so happy for dusty baker. He finally won after being known for blowing it in the playoffs and the world series. Good job man. Plus he was a former Atlanta Brave. I gotta represent

I’m a Phillies fan but I must say the middle and bottom of the rotation really impressed me for Houston. They really stepped up.
Thanks! you guys have a great team, we'll meet again ; )
the bottom of the rotation are all number 2 or 3 starters in almost every other organization. Javier is number 4 yet number 2 anywhere else. Garcia and Urquidy would be great third starters in most places. It's not quite regular season Dodgers rotation, but the astros rotation is second, and the two organizations both easily blow away any other rotation in the league.
It was a thrilling series and y'all have a great team as well. The only thing I question is Brandon Marsh's coif.

@@SupremeNKickz hahahah na
@@SupremeNKickz I think the 2017 Astros championship is more legitimate than the 2020 Dodger's mickey mouse championship season. Also lots of WS winning teams had some dirt (like half the 2009 Yankees were juicing) and sign stealing has always been part of the game.
@@ericdouglas7039 hmm for 2020 everyone had the same number of games and no fans. So that argument is void. I’d say 2020 is more legitimate than 2017
This is not only a W for Houston solidifying itself as a true sports city, but the state of Texas. Texas always brought talented baseball players, but the team's that represented the state never got the cherry on top. The 2017 win felt like an asterisk, although the Red Sox did something similar the following year and nobody talks about it. This World Series Championship definitely put Texas on the map as a baseball state with Missouri, California, and New York.

Well, c’est la vie. I’m at least pleased for the Astros for getting a World Series win that isn’t tainted by a scandal.
2018 Boston Red Sox caught cheating was something that not only you left out, but seems that the whole sports world continues to have a case of amnesia when it comes to pointing that out.
not to mention that Alex Cora is the common denominator in both the 'Stros and Sox cheating and yet he did not face any consequences.
Where is the 2nd letter commissioner? It shows many teams cheating. Yanks and dodgers
@@Burt1038 Wasn't Cora suspended for a year?
To be fair, they did beat the Dodgers in the world series in 5 games as opposed to the Astros who beat the Dodgers in 7. I'm not a fan of any of the three I'm just saying that while, yes, the Red Sox did cheat in 2018, I would argue that it wasn't as bad as the Astros' system and they beat the Dodgers in less games by a larger margin.
I'll say this as an Astros fan - you gotta let that part of it go. No one cares about that - and bringing it up seems petty, especially now.
They weren't cheating this time (most likely) - so nothing that happened before really matters. When people look back at this period of baseball 10-15-20 years from now - that will just be a footnote that most won't really care to talk about.
As an h town long lifer, this was so freaking beautiful. The whole season, post season. Just incredible

As a Rangers fan, I have yet to care about the "cheating" in 17. I'm still convinced every team cheats like that, the stros were just dumb enough to get caught
1 pissed off employee narced and the MLB started massive investigation. Multiple MLB players say they witnessed the same electronic sign stealing first hand on other team and the mlb does.... Stealing signs is as old as baseball
Yeah they all steal signs.
The electronic sign stealing was a league-wide issue. People who pretend it was just the Astros at this point are either ignorant or lying to themselves.
The '17 title is no less legit than any number of 'legitimate' titles won with steroids.
The also didn't 'get caught'; they literally had an ex-teammate rat them out. But even that rat said other teams were doing the same thing. Funny how people ignore that part.

2010s Giants: 😐
I remember listening to the day games from the back of my high school classrooms late 90s. We stuck around for many disappointing seasons. We deserve this! Best fans in the league!
You forgot that Michael Brantley was playing left field until he re-injured his shoulder to end his season (career?) . That was a huge loss to the team at the time.
He's 35 and still an elite hitter. No way he doesn't come back.
why does no one ever talk about the Red Sox cheating the same way in 2018?
Easy, they wanted Astros to be the scapegoats. Why else do you think MLB and Yankees fought hard to not release the letter MLB sent to the Yankes where they found that the Yankees were cheating 15-16? Ironically, one of the players during those years was the one that took the Yankees system and modified it for the Astros. I remember reading that when Beltran got to the Astros, he told them that they were outdated and that's when he created the sign stealing scheme.
Then there's the fact that I keep seeing Red Sox fans talking shit about the Astros. One dude that has a podcast what saying stuff about the Astros cheating and I pointed pointed put that the Red Sox were also caught and he started arguing with me. He even had the audacity to say that the Red Sox didn't use electronics. I responded by quoting Manfred saying that the Red Sox used electronics and he never responded. So yea, I think MLB was successful in making the Astros the scapegoats.
As I watched with tears in my eyes my Astros win the WS, I tip my hat to the Phillies - you guys fought so hard and were a tough team all through the 6 games! Absolutely not true. The statistical anomalies with the 2017 Astros are off the charts. No other club has ever come close. In terms of career years at OPS, K rates, HR rates - it was ridiculous. Some of those players in 2017 had OPS that was 200 points greater than their career. Too corrupt. Thank you for pointing out the series against the 2021 Red Sox. That was fresh in my mind the whole series. I kept saying after the NLDS that this Phillies team reminded of the 2021 Red Sox more than the 2019 Nationals & 2021 Braves, just because both the Phillies & Sox weren’t hot going into the postseason, unlike the Nats & Braves. Both teams just caught fire in the playoffs, winning the wild card games & knocking off 100 win teams in the DS. Only difference is one ran into the Astros in the ALCS, and the other in the World Series.. but like you said, both won game 3 by big margins whilst hitting a ton of homers, giving them 2-1 leads, only to lose the next two at home and get closed out in Houston by only scoring 3 runs total the rest of the way. At the end, you gave shout-outs to everyone except for the most important part of the Astros: the fans. I've been a fan for nearly 50 years and having to endure the tainted championship with its incessant hatred -- even from my own brother, a Dodgers fan -- hasn't been easy. I wanted and needed this win. Of all years, this is the one I really needed, for other personal reasons such as a health condition I'm fighting, similar to Mancini did. This team gave me a huge and much needed pick-me-up this year and I knew in my heart they could do it. I wish I could hug them all.
That’s great and I hope you feel better. Mancini’s feel good story really made it easy to root for him and I was so glad he got a hit.

Having Altuve, Peña and Alvarez as your first three batters has to be the deadliest combo I’ve seen.
Ever? I'd take Betts, Freeman and Turner from this year for one. If you give me 7 seconds I could come up with a few more. With all do respect to Pena, he is the weak link. He'll have to get his OBP above 300 to be considered a consistent threat at the plate. Alvarez and Altuve have a shot at the Hall of Fame, so yeah on those two.
@@juanmanuelmanzanarezjr.8015 Like I said, with all due respect to Pena. All of that is true and I just love the kid, but this is a thread about the best 1,2,3 in baseball. Can he get better? yeah. But a 289 OBP. 22 BB and 135 Ks is a tough hill to climb. Plate discipline is often a talent, not a skill. Meaning, you can only improve so much.
So you have Altuve/Betts - Advantage Betts (close). Alvarez/ Freeman - Advantage Alvarez (close). Pena/Turner - Advantage Turner (not close). And this is the jist of my comment. Not that Pena is bad. But that he's not Trea Turner. A 302/355/487 career slash. Steals at an amazing 85% success rate. And only struck out 100 times once. This year with exactly 100.
After Pena's remarkable post season, while bathing in the afterglow of success, it is easy to get carried away. But the Dodgers had three genuine top tier players, two of which have won MVPs. The original post is something a fan, whose team just won a WS, is prone to say, Again this is not about Pena (who's future is bright) it's about the best 1,2,3.
And then you have Bregman after Yordan
As a Houston fan and talking with most other fans I know, we pretty much all accept that 2017 is tainted which ironically got many people I know into baseball fans. It made for a great “redemption” arc so to say we wanted a win that was clean, and after coming so close so many times these past few years it was heart breaking each time they fell short. It’s one of the most Interesting sports narratives I’ve gotten to witness. I feel like we also have kinda become the new Yankees in base ball as well. The big bad to be defeated, which I’m also okay with but I think more than ever that fostering of talent is great to watch. The AAA team that feeds the astros is also in Houston so a lot of the people that won this series we got to see in the minors years earlier. It’s just fun to watch.

With all the scandals and losing in the World Series and being the most hated team in baseball they prove that they don’t need trash cans and Carlos Correa to win a championship
Only 5 players are still Astros from the 2017 team. Your point is not as valid as you think it is
@@corruputedmike1320 yeah maybe we don’t have all those players but the Astros are still getting so much hate and disrespect even though all the players that where on the 2017 team are mostly gone doesn’t take the fact away they still are not getting respect just because it is the same organization
@@ISE_22AD22 Ya'll don't deserve it. You lost to a worse Braves team last season.
@@soulknife20 so did the 106-win Dodgers, not to mention the Braves went 44-28 after the All-Star break, which is better than the 40-31 record the Astros posted, so the Braves were the better team by that point. They also beat tougher opponents in the playoffs than the Astros did. So the Braves were the better team.
2000% accurate. The Astros are the truest example of an MLB dynasty since the Braves in the mid-90s.
Wonderful piece!
THANKS
You mentioned cheating plenty of times and neglected to mention that most of the teams Houston beat also cheated.
Thanks for making a great video, in-depth and informative, too bad all the haters are blind and deaf when it comes to the facts. I love it that we won 22’ but I promise you one thing is that we will only get better and the haters will hate us even more than before. Go Stros 🤘🏽
Although not an Astros fan, I was in awe of what they were building from 2015 and onward. Anyone with a bit of baseball sense could see they were headed for good things by building the team from the ground up with talent, in-depth knowledge and science. Having said that, the illegal signstealing scandal shows that the players themselves were apparently not convinced they would be good enough. So, if anything, do not blame the people that called them out, blame the ones that needlessly participated in it.
And surely, other teams may have been cheating as well, but that is no justification. Furthermore, the 2022 title should not be seen as a vindication for 2017, but as a lesson of how trust is not easily earned yet so easily lost.
Last but not least, I do consider the Astros the best team in baseball right now and congratulate the club and it's fanbase with the well deserved 2022 World Series win !!!
Thank you for making this...
Astros 2017-2022 dynasty
6 consecutive ALCS
5 Division titles
4 World Series appearances
2 World Series Championships
Fans that know baseball history understand that stealing signs is over a hundred years old,and EVERY team has done it. Old school did it with binoculars and walkie talkies. 52 giants did it in the world series
I just love how fans refuse to acknowledge other players speaking out and saying the Astros weren’t the only ones doing it.
Baseball just sucks as a sport, full of cheaters top to bottom
You know, for the record. Since the baseball was first started, stealing signs was a thing. It's something that most don't talk about, but it has been going on for a long time. Yes, I am a life long Astros fan, no I don't condone cheating. But the Astros get way too much grief over being caught. Barry Bonds is probably one of the greatest players ever, but he is still waiting on an invite to the hall. A few others are in the same boat. I am just saying, yes, cheating is bad. And No, it will never stop. Every so often MLB has to "Make an example" But in all fairness, they want the cash rolling in, so they often over look a lot of stuff. TLDR: MLB has to nail someone every so often so they look like they care. Also, if you really believe the Astros were the only ones cheating... I have a bridge for sale.
I have to say that stealing signs my using your brain and eyes is different than having technology steal the the signs. There is a line there imo. It’s like spider tack or whatever. It went beyond cheating with some pine tar to getting real scientific about it. I heard some teams hired people just to make these substances. I’m sure it wasn’t just an Astro thing just like the sticky grip stuff wasn’t just Bauer.
@@sococomfort22s34 I agree. But as tech advances, I am guessing some teams will take it much farther. And I am also guessing some teams already have, but yet have got caught. Think about that. Some teams need to be made an example. I wonder who will be next?
Love the video. Btw it’s Bryan Abreu in the Astros bullpen.
Houston Astros are going to be the New England Patriots of MLB. Got caught cheating and still won after it all, helping to legitimatize championships.
First of all, congrats to the Astros. Especially Dusty Baker.
Here’s my take: The only team who could put a good fight in the AL postseason were Mariners and at lesser extent, Guardians. I would imagine had Cleveland play their “disgusting brand of baseball” against persistent Houston bullpen, it might go to at least 6/7 games.
One luck factor the Astros had was facing a rather defeatist Yankees. Since August the Bronx struggled so much to the point I predicted Houston to sweep Bronx should they met in ALCS again. And just as I predicted, the Astros swept them.
Yanks took on Boone's personality of not taking credit for losses and blaming random things. Stuff like that can't be good for your teams confidence and work ethic.
I really felt for dusty that I wanted him to win. Especially people suggesting that he's not a hall of famer without a ring which is ridiculous. I think Joe Torre, and Dusty Baker and Jim Leyland are three of the best managers ever.
The Jays could have taken the Astros down. They beat them 4-2 in the season series
@@seancharles7248 look me in the eyes and tell me the Mariners are a better team than the Jays
@@bockstaboi6638 Even with the Jays’ bad luck, they would’ve put a better fight than the Bronx “Defeatists”.
Congratulations Astros you did it for dusty and proved yourself as a hard working team
That last part is why the Astros should hire Luhnow back because all of the development was done through his hands. And you can say whatever you want about the scandals of 2017, It is undoubtedly settled that Luhnow was and still could be the best GM in baseball history.
I agree, bring Luhnow back. This new GM hast done anything tbh
Just want to point out that A LOT of other teams were cheating as well. It wasn't just the Astros.
Name one team with proof. I know your probably a Astros fan but the truth is nobody cares they cheated anymore. It was years ago!
People cover their ears when you say this.
Yea but he doesn’t care about other teams cheating. Only the Astros. He’s a hates on them.
@@mannygonzalez4178
It's really crazy how people continue to pretend that only the Astros stole any signs with technology.
Eh I don't know about that...but, I guess there's no reason to think they can't win it all the next couple seasons
They’re certainly setup to be a 1996-2002 Yankees type of threat to win the whole thing for at least the next 5yrs. Would not surprise me if they win at least 2 or 3 more in the 2020s
The Astros and Warriors chips this year were very similar in ways, not only the way the series went (both won 3 straight after being down 2-1) but in terms of significance for each franchise too. Both had titles that a lot of people didn’t respect, both went out & won more meaningful ones, silencing a lot of haters
Great content as always..
You my friend have read my mind! Great commentating!!! I still can't believe why we cheated in 2017, we were pretty effing good. This team though in 2022 is by far the best Astros roster from top to bottom!
It's pretty simple why they were cheating. It's because the entire MLB was cheating as well.
@@jamescook6564 but we were that GOOD that year. It's like cheating when you know you were 💯
@@jamescook6564 Yes, and once they could pin it on the Astros they stopped looking. MLB has always hated Houston. Even the MLB commercials during the ALCS contained hardly any Astros players or fans.
@@catinthechat01 more copium, every fan of a team that cheats in any sport always thinks the league just has it out for their team, sounding like a tinfoil hat wearer lmao
@@devonfarrar6817 no it's true I noticed that to how the TV was showing more of the other teams players, and commentators would hype up the other teams more teams like NY, Boston , I always thought that.

Yep
I was at game 6 World Series, what a legendary night ! Astros champions babyyyy !!!!!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Yes sir it’s just as simple as having great minds finding great talent and having a hell of a coaching staff!

Best team since the Joe Torre Yankees of the nineties
this video is fantastic
This Astros ring really hurts the Dodgers fans because they used to say "at least our 60 game season ring is worth more than the ring those cheaters got in 2017". Now the Astros fans can say that they got a ring that is worth way more than the Dodgers 2020 ring.
As a dodgers fan, this hurts. The astros won a real championship before us. Congrats
You gotta admit tho, him call them a dynasty is the dumbest take ever. I’m not taking away from them winning the WS, but to call them a dynasty isn’t good. They have postseason success but this is the first time they played legitimately, slapping the 2017 cheating scandal is just tacky. I don’t know, it’s almost calling them the underdog
@@UNDERSCORE035 there’s no team in the mlb close to a dynasty then.
@@larymayorquin5598 if the Astros can win another two in four years then I feel like that’s the dynasty level (not 2 WS with 4 AL pennants)

@@larymayorquin5598 true but they got potential. Hope that the dodgers figure something out on overcoming the October flu and win a WS to prove everyone wrong
I've been waiting all day for this. Thank you!
The Astros have figured out the way to create a winning culture. I think it has to do with the older players spreading the culture to the new players. You can see the support in the dugout.
This was a very good world series to watch if you are just a basebsall fan. My takeaway is how it again shows that dominant pitching usually beats good hitting. The Astros are a very good team. I have to throw out the earlier era and the 2017 team with cheating not seen since the 1919 Black Sox scandal. It was surprising how it was so widespread and like Shoeless Joe Jackson there were plenty of players who knew it was wrong but also did not want to become whistle blowers. I actually did not realize until just recently when reading the Keith Hernandez book where he concentrates on how difficult it was early in his career how much a difference it makes at the major league level to have the next pitch tipped off. Congratulations to the Astros!. This is a winning team Houston can celebrate.
10:23 “Combined with Cristian Javier, Jose Abreu” wow never knew Jose Abreu went to the Astros and started a new career in pitching
Bryan* apologies haha

This your best video!
You know, I remember when I was a little boy, whenever we talking about sports on the school yard, we’d laughingly refer to the Astros as the Lastros. I remember going into Minute Made Stadium time and time again, and I don’t think I ever saw us win a *single* game. We were not a premier team, to say the least. These last 5 years have been, honestly I don’t think there’s words for it. But its been a joy. When I have kids, they’ll probably hear about Yordan Alvarez and that 3 run homer before they ever hear about anyone or anything else.
Congratulations, Houston! I'm just hoping & praying that Chaim Bloom can do the same in terms of acquiring young talent for the Red Sox. Can't wait for April! Thanks again, iTalk!!! ⚾️💪💯
I know Dynasty can be subjective, but I myself associate it with winning. So far, 2 champs in 6 years is not quite a dynasty. They have 4 World Series appearances, but still only 2 champs. With the talent they have , and their shit division, I can see them wining again to cement it.
In a year or two Mariners can very well have the Astros fighting much harder to maintain their dominance in the division. Angles could too if they knew how to spend their money, lol. Shmucks.

You didn’t mention Michael Brantley the professional hitter he was down the entire postseason and a chunk of the reg season!
Smoothest swing of all time!
Funny cause the Phillies got caught sign stealing in 1900, The Buzzer Brigade. Just part of baseball, will still be done every year.
I remember when the Astros started their rebuild, and tore it down to the ground. I was pissed they got rid of Hunter Pence and Michael Bourn. I was wondering what we were doing, because they were both still fairly young players. But they had a plan in place, and man, did it ever work out.
