How can you tell your chainline will be off by "about 2mm". Do you look at the outer chainring to see if it is aligned with the outside cage of the FD while in the inner front gear? Trying to figure out how many spacers I need on a similar setup using a 30 to 24mm reducer.
This is a great question. Every drivetrain manufacturer has a listed chainline measurement. To determine this, you first need to find out where the frame manufacturer measures the centerline of the b.b. shell. This is not the middle typically because a lot of frames are asymmetrical whether you realize it or not. So, you contact them, ask how to find centerline of bb shell, and measure from there over to drivetrain manufacturers designated chainline.
@@chadshanks5409 Thanks for the quick reply. So if the chainline was for example 43.5mm, where are you measuring to from the centerline? Where the axle touches the BB, outer chainring? (Edit: should be between inner and outer chainring)
Great video Chad! I kind of have a love hate for the bar/stem combo. Really like how the out front mount looks really solid and aero, but not in love with the connection with the spacers back at the frame. Loved how you explained a lot of the small things during the build. I do most of my bike work myself and really enjoy the process....sharing your knowledge as others do is great for people like me. It also shows those that don't get it, what really goes into bike maintenance when they take their bike into the local shop. Keep it up man!

Awesome video. I built up my own bike and didn’t make the mistakes I would have. Thank you
A Cannondale Dream Build - 57 Minutes - my day is saved. Thank you Chad!
Great work, great bike. Thank you for this informative and very entertaining video. Anytime a good ride, Walt.
Excellent Walt! Cant wait to be passed by you. Congrats on the retirement. Great work Chad as always.
With that bike, Walt should only be allowed to pedal with one leg!! Sick!
That fork cut gave me the willies!
Me too!!!

Thanks Trey! I appreciate your feedback a lot. I also have a love/hate relationship with that bar/stem!
Good vid, have to find a way to shoot in 720 or 1080p though
It's in 1080, when it first uploads it takes like 16-18 hours for it to get in 1080
@@chadshanks5409 Your gonna regret giving Walt so many free watts haha
@@laani4898 regretted it first ride yesterday!!! He's SMASHING now!

Why not simply use a rubber mallet to hammer the cup thingy into the bottom bracket? That’s how they do it at….
LOL
Nice bike, terrible bar/stem. Only works if it is slammed, thank god they sorted it on the new model supersix!
Loved this video , great work 👌
