Couldn't believe that guy criticizing ya'll like that. Your comebacks were on point. Doesn't matter where you come from or how american you are. That old guy needed to be put in his place.
Thanks for taking care of your Dad! He definitely needed to hold on with both hands! Great job guys! And great come back for the angry comment. But even better for the apology and understanding what a difficult time it was for an old man who has spent his whole life being the one to take care of himself and everyone else. Getting old is not easy but his behavior was inexcusable. Good job on this super difficult recovery!
First video of yours I've seen, a job well done I'd say! Just suggestion from videos such as Casey LaDelle, TrailMater, MORR is that you often see them do a full walk around the vehicle just getting all damage recorded before they do the actual recovery. Gives them proof of the condition before they touched it. Oh and I really appreciate that you both clean up around these off-road wrecks but you sponsor cleanups for anyone who wants to come out and help. 😀
Thanks! Yeah we do a walk around too. The damage wasn’t in dispute. I warned them before hand. Most of the time there is no damage but it was such an angle we have to rest the front on our sling for the first part of the decent.
Yeah. I think it’s mostly just he’s used to doing everything himself and was difficult for him to let us do it. Plus, a very bad day with a sibling severely injured.
In my opinion and I could be wrong but trails get closed because people don't respect the trails by keeping them clean and staying on the trail. I respect how you guys go the extra mile to keep the trails and help people when you can . I get not wanting help but there is no reason to be rude since it was totalled. You guys did a good job
Absolutely. Put the machine back up there for him. Have a nice day….. you guys did great getting that machine out of there with the extreme grades and terrain…. Keep it up 👍
Not a fan of heights or steep ledges, but i did do chicken corners in Moab once! Y'all are some brave individuals. Glad everyone was okay! As for the trail ride - I'm willing to travel if everyone else is - I need to start seeing more of Utah, and if it's going to take a few hours and a 5 gallon jerry can to do it, that's okay! 😅
Maaaan, that last bit. I'm not good at keeping my cool, you did better than I would have. It's good to admit when you lose your chill and own it, I'm still working on that myself. You guys did good all the way around. I'm proud to follow you guys
When u said New Mexico rancher said it all , and not about being a rancher but the state he is from , but ya u did awesome job and machine is already totaled out anyways , prob was looking for reason not to pay u
Nice job under extra ordinary condition along with a S X S trail! Camera just doesn't pay justice to the terrain. How you managed to get that much iron up there and still turn it around is something. You are better at dealing with customers than I would have been. Imagine the ordeal of rolling it had to play in to this. Had this behavior shown itself while on the trail, I would have been predisposed to waiting for another call from someone else! For which all of that word salad can be summarized with just 2 words! Longer version would have included the horse that was ridden in!
I love how you immediately asked your pa to not be on the side by side ,in order for him not to risk getting hurt, of course with him not even holding on with two hands... I totally got the flood of memories rushing back to me, when my dad and I were demolishing a small green house for my uncle. For one we were in the far back country, no er for miles and of course two I didn't want him to get hurt in the first place... my dad was in his 70s already, and was a bleeder. So I had to ask him several times to not be in the area. And made me feel like a jerk. Those grand son's had to show their grandparent how to act proper at the end, what a twist. He was a jerk ,no matter what.
Like rollin 10 times isn't gonna trash it...... just because they are in a pissed off mood doesn't mean that it should fall on you guys. Don't sweat it.
This viejo gets mad as I can’t do what I used to or can’t do it as well but I usually get mad and frustrated at myself. Most folks would not do a recovery where that thing was and they were lucky it didn’t roll, tumble and flip all the way down. That looked scary as heck and I know the cameras don’t do hills justice. GREAT RECOVERY GUYS
That’s good insight. A good way to look at it. With a little more time and effort, we could have definitely done this without any damage, but I knew they were in a big hurry and the situation was bad and the thing was totaled already so I made that call myself to take the chance.
Good vid very technical for such a steep grade. My rant on public land is this: The land is the peoples and the government agencies only have proprietary management responsibilities. That is their job description they have no athority to shut aything down that the people want to use. It is our land not theirs.
@B.O.R.R. looks like if he was 20 year younger he would have started swinging on ya !! ( yall scratched front end) girl says it done 10 cart wheels !🤦♂️... told old man ! I'll dent scratch your front end !!!👊
I hope you guys get to continue to use the trails, but inviting Hollywood celebrities to live there is incredibly dumb. They will absolutely put a stop to any off-roading anywhere near them. Your state is blue enough, doesn't need to get any worse.
Typical know nothing. He rolled it 10 times, most likely totaled but he is worried about this little $100 door on the hood. I love the line "want me to go put it back for ya". He was mad, upset and probably embarrassed so he had to find something that was someone else's fault. Some people are just not capable of being grateful. You could tell by the way his family reacted that he is "that guy", they were used to him being like that with others.
you are a lot nicer than me, I wouldn't have apologized to him. he was probably trying to get the tow for free claiming you did some kind of damage , that is deplorable. I hate working with people like that. after 30 years installing cabinets I have come around to the point that when people start acting disrespectful to me I walk off their job and let them find someone else to finish the work, even if I lose money because of it, I know it will cost them three times as much and take three times as long for them to find and pay someone else to finish . I do not tolerate disrespect whatsoever and should not have to . "the customer is always right" is absolute BS the customer is almost always wrong in reality. Luckily it does not happen very often these days. the first time they show disrespect I let them know exactly where they stand and not to do it again, that is usually enough. I have walked from a couple jobs over the years though.
I realize it had 50,000 scratches on it when you got here to do the impossible, but the scratch you put in it angers me... People need to learn how to calm themselves in tense situations, not just for communications sake but also decision making and mental health. Things can be replaced, it's only money. People can't be replaced, don't risk your life or the life of a loved one. Call the professionals who have the right equipment and watch it on RUclips.
Dude mad hood damaged. I love the answer wreck it on a level spot. That side by side was at a steep angle rolled how many times then blame you guys for getting him out of the jam he was in. Thing will not be perfect because things wasn’t in a perfect situation. Dude rolled it if dude got insurance it will be covered if dude doesn’t have insurance then he’s looking for someone to pay for his mistake. I think bent did a hell of a job getting it back to dude. Not everyone can have a rig like Matt and who’s to say he would not a have did damage with the steep incline the side by side was on. Instead of blaming others for the mistake that happened blame the one who rolled it. And be happy no one got seriously injured or died. Welcome to the new society blame others for what you have done. Oh by the way scratches can be buffed out. And if there was 50,000 scratches on the rig what’s a few more for the jam you was in be thankful instead of hateful. Next time give a handshake and say thank you might help you from being so miserable. Or maybe get laid something because your fault not bent. Made this comment before I seen your ending. If dude is always going to miserable maybe anger management classes no need to act the way he did.
