@TrailMater, @B.O.R.R. And @ogmalfunctionJunction on Pritchet Canyon in Moab!

A lot of "recovery" tow companies trash talk Rory about the difficulty of recovering vehicles on Moab trails. So we decided to have a friendly trail ride in Moab in our recovery rigs instead of buggies. We invited @ogmalfunctionjunction to join us and @trailmater to run Pritchet Canyon! We actually use these vehicles on extreme trails for recoveries, not just county dirt roads! Can you guess wh...

Looks like it was time to invest in a rear bumper with a spare carrier on it that’s sturdy. Those Broncos are cheap and I would assume neither are the tailgates and rear windows.
Definitely!
It looks like the frame of your truck is not very happy.😮😮😮😮
It's been bent several times! 🥴time for reinforcing!
Like the beastie boys said, it was sabotage
One Question! WHAT WAS THAT GUY THINKING!!! Looks you had you hands full w that one. Have to wonder what that cost him!
I think it was a GPS issue took him up the wrong road. We only charged him $800.
Great to see more of Ben's perspective in this video! It sometimes gets a little boring seeing the same perspective over and over.
Ben’s perspective? As opposed to whoever else is filming at the time Ben usually has his hands full and can’t film…
Hey! That’s my favorite pig in the whole world!!
I thought Caleb was! 😁🤣
@@B.O.R.R. oh….yeah….thats who I was talking about! 😅🤣🤪
excellent job!
Thank you!
👏👏👏👏 glad there wasn’t any damage to the threads or transfer case.
Me too. Still annoying though
@@B.O.R.R. oh I’m sure but at least nothing broke 😂
Good video
Thank you!
I'm thinking it's the washboard roads, everyone knows Moab is pretty much slick rock. Or not enough uga dugas! Nice job.
Who knows. Those have Loctite on them so they do not typically rattle out.
Good morning, BORR crew!! The kids are adorable - RUclips land says Hi back! My 4 year old loves going off-road with us 😅 Still watching the video while smoking some bacon, so thanks for the Sunday upload!
Haha awesome! Hope the bacon was delicious!
If it didn't start vibrating and clanging around, and there isn't any damage to at least the last thread on a couple threads in a hole or two, I'd be more than a little suspicious of tampering. Seems rather unlikely to me that they would let go at the same exact time.
I agree!
On my trucks on these dirt roads, I go through all nuts & bolts every few weeks. Looks like you guys got the same problem. I’m guessing it’s just the vibration on the roads but things back out and drop on the ground never to be found. GREAT RECOVERY thanks for posting!
Could be I guess we’ll never know. I literally went through Pritchett and hells revenge the day before this.
Average RVer doesn't have the brains the good Lord gave grapes.
Whose, flashback of my earlier drinking days!
😂
So Cute!❤❤❤❤
Yup!
I've also performed this very same art. Funny part the local police call it a car accident! One time they even indicated that there was a bit of reckless driving involved!
Haha. I watched a guy hit a rock like this once!
Do you have a "truck tour" video? I'd like to see in detail how everything is built.. like the bumpers and the boom, etc.. and suspension (if modified). That would be a great video to make if you don't have one yet
No. But that’s a good idea. We have it in a couple videos but not one by its self.
I like that boulder. That is a niiiiiice boulder. 🫏
That IS a nice boulder!
What would be the legality of using a cordless hammer drill to put a RedHead or similar anchor into the rock in a situation like that?
We would have to get special permission. But this type of rock would break apart with any real force on it. It would be difficult to find a good solid anchor spot for something like that
Trailmater sent me here
Awesome! Great guy! Love to have you!
This reminds me of coming home from the mine at Tooele. It was like this. I drop it in granny low and the truck speeded up so I hit 2nd and got a little control. Next day we saw an FJ40 slidedown into a ditch as all four slowly spun backwards. Great job guys, I do not miss that slippery stuff one bit LOL
Definitely! Steep and slippery. Maybe my worst day haha
Wrong place to take a travel trailer of this size. Next, there will be a video complaining of a bent frame and tongue claiming manufacturer's defective equipment, and how they won't honor the warranty. I've seen it before.
Luckily there wasn't any damage to the trailer, just the hitch which they got replaced before towing it down off the mountain the next day. Very lucky!
But you got it out!!
Indeed we did!
Hey what's up Caleb we're getting the tow truck done we started on it and then we had stuff going on but now we're back to working on it
Great!

Wore my BORR shirt today so had to watch the BORR video of the day. Beautiful spot to get stuck in at least!

Lol I just let my little grandson drive last time he was out (just on my property) and he was STOKED!! Awesome recovery on that bottomless mud pit.
Heck yeah! Kids love driving!
The right tools make all the difference
You’re the right tool!
5 minute jobs reminds viewers that the BORR crew knows what they’re doing and gets ‘er done. Well done
Thanks! It’s just not as entertaining haha
I still like it mat
Mat?
Good morning, BORR crew! Excited to check this one out!
Morning!
Gosh I love this crew. You guys do awesome work really efficiently. Yeah it may not have been amazing content for click bait, but let's be real, it shows the skill of the crew and company. As a heads up to all fans, if you're in Utah county, call these guys for a recovery. I have a couple of times, and they will absolutely get you out and taken care of. They are good people!!!!
Thanks man! It’s all fun!
Wow nice recovery this time.
Thanks
This viejo gets mad as I can’t do what I used to or can’t do it as well but I usually get mad and frustrated at myself. Most folks would not do a recovery where that thing was and they were lucky it didn’t roll, tumble and flip all the way down. That looked scary as heck and I know the cameras don’t do hills justice. GREAT RECOVERY GUYS
That’s good insight. A good way to look at it. With a little more time and effort, we could have definitely done this without any damage, but I knew they were in a big hurry and the situation was bad and the thing was totaled already so I made that call myself to take the chance.
Awesome recovery!!
Thanks
Precisely why I don’t drive Toyotas, they like to lay on their sides in ditches 😂
Haha. Drove it home. Popped out the dent! Good to go haha
Very impressive video. Universally great tow pig
Definitely!
The gov loc is garbage, swap in a Detroit true trac front and rear and you will be perfectly happy. Every two wheel drive chevy and even my 2005 4x4 dually has had the govloc, and yes they do work, and I have never broken one, but I have replaced a few of them with Detroit True Tracs and they work so much better in every situation. Not to be confused with the Detroit Locker. which is my go to for off road only rigs.
Gov lock works well for what this truck is used for this truck has an independent front suspension so we will not be putting a locker in the front and is mostly used for recoveries in sand and mud because the truck is Light 5800 pounds with lots of power 8.1L
@@B.O.R.R. the Detroit true track isn't a locker. It's a very smooth and dependable limited slip. It's less expensive than a gov lock and a lock stronger.
You know I don’t understand why people who operate a wrecker business don’t have like 18in. Disk pans on their truck to have to put underneath the tires when they need to slide something sideways.
We do. But that wouldn’t have helped at all here. And you couldn’t have put them under the tires
I would love to see a super slow motion on the cv shaft being winched off
That would be cool

Trailmater..... can handle that easy.... for sure.... they know ...
Haha glad you liked it
I love Hell's Revenge. What a fun trail. Just getting around to watching this, been out camping at 5 mile all weekend. 😅 I'll post thirty more times as i watch it 😂
After Pritchet, this was probably a cake walk
This brings back memories of when I first did this trail - the fin at the beginning had me already regretting going, but I was the third vehicle in a line of fifteen, so I couldn't back out now! Once I learned about keeping my tires in the black marks, and the center of the vehicle over the diamonds, I was much chiller 😅 This video really does demonstrate just how technical this trail can get, even with purpose built rigs. I love it! Thanks for taking the time to film it and edit it - I know jumping out to go get camera shots is a pain, especially on steep terrain!
Honestly, the camera still doesn't do this justice - Also, nice Milestar tires! They grip amazing it looks like!
Yeah we enjoy this trail. It has some harder things but is still a lot of fun
Fun to watch
Thanks!
Would a straight axle conversion be the answer or more than you want to do?
Yes. Definitely but this truck isn’t going to be doing rocks so we will keep it independent. For the ride. This truck will mostly do sand and dirt roads
Smokes! That was not an easy recovery.
It was a good one
