There is a book that I am reading right now and it talks about hyper fixation, not so much about being on the spectrum but testing right below the line. It's called "Awkward: The Science of Why We're Socially Awkward and Why That's Awesome" (Mouthful of a tittle but the book is good so far.)
I am autistic and can relate to Stannis Baratheon in ASOIAF, but I also think that he is a horrible person. The trouble with representation is that I might have more in common with someone whom is extroverted than with another whom is autistic.
I got massively bullied for my space obsession when I was in grade school. I was diagnosed autistic last year (in my early 40s).
