I tried to play Slaanesh for a while at the beginning of 4th after starting AoS end of 3rd. Unfortunately I’ve found it a not very fun army to play for the following reasons: needs to give opponent buffs in order to utilize army ability. Wounds on 4s baseline almost entirely across the army. Overly dependent on a shooting unit for its main play style.
For what our warscrolls are, everything feels too expensive. We are paying a premium in points for euphoric Killers while at the same time paying a second time by handing our opponents the potential 6's that more often than not ensure the opponents hammers make it into our Squishies. Glutos, keeper of secrets, slickblades seekers, and twinsouls are our best warscrolls by far yet stack up wanting compared to other factions best. I'm still mad they took fight twice away from slaangors but gave it to chosen, and then worsened their battle profile on top of it. Crit mortals being locked behind an 8 cast spell is just so punishing because we depend on that against any faction that has halfway decent armor saves (looking at you S2D). Phantasmagoria was interesting for all of six weeks before it got errata'd and made literally were worthless. I have personal grudge against painbringers now. It makes no sense that they are our chaos warriors analogue but are worse than them in every way while being more expensive. Hellstriders are an improvement over what they were last edition. LoH and LoP feel alright where they are currently in points. They are definitely tech pieces that serve a specific roll pretty okay. The change to Euphoric Killers and companion aftacks combined with the continued slashing of points on chariots gives me hope that they could be fun for casual games if not competitive here in the near future. Daemonettes feel like a waste of time currently imo. Some hedonites players like them and they definitely see use with Keepers, maybe I just don't have enough to make use of big bricks and keepers locus ability. Fiends look cool but I don't own any. Some people on the slaanesh discord like them as a force multiplier for their hammers. Archers are still archers. All shooting in 4e got knocked down a peg and our blissbarbs are no exception. They are still solid and I think they are still a staple in every list but my personal belief is that's a symptom of everything else being underwhelming. Love shardspeakers in this edition. Our magic is meh and our manifestations are ok so they are ok but I still love them. TL:DR: hedonites feel like theyre still paying for the sins of 2E somehow. The army feels like they got lost trying to be flavorful. Most games will still be winnable, we just are going to just have to play at a disproportionately higher level to get those wins.
@@blank4227I think it boils down to the removal of summoning for 4e and the incremental depravity buffs basically being out on Glutos. The temptation mechanic was well received so they wanted that to be kept, but just missed the mark with what we got. They definitely over estimated value of euphoric Killers. It just feels bad we pay for it twice. Once in points and then again by handing opponents buffs. Still maintain temptation dice weren't a perfect fit though.
How do you think the Hedonites of Slaanesh are doing in AoS 4.0 at the moment?

Watched this video a couple times now. Love it. Definitely good info here.
I'm glad you enjoyed it, and hope it was really helpful for you! Thanks a lot! :)
These are helpful
I'm trying to understand why GW got rid of the 3rd edition temptation dice. This new mechanic isn't really good imo
I found it to be a little disruptive. Having to interrupt my opponents thought process every sequence to offer a temptation dice got a little slow
