yes I am being a little liberal with the word ‘solo’ but… you get it. Bonus points for songs that are more heartfelt/moving and more important to Rebecca’s individual character arc (but obviously more points for good vocals and generally good songs lol - gotta have that balance)
That moment when you get to number three and realise that one of the best songs in the show isn't going to make the list - what on earth happened to Oh My God I Think I Like You?
Martin Yates love that song! I only had a few spots available for not-so- heartfelt/moving songs and I chose to give them to the most vocally impressive and plot-significant solos. Oh my god I think I like you is a great comedy song but for me it’s just not the most impressive solo
@@thesacredduck1442 That is a fair response, though I feel we'll still disagree! I think personally I find Oh My God I Think I Like You a lot more heartfelt than you seem to - I think it was one of our first insights into Rebecca's specific vulnerability around love (which later gets expanded upon - I actually think her Reprise of Face Your Fears (also could have easily been on this list!) shows how in denial she is about how she puts up walls to love - we'd already seen in OMGITILY that she has this vulnerability before she really acknowledges it herself!) I know it comes down to tastes - but I find, for example Love Kernals to be less engaging and less impressive vocally than OMGITILY, and could have easily been substituted for it. Obviously though I know that personal tastes also come down to it - for example, objectively I know that After Everything You Made Me Do is amazing vocally, I find it harder to rank as highly as you because I cannot help but compare it to After Everything I've Done For You, which I think is more impressively vocally (though the breath control required for AEYMMD is outstanding!) TL:DR - I think OMGITILY is more moving than it might seem on the surface, but accept personal tastes differ!
The first time I heard Rebecca's Reprise, I had to stop watching for a while and just fell apart. The song hit something deep within me, and I still tear up at that song.

Strip Away My Conscience and Diagnosis are my personal favorites. SAMC because it has All That Jazz vibes and Diagnose due to personal experiences (not with BPD but with mental illness)
I would put a Diagnosis at one, to me it's the most heartfelt, sincere song Rebecca sings in the entire show and it seems to really fit Rachel's voice. But otherwise great list!

Not because of the quality of the song, but because I just want to hug Rebecca and tell her that everything will be OK.
