I still find it surreal that the nice children's book writer who used to do readings for the kids in my library where I worked is now striding the internet like a meme colossus, and offering syrup based verdicts on my beloved Xenoblade and David Lynch films.

Tetsuya Takahashi trying to make a lovely peach cake in 1998, forced to release just syrup. Tastes real good, but is fundamentally incomplete.
2002-2006, he tries to make a peach cake again, but is fired partway through this process. His recipe is written in shorthand only he and hid wife can decipher, other cooks end up making a bungled cake that could have been great.
2010- Upon deciding he’s done making peach cakes, Takahashi bakes a truly fantastic cake. Peaches are added to the top as a garnish.
2015- Takahashi tries making a peach cake again, but does so with gluten free ingredients, resulting in something radically different.
2017- Takahashi makes another peach cake, this time using peaches so thick and juicy it turns off some tasters. He also uses a modified version of the 2010 recipe without telling anyone.
2023- Having learned from all of these experiences, the closest thing to resolution on the original peach syrup, the bungled 2002-06 recipe, and a version of the 2010 recipe that uses peaches properly throughout._
This is the best analogy of the franchise. I'll tell This to my friends who don't know xeno so I look like a schizo.
For me it's never been a series. Xenogears is the only xenogears, the rest of it alienate xenogears. Truly a masterpiece of its own.

Xenosaga 1+2 on the DS. Always wanna hear opinions on that since they basically scrapped the original Xenosaga 2 and remade it from scratch to be like the first game and most people seem to like it a lot more but it barely gets attention.
The gameovers are annoying afaik from someone whose played it
It's kinda hard to experience since it only released in Japan and the fan translation was scrapped

Xeno saga was probably the hardest damn RBG ever the regular mobs in that game were so overwhelmingly powerful that you could barely fight like three groups before you had to run back to a save point

@@naabax1 Well, I don't really think that they could have fixed more issues, especially ones that are inherent to the very core of the game. I believe they managed to improve the overall aspect of the game - whether we're taking about ameliorated gameplay mechanics or graphics- while still staying true to the original version of the game
It could be they dislike the updated visuals. I know a lot of people that prefer the original designs of the characters over the DE versions.

I’ve never even heard of Xeno Saga 1&2 on DS, is it really that bad?
It's kinda meh on gameplay, but the rewrites (from what people who can read Japanese say) are very good, as it fixes a lot of Xenosaga 2's issues.
Unfortunately, it's stuck in Japanese, and no fan translation has finished it.

I just tried Xenoblade chronicles 1 and my GOD I hate this game. It's boring the living DAYLIGHTS outta me 😩
