Stumbled across your channel a couple of weeks ago and love it. My son who installs elevators in Minnesota turned me on to Milwaukee. That is all his company uses. The impact driver is awesome. I have used it for odd jobs around the house, replaced a large garage roof with steel with it and just finished up a front porch this week with it. Also have a Milwaukee cordless sawzall and circular saw. I'll be 66 this year and wish I had these tools 50 years ago. On another note, when I was 17 I had a 66 GTO convertible . Hurst shifter, 389 with a 4 barrel carb, 411 rear end, navy blue with white pin stripes and white interior. With that in mind I have been following the rebuild on the 67 GTO you are doing. Brings back fond memories. Your attention to detail on that car is noteworthy. Glen

Justin Avignone. They are very good tools ive had the drill and 3/8" impact for years and they have taken their toll of abuse and they have held up. Only thing i would suggest is getting a upgraded battery pack only get manufacture specific batteries as the cheapies have issues in negative temperatures (literally just not working untill they are physically warm

You've got to get a Milwaukee 12V 3/8" ratchet. I just got one a couple of weeks ago and it's changing my life. For light under hood and interior work it's absolutely fantastic. I do wish it had a little more power, but I don't really have to worry about breaking stuff since it's right on the bubble now. Anyhow. It's a fantastic tool... It's also on sale as part of a 12V Milwaukee kit at Home Depot (online only) right now. My only real gripe is that they should include the combo 12V/18V charger in ALL of their kits because that would make it a no-brainer for me to immediately buy some 18V stuff too (like the Fuel impact gun that everyone loves). It's annoying that I'm going to have to pay for what amounts to being 3 chargers when I only really one that ONE charger in the long run and they charge a king's ransom for them (and the batteries).

1 we love AvE. he is extremely specialized in what he does and has created a unique way to make a living and fund what he does to remain impartial while comparing tool brands. we should all respect that. we are not trying to be like AvE in that regard except maybe when it comes to vehicles (but if Audi wants to sponsor our race car, or Cummins wants to give us an engine, should we say no?).
2 we are an automotive building channel, our tool reviews are within that context, we will never tell you what brand of tool is 'the best' if we received it for free, and nobody has asked us to either. you will only ever hear us talk about a sponsored tool if we like it and can prove it does the job.
3 any company worth working with cares about how we represent their brand, but also that our integrity is never compromised for doing so. we only want to work with companies that respect that and help us do what we love.

    • @imsowhiteandnerdy25

Since nobody ever does negative review on stuff sent to them I always assumed there was an NDA(non-disclosure agreement) involved and the channels were only allowed to post the video with the companies approval. Half the time the NDA blocks you from talking about the NDA so maybe that why it never mentioned.

Hell I see DEBOSS added a couple point to his list in another reponse. #4 being "mikwaukee didn't know we made this video until after it was published". Implying they usually know beforehand?
But then again it #4 also said "this was not a paid advertisement" and it was in response to someone sayin the video should be labeled as paid promo... So idk maybe not.

we've never shown Milwaukee a video before it was published. Ultimately the only way to do comparison reviews is to invest in the tools. we just don't have the funds or interest to turn this channel into that at this point. we are partnering with Milwaukee to do a tool giveaway in the near future.

I recently just had the choice of what cordless tools to get as I moved into a new to me house that needs a little fixing up, and I've always worked on my own vehicles. Had some previous experience with Milwaukee, and I needed a 1/2in impact gun for wheels/ tires to speed up working on vehicles. Got the M18 fuel high torque 1/2in impact and loved it! Then I soon needed a circular saw, so I got the fuel 7 1/4 unit and it's been great too! Bought the brushless impact driver, and got the brushless drill and work like for my birthday and I've been pretty damn impressed with the power and features of all of the M18 stuff I have, even if it's not all FUEL model stuff. With my knowledge of electric motors and batteries since one of my jobs it's at a place that makes brushed motors in house and sells brushless motors and speed controllers to go with both, Milwaukee has some great power plants in their tools, and the M18 lithiums are pretty damn good batteries. Plus with the huge selection of M18 tools and myself being a DIY guy I plan to get some more tools to get stuff done around the house.

I currently own 6 Milwaukee power tools (4 drill/impact, sawzall and a grinder) and can proudly say I love them, I don't abuse them other than the back of a drill might become a hammer at times but I've had a drill fall off the roof of my truck, and its not much but it still worked flawlessly. As a new subscriber, I'm enjoying the wide variety of your well-produced videos. This episode was interesting and I felt some feedback would be appropriate, not so much for yourself, but for Milwaukee. Here in Scotland, I grew up with Black and Decker tools, avoiding the "newer" power tool manufacturers. Since I became a RUclips follower, I have been introduced to many brands that I was previously unfamiliar-with.
Over time, it has become clear(to me at least) that any tradesman who seems to know his stuff, tends to recommend Milwaukee tools. I sometimes wonder if companies who sponsor RUclips channels get much for their money. In the case of Milwaukee, they certainly do. I would imagine that channels such as this have been a great investment for them, having helped to make their brand into a "household name". Milwaukee tools have become far more widely available here in the UK, particularly through eBay, and I'm sure this is partly due to people such as yourself.
I'm binge-watching your stuff, so you might see a few more rambling comments over the next few days.☺
    All the Best from Scotland,
    Dougie.

I have 6ah and 2 ah for those tight spaces, starter bolts, manifold bolts after you break them loose it's a life saver, need a better lock that can be actuated easier while holding it in the operating mode with hand on trigger, it would also love the fwd/rev selector, sleak, a little hard to turn at times just bc not much to grip but love the low profile!!! I've used a 3/8" impact for about a year now, it's fantastic for quick demos, installs, motor disconnect/reconnects and removing cover bolts. I started with Makita cordless tools in 1989 when I was building a large log home and the roofing contractor turned me on to them. They were good and kept improving over the yars and I went from the 9.6 to the 12 and on to the 18 volt. I was always pleased with them and they have a great right angle impact driver that is the best thing ever for getting into tight places. What I began to notice was that the 18 volt batteries were failing sooner and sooner. About that time the new Milwaukee 18 volt Fuel line of tools showed up. I bought the drill and impact driver set with two batteries and a charger. I was impressed! I then bought the Fuel 6.25" circular saw. I also have the 12 volt recip saw and a 12 volt PEX tubing expander for plumbing work. They are all flawless tools. I"m glad that I made the switch from Makita to Milwaukee and I'll be buying more of the MIlwaukee Fuel tools in the future. I'll probably get a couple more Makita 18 volt batteries just so I can leave that set in the shop, but when it comes to heading for the job where I want the good stuff, I'll be taking the Milwaukee. As far as tool maintenance, the Milwaukee impact driver has been replaced under warrantee because of a switch failure. The other thing on this tool is that the forward/reverse buttons are located where your hand naturally slides up the handle and either kicks it from forward into neutral or reverse. It's not a deal killer, but they could put a little design time into fixing this one slight weakness of the tools.
Rich, as always, your videos are great. I can truly appreciate what you're up to and just keep doing the excellent work!

I am a Milwaukee buyer. I love their product. As a mechanic I was skeptical at first about them but since buying the3/8 impact, the drill, and led light I have been very impressed. the light has been dropped a couple times from about 4 and 1/2 feet and the rotating head has broke. If that can be better attached together with the two halves of the body to withstand the drops that would be a lot better. other then that I do like the product. I also have bought the old style radio, the quick connect driver 2 5.0 batteries as well as a third 2.0 battery. the batteries hold life for a good time but then again it all depends on how much I use them in a day. Thank you for the video and keep posting more, even being in the field of work I keep learning more. Thanks again.

I have used Milwaulkee on site for a couple years now. I upgraded from Ryobi one+. As you say, the poor man pays twice. Very impressed with them. Only thing I can say is don’t accidentally drop the batterys into a stormwater pump pit. The torch will still work, but the water absolutely dickers the charge circuit. And at $133 Australian for a 5AH battery, it’s an expensive mistake.

I've started buying the drills, I own 4, and I'm happy to say I charge my batteries about once a week. My Dewalt tools? I need 2, sometimes 3 batteries to do one long cut, say a 20 foot rip. Many more tools to be bought (I'm eyeballing the 6 inch brushless circ saw) and my Dewalt stuff can be retired to either my apprentices or my weekend getaway.

I recently started buying Milwaukee m12/m18 tools for my mechanic box. I love the small size of the m12 but purchased the m18 transfer pump and heat gun as well. I’m done buying dewalt because Milwaukee has so much more to offer. Recently purchased a couple of packout kits to organize and store all of my cordless stuff in.

Have a drawer full of Milwaukee. From 1/4 m12 ratchet to the 1/2 impact. Had them for 8 years now. Only problems i ever had were the big batteries like to break when i drop them. Burnt out 3/8 drill drilling stainless. My favorite was the 3/8 impact 18volt used it so much wore the brushes right out of it.

I have Dewalt started with 18 volt tools I own just about every 18v tool made , I will tell you something about the Dewalt 18v tools that I hate is the Battery release two tabs on each side some bind and are hard to release When they came out with the 20v tools that have only one button it's great. Bought 20 volt weed eater bare tool, looked around found a used 20v hammer drill . And I bought two 20v to 18v battery adapter so I can use high amp tools like angle grinder and saws with 20v battery. I personally think the Dewalt 20 volt tool system change was to fix the two tab battery release . Buddy of mine has Milwaukee tools that I have used they are great tools I'm just to invested in Dewalt tool to change. really enjoy the channel. Keep up the great videos. PS the entro with the truck on the lift is great bumper music is quick also like how you do camera changes with truck on the lift short and sweet very professional looking . Great job

I work in an excavation crew and we used to run all milwaukee but we had trigger problems on almost all of our tools then we switched to dewalt and the tool itself is great but we have had nothing but battery problems when we use them outside when it's -40 out the batteries stop holding a charge and are unusable but never had a problem with the milwaukee batteries

Thanks for putting this up. You speak the truth, man! There are a lot of great hand tools out there, but when it comes to corless power tools, I have landed on Milwaukee as well. I've used DeWalt, Hilti, Makita, Porter Cable, Craftsman (junk), Ryobi and probably some others I'm forgetting and I keep coming back to Miwaukee. I've been using the same 18v tool kit for probably 8 years now; it's built my house and sees daily use in the shop and it just keeps on ticking. Good, good stuff for a pro-sumer type user.

I work on heavy equipment for a living and I finally broke down and bought a 1/2 inch and 3/4 inch Milwaukee impact wrenches and they are the best money I have spent. My helper once left my 1/2 inch impact on a job site and it got ran over multiple times by an off-road dump truck. Came back the next day to look for it and we found it smashed down in the dirt on the haul road. Shook the dirt out of it and it never skipped a beat. If that’s not tough I don’t know what is!

Can't stand Dewalt but that was before the Lithium ion battery days. The tools I use at work are Bosch and Milwaukee with the most recent being a Milwaukee SDS brushless hammer drill. No complaints at all except for the ridiculous size of the hammer drill box which barely fits in my Knack box. I used that Milwaukee 18V LED octagon trouble light today at work during an electrical shutdown--that thing is a retina hazard. It is so bright, it will shine through your hand.

Me being in construction, I have seen it over and over again where it seems that every professional contractor I see has a variety of tool brands. Anything with a battery is makita, sawzall is Milwaukee, miter and table saws are dewalt, demo hammer are Bosch, vacuum are ridgid, everyone has estwing hammers, occidental tool belts, and red wing boots. Each brand has its place in construction. Just my 0.02

I bought porter cable Actually because a D Walt representative told me to. he said the tools were made by the same company. He had a booth set up at the Lowe’s hardware store and told me the porter cable was the best bang for the buck And that he wore a porter cable shirt certain days of the week. I like them better than my previous dewalts but Porter cable is not really aiming for the automotive industry. After working in a heavy truck shop that was fully stocked with every power tool Milwaukee makes I sold and I’m definitely switching to red. The grease guns work really good and there new big impact just blows my mind how strong they are. I’ve busted Lugnuts off 53 foot trailers with that little cordless impact when even the big snap on air gun struggled. If you’re doing mechanic work they definitely have the best variety of tools. Millwalk even makes some nice tool boxes also. Snap on and some of those other big toolbox companies are ridiculous for what it cost for a tool box. I mean it’s a box who cares As long as it’s solid. Williams tools are pretty nice I’ve bought a lot of that lately it’s supposedly some cheaper line of snap on. You can find them really cheap on eBay.

I agree with some of what you say. I've been wrenching for 30+ years . I have 90% snap on tools at work and do not regret it because I have a box at home full of craftsman , gear wrench, etc.....It is ALL garbage compared to snap on unless you step up to craftsman pro...You can not buy the same quality at home depot, not even close. Home depot also doesn't come to my shop to replace their broken junk....
When I bought my 1/2 " litho impact I tried a freinds milwaukee and another freinds snap on. I went with the snap on because it had more power and was about the same price but came with $400 worth of snap on sockets for free.....
Another reason to buy snap on is resale value .... There is a HUGE market for used snap on tools. You can expect to get about half of what they cost new. There is no market for home depot or crapsman tools......you might be able to find someone to take them for free......If they don't already have quality tools.

I love my Milwaukee tools. When they came out with there large tool box I saw it at Home Depot . I shut a drawer on it and realized the high quality for such a low price. Three years later and the drawers still shut like new. Now I want everything Milwaukee has to offer. I work construction and make RUclips videos working on 1st Gen Cummins as a Hobby. I proudly promote their Brand even without a sponsorship. There tools are perfect for my lifestyle.

Haven't had need or opportunity to try the Milwaukee, but definitely agree on your comments about the DeWalt cordless at least from 10-12 years ago.
Got them because all 8 of what was wanted came in the set, and got a great sale price of around 300$ with two charger's and extra batteries. The switch to 18v li ion from the original 12v nicad was no issue about six years ago, at a reasonable price, and all the old and new batteries still hold a charge.
Used to build my house and workshop and still use in it, along with the wife borrowing to use in her business the past few years.
My use has been mostly for carpentry and some mechanical work, so might not be what a professional mechanic would want. But for homeowners,or even in my case as a handyman business they have been great. Still working fine with no need to replace, but have no idea if what is currently available is still of the same quality.

I have had Milwaukee tools for years and loved them. Only issues I've had was due to abuse. The lithium ion batteries don't like being frozen when dead. Also the 12v drills are not waterproof. Dropped mine in a hot tub full of water. The 12v still works just not as well as it used to.

My first Milwaukee tool was a 3/8 m18 fuel impact, it's been with me for three years now and looks like hell but has never let me down. The two batteries that came with it have been left in my shop permanently which is not heated. These tools have seen -30 temperatures and have always worked. The batteries have not lost any of their ability to hold a charge. I now own their quarter inch impact driver, drill, Sawzall, grease gun and I'm happy to report that they have been nothing but golden. Working in the truck engine field for a few years, I used a lot of Snap-on tools, including a 14.4 v cordless impact that was a good tool for the time, but is nowhere near as good as the Milwaukee fuel. At less than half the price. I always bought the best air tools, and I don't plan to buy another one when I can buy a great Milwaukee tool and take it everywhere without the compressor

Diesel tech at a gm dealer, Love my Milwaukee tools. They are already much better than snap on in my opinion but the biggest problem I have found is the heads on the ratchets cannot be greased causing the selectors to stick. Would love to see them change that. Other than that absolutely no complaints

Love my Milwaukee cordless tools noly had to get my m18 fuel drill fixed once and the repair shop said that the electronics in them arent the best and fry a lot other than that super happy with it and use my m18 fuel 3/8 and 1/2 inch impact guns everyday and dont have a complaint with them only thing i had go wrond with my impact was a bearing went out of the drive and was cover under warrenty. Heck a co worker of mine when he was in the shop he would come take my 1/2 inch impact and use it cause it had much more power than his brand new snap on cordless impact

I love Milwaukee tools, the only thing I would change is to keep the fuel ratchets the same size as the gen 1 (ratchet heads). Me personally I don't care about high output torque. If it's rated above 15-20 foot pounds that's perfect. What I need is for them to be compact. I can break any bolt loose with my normal hand tools, but I can't zip them out as fast as a Milwaukee. Whenever my ratchets finally give out which I'm not expecting for years to come, I will try to stick to the gen 1 3/8 and 1/4. I removed the paddle trigger on them to make them compact as possible and I love it:

Milwaukee makes some damn good tools. The assembly plant I work in uses all Milwaukee tools for general purpose assembly tools. And they take a hell of a beating being run non stop for an 8 hour shift. We use Milwaukee in the engineering shop as well and they going on 3 years old of daily abuse. Personally, I own DeWalt stuff at the farm. Dad always had them and they make the adopters to use the new 20v batteries into the old 18v so I bought some 20v stuff. I do have some Milwaukee and will be buying more. Their work lights are super bright and last a long time on a single battery. We had a switch gear blow up at work and we set up three of those lights and you could just about tan in there. Super impressive, it talked me right into buying them.

Because I live in central Alberta, and my 2 car garage is not heated, yet. I do look at tool reviews that mention battery life in extreme temperature changes. Cordless tools get stored in the house till needed outside. Looking at getting a Milwaukee or Dewalt 1/2" impact.
