The son is right on it when he said that their family is living for the expectations and demands of others and in the process, they are not really living the life they want. Here's why so many church going folk who live these fake lives end up being a whole mess sooner or later.
As a Christian, I am not caught up in what others want me to be like. I want to be Christlike. That doesn't mean I'm perfect or that I don't willfully do the wrong things, but it means that I choose to believe that Jesus loves me and He will help me conquer my weaknesses for His Glory. As bishop of a church, there are certain standards that Bishop Sheard and his family are held to, though it doesn't mean he, nor his family are exempt from the weaknesses and pits of life. None of us are. J.Drew (the son) may be struggling because He doesn't yet know Christ, but it's not for him to place that struggle on His family as if they are just "putting on". Not going to church because there are hypocrites there is like not going to the hospital because there are sick people there.

So instead of making our own assumptions and judgments about the Sheard Family, how about we cover them in prayer and let God be the final judge and jury because when it's all said and done we will ALL have to stand before Him anyway. And His verdict is FINAL. To God be the Glory!

I feel J. Drew. I've been in church all my life praise team ,choirs church all day all week you name it. Being in his age group I see where he's coming from. Let him experience life I know his family has a legacy but you do have to let your kids live. He's an adult free to make his own decisions. In the words of Donnie McClurkin "we fall down but we get up though a sinners just a saint who fell down and got up."

Even though they are famous and yes Christians they are still just human.
None of us on here can say we nor our families do not have trials and tribulations. God uses many outlets as instruments to minister his words. We are so hard on each other and I am not even sure why.

This Is LIFE.... Even as Christians we go through the same issues as the world, but thank God we handle our issues not as the world...WE TURN TO GOD. I recognize this so well. My grandparents and mom raised my brother and I in church and I recognize J as my brother. THIS IS OUR CONSTANT BATTLE WITH ONE ANOTHER. praying for them as well as every family that's not famous because we all have the same struggles. God bless them.

So true... That verse just hit me in a new way. The transformation that takes place is between us and God. His questioning faith may just be part of the process. Especially if there is a calling on his life for ministry. He has to have his own testimony. Amen and thanks.
Them doing reality shows is off
This is the journey we walk through as young Christians. Everyone forgets it is a process the walk isn't perfect. That is why God gives us grace and has patience with us. God gives us free will and deals with us in love but He also allows the consequences of our decisions to teach us and bring us into a state of humbleness. I love that they were bold enough to show the struggles along with the successes of this walk. It is all apart of the process.
All these Christian reality shows got one thing in common!!! "PRIDE" and selfish ambitions..I love the Clark Sisters and their classical gospel tunes!! But the industry has definitely changed them.

It’s very easy to get sick of church when church has been your life, 24x7. I know personally. I grew up in the Pentecostal church in which my father pastored. If you want to be chewed up and spat out, just grow up in the fishbowl of being a pastor’s child in a Pentecostal church.

It brings views in and hype. People who don't even know the family will be like "hmmm this looks juicy".
It's not great but hopefully people will be inspired and encouraged to see how this God-fearing family stays strong together and works through trials and tribulations. I can't wait for this to air as a fan of the Clark Sisters, Karen and Kierra.
Karens face when he spoke about the church broke my heart..
I will reserve judgement but will say pray for that family. Even when the parents are saved the devil really goes after the children. you love your children but you cannot excuse their sin!

The Clark Sisters have been a long time gospel tradition and to have a close up look at one of them is amazing. Karen Clark Sheard and family will show a defining mark in victory. Getting to know Karen Clark Sheard and family will highlight the importance of living a saved, sanctified, and Holy Ghost filled life in Christ Jesus!! What a deep and inspiring experience !! I like the trailer and it shows how God can, has and will work it out alright !!
How do uou "take back" how you really feel? My prayer is that J. Drew Jr. gets to break the chains of family prestige, public persona, and religion and be who he truly is.

People will get an insight into how it really is to be a part of a family such as theirs. It will encourage and inspire others; pastors, their wives, children and alll those in ministry, that they can work through anything and stay strong.
Plus we all know how the church loves to talk but few know what goes on behind closed doors. I respect the family for opening up those doors and showing they've nothing to hide.
I Praise God For .... It shows the true struggles of the life of Christian families around the world. Real not just those who are in high profile struggle with what life but this shows that those who have a high profile have an added stress especially the children. And we must pray for them not just them but all of us that we hear God's voice and his plans. I am proud of them for allowing there life's to be transparent in this manner yet still Seeking God.

REPLY COMMENT PART 2......I actually know some inside info about thius show through one of Kierra Sheards Background singers that knows them real well and has ate at there The Sheards house a few times.. and this is not something to spice up tv and make it drama....It is not really all that scripped because the backgroung singer says that the J. Drew is real like that..no play...so this is truly authentic....I think this is awesome because people need to see us out side of church...
Been a die hard fan of the family since '97. They have blessed me tremendously through the years. I understand them. Its hard being a PK in this generation. I dont even like my parents and people hold my siblings and I to this standard. We r more inclined to do "worldly" things because our parents smother us in church growing up so when were able to make our own decisions, sometimes we dont maie the best decisions, but we learn eventually.

I love this family. The represent the body of Christ so well, and they also represent that every family has problem but GOD. I love the sheards they are my favorite. i’d rather not see there image destroyed by reality tv. I loved the show and them but I feel sometimes it can make those we love be viewed in the wrong way.

not surprised! this is real life people! I not a bunch of musician who struggle with the same thing that drew is going thru. If you watch there are a lot of musicians who produce Gospel and RnB music. Some people have no problem, for others it is a struggle. All i know its not for us to judge. Whatever the Lord has for this family will be a testimony for Hid great grace!

Its been some lyrics in her songs that I didn't agree with, but the beats were very nice, so I thought since he did the beats, then he was the one in line. But WOOOWWWW. Here is why I will not be watching the show. Until 2004 I did not know that the Clark Sisters existed. When I discovered there music for myself it was at the 2004 BET Celebration of Gospel. They sang a tribute to their late mother. Immediately I was floored by the singing and inspirational praise. If the Clarks were crack then I was hooked. I wanted to know everything about them starting with the late Great Mattie Moss Clark on down. I discovered youtube in 2008 because I googled The Clark-
We as adults have to let our children fly. Our parents did when we set out but because they’re in church they have to uphold and represent. Well dear Karen didn’t your sis Denise want to do the same thing? None of you could hold her back. I have a son and I preached the gospel to him but it all boils down to their own decision making. I am there for my son but like us he made mistakes too. It is what it is and it’s life. Frustrating as the Sheard’s son is he will learn for himself and sometimes when they think they know so much we as parents have to correct them. The more they keep on him the more he’s gonna cut up. Heck they couldn’t stop him from making babies.
J Drew is just giving his perspective of how he feels, be it right, wrong, smart, dumb! I'm more interested to see how his parents handle him because my generation is different from when Mattie Moss was raising Karen!

Yep. As a drummer myself I've been sort of a follower of JDrew. I honestly thought Kierra woulda been the drama queen because of how I think her and Karen got along in the past. But I didn't expect JDrew to come out like this. LOL. It seems to me he wants to be more "worldly". LOL
I'M WORRIED!
A Christian day school and like i said i knew them before they fame came on. They have a cousin named Tierra who for whatever reason has not seeked out the gospel fame buisness. They all were good kids just being kids, but they all loved the lord. That is how we need to remember theme and understand that they are human and we make mistakes. We all have fallen short of the glory of God, but watch their show with an open mind and consider it a blessing they our opening up their family to us.
I LOVE the fact that they have a Reality Show! In my opinion i think more Gospel artist should consider it. It shows others-believers/non-believers that Christians are not perfect & aren't "sinless" we just choose to serve God so that we may SIN LESS! They're not promoting drama but giving you the truth! Being a Christian is not a walk in the park & it's not a fairy tale, but choosing to serve him is worth it. We should use every avenue we can to reach millions of people.

Yes they filmed season 2. But it never aired cogic.. Was against the show big time. So the Sheards decided to let it go. I felt as though that it should have been more seasons. However during that time. It would have caused Bishop Sheard to forfeit his opportunity to have become the presiding and current Bishop of the church of God in Christ. Therefore the show went away so he wouldn't be in jeopardy.

See now this is good that they have a reality show cause just because this family sings & preaches about Jesus doesn't mean this reality show has to be 100% about Jesus. These are real life experiences, & I'm Christian but yes it is kinda self promoted. The thing some of you guys don't understand is that this show is not to promote Jesus all the way. They do enough of that through they're music & preaching.
Like he said, he's tired of living in the shadows of his mom, sis and dad. He wants to find himself but at the same time he doesn't realize he's losing himself. The trailer was a disappointment but it is also a reason to keep the men, women and children of God lifted up in prayer cause you can tell the enemy wants a piece of this young man. We are IN the world but NOT OF the world.
