    I never thought in my lifetime i would ever see a 2 way player.And he's an elite hitter and pitcher like Ruth was.

    He may not be the best pitcher or best hitter going by the numbers. BUT as a two-way player, there is just no one else alive that's comparable. If you combine his batting and pitching number, he is the best. And more subjectively, he is the most exciting player in MLB.

      100% Absolutely! He is definitely one of the most, if not THE most, exciting player in the league. I am excited to see what he does on a daily basis! But yeah, doing it both on the pitching mound as well as the batters box AND on the bases!?! The guy is the BEST

    I saw a couple of videos (not from this channel), asking the question "Can Ohtani be as good as deGrom if he gave up his two-way play?" Yes, I agree deGrom is the best pitcher right now. But that's asking someone to give up half your skills to be like someone else. LOL *The question should be the other way around.* Can deGrom be as good as Shohei if he play two-way. Similiarly, Vlad and Tatis Jr. are the best hitters right now (including Shohei). It's difficult to compare them with Shohei because they don't have pitching stats.

    • @MatthewBergdorf
      @MatthewBergdorf  3 года назад

      That is a very tough question and yeah I think you’ve hit it on the nose. Hard to compare Tatis, and Vlad with DeGrom and then all three against Shohei. He is by far the most talented player. With yesterday’s 2 HR game, it’s very hard to argue. He’s playing like the best kid in little league, pitching, hitting, hitting for power, and stealing bases! But it’s not little league, it’s the MLB! Just crazy to think he’s THIS good at BOTH sides of the ball!

    At the end of 2022, I want Otani to sign the Dodgers for $ 20 million for two years. I want him to play with Albert Pujols.

      @yasaijuice8717 3 года назад +1

      In Japan, it is said that at the end of 2022, Otani's contract money forecast after 2023 is 300 million dollars for a 10-year contract.
      If the Angels can't afford that amount, other teams have a chance to win Otani.

    • @MatthewBergdorf
      @MatthewBergdorf  3 года назад +1

      @@yasaijuice8717 he absolutely can command that contract! And rightfully so! Only a few teams can afford that, LA, NY, CHI, BOS. Pretty much that’s it. So I think we have our initial teams in the running!

    • @yasaijuice8717
      @yasaijuice8717 3 года назад +1

      @@MatthewBergdorf However, I don't think Otani can work with money. Because I played in MLB as soon as possible and tried myself, so if I play in Japan for a couple of years and go to MLB, I will get a contract amount equal to or more than other Japanese players who have traveled to the United States. But I didn't do that. The Angels fans who knew it became more fond of Otani.
      Otani does not like to be with Japanese players. This is because I think that going to Otani will cause trouble for the Japanese player. He realizes that Otani is a big person.
