In a situation like that, you don’t give up unless you’re completely exhausted. Unfortunately, your heart rate is so elevated by adrenaline, your muscles are so tensed, and your mind is so burned out from working overtime, that you get to that place pretty soon.

I used to live in Mexico and there were stray cats and dogs everywhere. Anyway, one day I'm up on my balcony and this cat comes tearing around the corner and there are 2 dogs in hot pursuit. The cat gets half-way down the block and I guess he just decided he was tired of running. He jumped in the air and landed facing the dogs and stopped. The dogs stopped. The dogs looked very confused. The cat just stood there staring at the dogs. The dogs started to whimper and after a few seconds, turned around and walked away. One of the craziest things I've ever seen.
