    Wonderful. Many of us have been waiting for these amazing fish from Brazil. This will change the hobby. Tetras have been easy breeders but have lacked in species. I hope the Florida fish farm industry will pick up these new species. This could save the Florida industry.

    Absolutely fantastic to watch and learn about these newer characins. But what I love the most? Oliver's enthusiasm for EVERY species: no matter how they look you can tell how much he enjoys them as fish, with something nice and observed to mention about all of them. It is hard to not get re-invigorated with the hobby with every video he puts up.

    This is fantastic. Thank you for the wonderful video and your voiceover. The Pristella one was my favorite. I love tiny fish. I hope that the breeders are able to make it widely available.

    Beautifull and intersting tetras. I wonder if some of the more territorial behaviou also protect their egs or are just scaterrers like most of them.

    • @belowwater
      @belowwater  2 года назад

      Moenkhausia and Hyphessobrycon should be all egg scattering, there are some other characins that do guard their nests.

    nice vid, very educational for Tetra hobbyiest like me. My question, can I mix together all different sub specie of tetras? Say 10-12 school of each on a 200 gal pond or aquarium or a lot bigger?

    • @belowwater
      @belowwater  2 года назад +2

      species, not sub-species - yes, you can mix most together, in 200 gallons you could easily keep groups of 20 species. Generally, the larger the school is, the more interesting the behaviour.

    Thanks again for Sharing Oliver! I guess I will try to find some peugeoti.... Did you bred them? Is it a hard one to bred? ... And the Hyphessobrycon sp ugly... 😍

    • @belowwater
      @belowwater  2 года назад

      All these Hyphessobrycon breed quite easily, the H.peugeoti breed in the community tank (other fish eat their eggs)

    What were the metallic blue fish swimming near the surface in the underwater video?

    • @belowwater
      @belowwater  Год назад +1

      maybe Knodus or something like that, the blue colour is a reflection of the blue water
