I'm making a modpack somewhat related, since the video that rat made really inspired me to get my ass off and actually do something, so now I'm making a really detailed modpack, already have made 3 very different iterations, and have been slowly working on it for a while now.
I might add this mod or i might not, don't know yet.

The dark is scary, deep water is scary, big fisch is scary, but I have a little bit of fear of places with basically no living beings, and the Neverend or Poolrooms or whatever for the 1st 2 levels is devoid of anything besides poolfish and kelp.

there is an arachnophobia mode now that changes all the spiders into something not scary. while this may sound like a troll its not i just dont want to ruin the reaction to the change.
Can confirm, the arachnophobia mode helps and it's best not to ruin what it turns into
no, you are not weird for thinking about if gravity reversed. i have already trained myself instinctually to be near any object solidly attached to the ground to grab onto just in case this very possible thing occured.

I think it's to do with the idea of "you are scarier than the actual terrifying thing here" and that can be comforting to people.

I saw a video where this guy with thalassophobia played subnautica, and his friend was guiding him. He recommended his friend lean back away from the screen so that the immersion isn’t too real, and to pause the game whenever he needed to. So IF you ever play subnautica, then maybe keep these tips in mind.
Yeah…you wouldn’t last 5 minutes in subnautica…especially outside of the Safe Shallows, and if you go into a deeper area, either go to the bottom as quickly as possible, or don’t look down

Though I don’t have thalassaphobia (honestly I find deep underwater soothing in a curiosity way) I do have one experience where I probably got the closest I could to having what thalassaphobia feels like cause I was surface diving in the deep ocean, and no matter how much it wasn’t a fear of mine there’s something deeply terrifying when looking into the abyss.
I found it cute about how ash just talking shit help her get through it
This is why I keep at least five stacks of torches with me. I feel your exact kind of fear when going into uncharted caves in vanilla.

i'd probably have the same reactions as kab on the second and third levels cause of my fear of the dark and having the levels get progressively darker. shit looks traumatizing

Stranded in the deepest darkest depths of the sea with no where to hide… no place to run… and no one to turn to… you may be on your own but you are not alone.
I'm still a bit confused how a digital ocean triggers fear given you are normally super amazing, but it's good you went back to challenge and conquer your fear. Still, that anglerfish clearly has some bugs if it can't sense a poolfish that close by.
logically speaking it makes sense for it to go for the bigger prey

Some people have a very high fear of something. For me when i play games in you have to high on building my hight fear triggers. I have to tell my brain its not real it just a video game
Your brain existed before computers and while you, as an educated creature, can tell the difference between a digital ocean and a real one, to the instinctive parts of the brain that react to danger, it doesn't really matter. It just sees the danger and reacts to it.
night time, you're on the sea with no island in sight. Imagine what would be in the depths of the water, just you floating in the cold cold water. BEING AT THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA IS WORSE
The thing I'm most afraid of is being alone, the darkness( not being able to see), and getting yelled at for something that is my fault. Can't even imagine what that would look like at the start of the videos question!😢😊

The gravity to the sky part is so me though because I am so afraid of heights that I can’t even look at the sky for more than a minute without holding onto something because I genuinely feel like I’ll just float away

The only really bad thing is the grandgesier itself and how dark level 3 is
There’s actually something like level 3 of this in the Alex’s Caves mod called the Abyssal Chasms that can be found in the ocean I suggest playing it

One thing that freaks me out about water is that there’s this bridge in my town and below it is a huge body of water and you can’t see inside the water or how deep it is that freaks me out, and I don’t even have thalassaphobia

You should definitely play subnautica, just don't go to the egological dead zone cause from my experience as a thalassophobic boi was traumatizing
I was there for the stream and let me tell you this holy crap did it feel like a fever dream-
1:00 in doctor4t's video on this dimension, he mentions that the grandgousier isn't even an adult
8:25 subnautica base game isint to bad being that you can see really far away and for most of the game if you cant see the bottom you already have submersibles and submarines
If you do play it a couple peices of advice
One rush the stasis rifle, if you can freeze enemies in place its so incredibly helpfull and you can just get a little break
2 your knife can drive 90% of creatures away from you in only one or two hits
3 play it on stream so chat can help you and keep you company
Honesly one of the best games ive ever played good story its interesting and its fun with good mechanics that dont revolve around just being in the water so much
I was there for that stream, and it was a fever dream

i also have that phobia but its a little more tame i dont freak with not seeing the end i freak out at the thought of possibly DROWING i actualy am petrefied if im in water and i cant swim so that just makes it worse and i cant even learn how to swim because of it i understand your pain when u get into the last one (also i gained the fear from my gawd dam brother ignoring me when strugling to stay up and when i was underwater BLOCKING THE WAY UP)

I'm not surprised you're scared of almost everything that involves water (and whatever is associated with it aka that giant angler fish) but you being a very brave girl despite your fears makes it awesome for everyone else whom has thalassophobia or phobias similar to it, you *INSPIRE* to face your deepest fears & phobias & you should be proud for making it so far despite your fear.

The main reason why you probably weren’t as scared when ash was fighting with you during your first trip was because the arguments you two had took your mind off why you were scared in the first place. Taking your mind off of your fears by thinking of other things, like an argument, makes the situation less scary
a dark room with a very big fall actually sounds less scary than a light room with a very big fall

I love how both lux and winsweep have responded and doctor4t invited you there with booster joining stream but I would *COMMIT ARSON AND TAX FRAUD* to see you jump off that platform into the abyss
this mod would go so well with a proximity chat mod, hide usernames mod, and if the voices echoed and drowned out in the water to give it a more realistic approach
I adore the thumbnail art on this and the Eldritch mod videos. All of them really, but these two especially.

Fun fact: Did you know that sometimes submariners aboard American nuclear submarines will be allowed out for a swim? Unfortunately, having the submarine left breaching the surface for a long time is a huge security risk and goes against all the rules, soooo... The submariners get out to go for a swim, and the submarine resubmerges under the water. And it's just them.... and miles upon miles of open ocean in all directions... and the things that dwell in the deep.

I just had the coolest idea.
Neverend + all of the good dwellers + that one herobrine mod (in the fog?) + maybe some other good horror mods
Maybe spawn in some of the stuff you’d get in skyblock too. Like, a lava bucket, a sapling, some dirt, maybe some moss.
Get a big group, most of which don’t know much about any of the mods, and let chaos ensue for a stream or a few.
I made a dnd thing that's very meme heavy and one of the areas is inspired by this stuff but it's a beach then the ice on and the players slowly descend into the depths onto a metal bridge held by chains
