What a great post! I saw this BAND of masters at the Hollywood Bowl "Miles Davis Day' in Los Angeles. It was a life-changing experience for a 21-year-old musician. Stern & Evans had just debuted on the scene via the release of 'Man with the Horn' marking Miles' return to public life. A great piece of history to re-live here. Miles' magic sprinkled all over the jazz world with his return. DIG IT!

I understand this, his sound is that unique that you have to love it, or you just don‘t like it at all...
For me it‘s one of my favourite sounds, because with the chorus he wants to sound as wide as possible, with a warm-horn-like-sound... and for me the thing is, that if i hear that sound for only one second, i know that could only be Mike Stern playing...
So i think he is one of the players wo have really created his own voice with his effects :-)
