    Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan have a lot of connections actually: This song that was later written as "Second Star to the Right", Kathryn Beaumont did the voices of Alice and Wendy, Bill Thompson who did the voice of The White Rabbit also did the voice of Mr. Smee, and Heather Angel, who did the voice of Alice's sister did the voice of Mrs. Darling. Both girls wear blue dresses, bows in their hair, black shoes, are English, and their stories revolve around their adventures of imaginary lands.

      Not only that, but they also used the same singing groups, namely the Jud Conlon Chorus and the Mellomen. Plus, in addition to voicing the White Rabbit and Smee, Bill Thompson also voiced the Dodo and ALL of Captain Hook's pirates.

      Also, in the very first shot of Pinocchio after the credits, there's two books that are in the background. Those two books? Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan.

    Beyond the laughing sky is my favorite deleted song in alice in wonderland and I love listening to songs that are deleted or thrown up at the Disney studios and especially listening to these songs in storyboards but I'm stuck with in a world of my own because that was great but beyond the laughing sky and the second star to the right really have a similar score to each other but I'm so sorry for the songwriters who did these great songs in the past that made Walt unhappy with it but you make us proud today.

    It kind of reminds of something Richard Stilgoe (original lyricist of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera) once said, “If a composer writes a tune and it doesn’t end up in that particular show, you put it away and bring it out for another show. Whereas, if you write a lyric called “Oklahoma” and it doesn’t get into a show called “Oklahoma “, it’s obviously no good for Carousel”.

    • @reneastle8447
      @reneastle8447 5 лет назад +1

      I completely agree with what you said, Sean. Songwriters, composers and lyricists can try to concoct something suitable for one show, then cut it out and put it in another.

    • @MediaLover194
      @MediaLover194 5 лет назад +2

      Rodgers and Hammerstein did that all the time.

    • @oliverbrownlow5615
      @oliverbrownlow5615 2 года назад

      I think Sean's point is that lyrics usually arent as easily tranferrable from one story situation to another as melodies. Thus, more of the good work of lyricists ends up going down the memory hole, and lyricists have a somewhat harder job than composers (which is arguably true in any case).

    "Beyond the Laughing Sky" is an interesting song. I had no idea they had to take that song out of "Alice in Wonderland" and re-hash the song's melody for "The Second Star to the Right" in "Peter Pan". Also, the artwork that the song was playing, does anybody know who did the illustrations?

    Walt Disney, you are a really awesome man. You’re the guy who proved that animated movies are not just for kids, and that the whole family can watch and love them too. You speak the truth by saying “Laughter is timeless, imagination has no age, and dreams are forever,” “I do not make films primarily for children. I make them for the child in all of us, whether we be six or sixty,” and “You’re dead if you aim only for kids. Adults are only kids grown up anyway,” as well as your quotes about animation being suitable for everybody in the whole world, and the fact that your films have less childish moments and more mature moments. Yeah, Walt Disney, you are a really nice guy. Most of your movies are very family-friendly, they are cult classics, and extremely 100% ambitious on being meant for both kids and adults, and Alice in Wonderland is one of them. So since you usually speak the truth, Walt, I’m sorry, but I definitely 100% have to say that you saying that Alice has no heart is the only false thing you said. It is the only lie you ever said. Everything else you says is true, but saying that Alice has no heart is the only bad one. You upsetted me so much by saying that Alice has no heart. I can’t believe you said that. You were wrong about saying those false things about Alice. She is nice and cute, as well as mature, and that she does have a heart. Don’t worry, you’re still an awesome man for making your movies 100% intended for the whole family to adore and enjoy, but you saying that Alice has no heart is the only bad thing you ever said, and that’s it.

      That comment from Walt really upset me too. I think he said it because Alice in wonderland flopped when it first came out apparently.. and he wanted to distance himself from the film. I find him ludicrous to say that when he had so much involvement with Kathryn Beaumont in the film…

      Alice is underrated okay? She is underrated and likable. She is soooooo nice. Her name means noble and kind. She does not deserve the hate she gets at all. She has a heart. She has a personality. She is not boring at all. Same thing for her best friend, Wendy, same thing for Aurora, same thing for Ariel. Alice, Wendy, Aurora, and Ariel are all very, very, very underrated and they do not deserve the hate they get at all. No, none of them deserve the hate they get. I am a gargantuan fan and defender of these 4 girls, a GARGANTUAN defender of them.

      There was an episode of Fox' animated series Peter Pan and the Pirates which dealt with that very possibility. In the episode, Wendy wrote her own version of Alice with everyone on Neverland, including Captain Hook and his Pirates, as the characters! A well-meaning spell by Tinker Bell makes this a reality, with Wendy as Alice (with Peter along as an unscripted companion!), John as the Mad Hatter, Captain Hook and Smee as the Queen and King of Hearts, the Pirates as the Cards, and Michael and the Lost Boys as all the other characters!

Otherwise the other singer's identity would most likely had been known by now.
