Hi! I know I'm late to this video, but I just bought one of these mixers used! I primarily mix analog vinyl. My understanding was this unit had onboard effects which worked on analog vinyl without a laptop. However, on my unit, whenever I engage the effects (select effect, select flexFX for desired channel, select ON) all sound cuts out. Is this because I need a laptop with Serato connected or do I have a defective unit? Any advice is much appreciated! Thx!
Quick question, I have owned this mixer since July, and no one else I know runs this mixer or any other Rane mixer... Have you noticed anything weird with the sound quality?.. like the mixer puts out to much highs to mid-highs and not enough mids to low? I have used pioneer/vestex/Berhinger and Rodec mixers, and I never noticed the issue with any of them, so I was wondering if I maybe got a lemon
no what I was asking is,the on board mixer effects, can they sync to the bpm of the playing track, or can they auto detect like a pioneer djm mixer, or do you have to tap the tempo everytime?
hi how do u assign the effects to the mic flex effects button? i have all the options marked as well but dont know how to get it to work on the mixer.thanks
Thanks for making the video, but it was the robot effect run through the mic channel that I was really hoping to see more of. Surely that's the main purpose of it.
question o_0 if i use a external effects device on the insert threw the 62 when using the bridge in mixtape mode will it record the effects with the audio?????
In the setup menu on the hardware page, there's the option "Allow MIDI assign of mixer controls." You need to have that option checked. Then you can MIDI assign anything on the mixer (like the mic section for FX, in this case).
That is a shame your fader bleeds. If you haven't tried it already, take off the faceplate and see if the sensors on the cross-fader are positioned straight up. If their not straight up, reposition them and see if the bleeding stops. If not, return it bro.
No need for a official case.. Pelican cases are pick foam ready make sure to get the right size and pick foam it out. you will be fine or get a odyssey case from agiprodj.com

Im having difficulty mapping my usb insert (dj-fx). It's not allowing me to assign to a knob. What am I doing wrong?
is there a way that the effects auto read the bpm rather than tap sync?

how do you midi map the on & off button of the efex on the mixer?? I tried to midi mapping it to the same ones you did & it doesn't do it.
