Did you know that in the EU (specifically the Netherlands), you don't pay property tax until you own your house outright? Also, it's illegal for pharmaceutical companies to advertise to the general public. We can't implement social programs effectively until we reduce our spending, make Super PACs and lobbying illegal, and hold politicians accountable for poor financial management. If they go over budget, they should lose their jobs permanently-that's accountability. Instead, they overtax us to pay back loans to their bank buddies, which is a direct result of their poor spending

On a gut level I get the feeling, but treason has a very specific legal definition and proving it in court is extremely difficult. Also the First amendment is a very powerful shield, his defense COULD make the argument his language leading up to the insurrection was protected speech. Unfortunately, it is that close. The outdated Electoral College system that the USA uses is the reason for the existence of "swing states." Eliminating this system in favor of a popular vote would do away with the Electoral College, but for now, it's the Electoral College that determines who wins.

50% of SSI counts towards taxable income. This was part of the tax reform passed by Reagan.
You only pay a tax if the SSI puts you into a taxable income bracket.
The tax brackets make things nuanced by a persons total income.

SSI is Supplemental Security Income, not Social Security. SSI is given when people (at any age) become disabled to the point they cannot work. Social Security is awarded after a person reaches a certain age and has paid into that system for all their working years.
