Anybody else listening but not watching the visual video notice how much Gerry & Ty's voice sound almost identical?
They both have retained that beautiful & unique S. Texas soft southern drawl (Powers Booth had it as well) that's just so easy on the ears, I could listen to all three talk for hours, their speaking voices are as wonderful as their singing ones, yes?

You're right. It's like watching guys who grew up down the street or went to your school, but they also happen to make the best sounds you've ever heard when they get together and turn on those amps and hit those drums. Truly an energy they share with each other.

I'm so ticked off because I pre-ordered the Limited Edition Exclusive LP set and now it's not even coming. And this was from Amazon! Now I'm having to pay a lot more money to get the regular, white, copy of Three Sides o f One produced on LP.
Anyhow, I was so happy to hear in this interview that it's all analog!!! And I didn't even know that it was 45 rpm as well! Music is supposed to be analog and digital is not the way to go. One record label, Mobile Fidelity, is going through at least three lawsuits now. They had been leading people to believe their productions were all analog up until a few months ago when the truth came out. It's great to hear that when I finally do get my copy at the end of September, and not from Amazon, that I pre-ordered a month prior to the September 2nd release, it will be an all analog 45 rpm jam fest! That's the way it should be done so thank you King's X!
I've been a huge King's X fan since around the time Gretchen Goes To Nebraska made it big In the 1980s. Immediately, I went out and found the cassette tape back then for King's X's first album. And I really didn't get into it at the time. I don't know why? But about 6 months later, driving from Spring, Texas up to the Hot Springs, Arkansas area to see an old girlfriend, I had my cassette tapes holder box and I put in Out Of The Silent Planet. I was blown away by how great that album was. I was driving up Highway 59 with pouring rain so hard I couldn't see anything for about 90% of the trip and I had left about 1:00 a.m. on my trip so it was night. I don't know how many times I listened to that Kate and the other, newer Gretchen Goes To Nebraska cassette. In fact, maybe I'm getting old and my memory is fading but I thought I had two previous cassettes from before Gretchen Goes to Nebraska? Whatever the case was, I was blown away by the band and started paying close attention to them.
I'll never forget the first time I saw them live, right after Over My Head hit the airwaves, at the Tower Theater in Houston off of Montrose. I was up there at the very front of the floor and practically 5 or 10 ft away from the band themselves as they jammed. That was one of the best concerts I ever saw and still is even in 2022. I then went and saw them over at the Sam Houston Coliseum when Galactic Cowboys opened for them. They were on fire and I couldn't get enough of the King's X sound and music. Those sure were some good days in the 1980s.
I also remember in 1996 or maybe 1998 when I walked into a record store and saw that Machine Head had been released. That was another mind-blowing album that is one of my favorites from King's X. I was living up in Denton, Texas at this time. And this is about the time I had started finding some of the unreleased, live shows recorded by audience members. God bless those bootlegs!
I'm glad to see that the three guys are back and finally putting out a new album. But hearing that it was all analog, and the way that Doug described it in the interview here, just bolsted my enthusiasm to finally get this. I didn't want to spend the extra money It is now going to cost me since the album went way up in price after September 2nd. But since I got jipped by Amazon, and since these guys have always been a part of my musical life, I'm going to have to go ahead and pay for the regular version and get it. I'm blind nowadays and I'm on a fixed income. I was looking forward to that exclusive limited edition with the extras and I had budgeted to get it only to get screwed by Amazon. It's going to wind up costing me more to get the non-extras version of the album then it was going to cause to get the Deluxe Edition that is numbered. But I chalk it up to at least still get to hear the music from one of my favorite bands. And it's not going to be digitally streamed or some sort of digital sourced music... Even though it does come with the CD too of course haha. But I'll be listening to the vinyl!
I thought it was interesting what Doug said in this interview regarding vinyl. I've always been a vinyl head. But I haven't been able to do a whole lot of vinyl purchasing and collecting until I got back into it again about a year and a half ago. I had no idea vinyl was on the upswing and becoming popular again. I just always wanted to get back to the better sound. And there is no replicating that true sound especially when it is from a 100% analog source! I haven't bought anything except vinyl since the mid part of 2021. Heck, I paid $95 just to get the 2 LP Gretchen Goes to Nebraska RSD copy of the album. And omg, talk about an audiophile version of that album. It is flawless and so incredibly perfect sounding. My original 1980s LP copy of this album never sounded as good as this one does. I'm going to put it on and play it right now.
One other thing I wanted to mention about King's X is how glad I am they do so many RSD, Record Store Day, releases. I save up my money each RSD and RSD Black Friday while keeping a lookout to see what King's X might hopefully be releasing.
Like I mentioned, I'm legally blind and there will be some errors in this message even though I am going to try to proofread it. Google is not that good at typing what I say. I'm glad to see King's X is back again and hopefully things will just continue on and get better and better. Thanks for the years and lifetime of great music guys!!!
