Evan, tip, you don't need to go out to add an extra room, you can do it from the inside, the same way you put a window, you can expand from the inside :D
Just started watching this stream VOD and noticed that Katelyn was crafting the water bottles one by one entering/exiting crafting station for each bottle... idk if you discover it later on in this stream, but if not - here's a QOL tip... when using any crafting station, press and hold CTRL and left click whatever you want to craft... this way you will stay in the crafting menu.... Same thing if you want to move multiple of the same item to/from your backpack - CTRL+LMB is the answer to do it much quicker... EDIT: ok, you did learn that later in the stream
I would hold off from opening more chests when exploring for when your teriformation index is higher. The loot is randomized and how good it is, is tied to how far along the teriformation is.
As others said you should avoid opening too many chests until you are farther along because the loot depends on your TI and there's stuff later on that only shows up in chests. That's a problem I had because I played early access and opened like everything very early. You should focus on increasing terraforming by building more stuff. Also lirma seeds are VERY IMPORTANT because you need them to build stuff more and more. You guys keep throwing them away!
Seeing Katelyn just swoosh by SO.MANY.SUPER.ALLOYS hurt my soul at the 35 minute mark 😭 I guess there's pros and cons to watching lets plays of games you've already played yourself 😅
Once you build the recycler you can turn the iridium and uranium into the rods for compact storage and If you need the ore form just throw a rod into the recycler and boom you’ve got 9 ore again
XD my habit of slapping beacons by every wreck, lab, and interesting cave means watching ya'll go and *not* I'm like 'but. duckwreck! millenium falcon! the stargate!'
You need to plant beans! they give you the most health you hardly need squash. They also lead to better food down the road. Also on the vehicle station there a button that returns the car to the station. You dont really need to worry about the ramp. suggest getting algae growers asap. They produce a lot of oxygen.
Beans give you the most food, very important early game. Also when you drop items rather than put them in a chest they eventually despawn so be careful doing that
you could make a staircase down to the vehicle bit so you can place it closer to the flat area and angle it so you can access the panel easier and the ramp leads straight out into the open?

I knew you guys would get addicted to this game, it gets a bit grindy during a few stages, but if you pay attention to the screens and see where you need to improve to get the next best machine you can get the numbers going up without grinding too much.
I believe when sending off the rockets, the closer to the ground you are the closer most of the loot should be But when you are up in the air, the landing range is bigger I heard that from RCE who played and he would stand on top of the rockets when he launched them 😂

Half an hour in and I don't think I've seen Katelyn's screen once, even though she's exploring new areas. Instead I'm staring at Evan's inventory. Sorry to be negative but ngl it's kinda frustrating.
Katelyn was the big screen for a few minutes starting at about 13:40 ! Then she got switched away from because Joob came for attention 😂 But I do get what you’re saying because at times I do wish I could switch between the two at will; since I like to see both the base grinding stuff and exploration stuff. Plus for a good while in the first half an hour, Evan was exploring as well, while Katelyn was doing gathering in her Blue Area.
I know it’s not the point, but if you switch to mobile, you can easily zoom in and out on any spot during a RUclips video and then you can dictate what is most important to view in that moment. If recorded and uploaded correctly, which Evan usually does well at, it won’t feel or look like you’re viewing a grainy zoomed in image. It will be equally crisp & clear and a simple tap or double tap back and you’re back to full screen RUclips. I understand and appreciate that you’re unhappy with how it wasn’t displaying exactly how you’d like it to, but sometimes we have to take responsibility and actions to adjust to our expectations. It is impossible to stream a 2+ viewpoint video and always prioritize what the viewer may wish to see more prominently than not. No one is going to agree on this and that’s okay. So pinch, double tap, crop the browser window if you so desire; whatever allows you to view exactly what you want when you want and cut the creators a break as they are simply human, with no ability to read someone’s mind, nor please a crowd of millions.
anyways i understand that because i was mad for the same reason but it is quite difficult to play and be like “oh whos doing something more exciting” and switch every time something changes
punching the ground while watching them put the growers in the extra living compartment instead of the biodome when it was such a good opportunity thematically to put them in there (idk if putting them in the biodome would make them grow faster or not? I know the description mentioned something about being a good place for plants but I don’t have the game so.)
Sadly, ateast when i played last, plant growth does not improove in the biodome, but yeah, thematically i think its a missed opportunity if they dont patch it in or something:)
im only 30mins into the vid, not sure if you figure it out later in the vid but a good tip is when crafting multiples of the same thing (either in the craft stations or buildings etc) you can hold CTRL to craft multiples. you can also mass transfer a single type of item between storage/backpack by holding CTRL and clicking. for example all your iron and only iron from bag into a chest or viceversa
step 1, mine elements step 2. use elements to make robot that mines elements. step 3. step 3 craft more complex robots to do all your jobs for you. step 4. craft robots that are able to craft robots. step 5.??? step 6 Am become God.
You guys should try No Man's Sky if you like space games! It's different than this game, and it's more quest/story based, but it's amazing. You can build your own bases like this game; on planets, including underwater bases, freighter bases (kinda like a space station), have starships and fly around the universe, fight pirate starships, and literally has 18 QUINTILLION planets to explore/discover. You can also name planets and claim areas to build bases. it's such a good game and the story is also just as amazing. Check it out if you haven't already! Probably wouldn't work for a stream/YT (but maybe if done right), but you guys seem to love space as much as I do, and I absolutely loveeee this game.

And the banter seems different. I don’t know. I just love them. They are brain comfort food. And I just feel the vibes are somehow off. Maybe it’s just me. I started playing because of this couple and I am hooked. I played the demo 5 hours straight and just paid for the full version. So far I love the low stress of no wildlife dangers.
Not sure if it's the "golden" chest your looking for but back at the wreck with the high up window there was a yellow looking chest right outside the little base you built under some metal pieces. It was right after you found the blue chest under that large open area under the wreck. Hope that helps! Also love watching the videos you guys are awesome!

this game clearly needs automated rovers that you can send out to other bases and pick up materials and move them to another base. with a living pod on the back so you also work in it and use it as a mobile oxygen base.

Evan "ADHD" Shortsight runs off and stakes his claim... hanging off the edge of a hill. Not seeing, of course, two steps to the left and two steps forward a large open flat place to build. He continues his hyper excitement by slapping the massive rocket launcher pinched between rocks and hanging off the other side of the hill, again ignoring the luscious open expanse literally right outside the hill-hanging front door. I'm glad to see you two getting to this game finally and hopefully enjoying it. There is a story/mystery aspect of the game that will unlock as you explore. Often deconstructing older things is a good way to reclaim materials once you get their upgrade. You two might beat me to the DLC content once you complete this one. There's some fun endgame stuff in this game. Cheers.
Another tip, you should only construct buildings when you know you are going to use them (you could even construct and deconstruct) to "save" power. So you could deconstruct the space lunch platform

Another tip, you can just fly up and over mountains using the jetpack. Just fly at a vertical surface and you will be able to scale it

You can use the basic platforms to get across gaps so you don't fall into the crevices and cracks.
Could they make a sleeping quarters under the bio structure, using the half round corners that soon will look out to the lake.
