    I like Beckett Simonon, because they’re Blake stitched, so they’re resolable and no “brake in” needed, super comfortable right out of the box and very affordable.

      They are great! I think the leather is just as good but I do like Blake stitching. I think for those who need that extra comfort, AmberJack could be a great option.

    The best part of this review was how you opened with your own personal, relatable story about what you’re looking for in a dress shoe and what lead you to a product like this. Also, I was blown away by how you were able to answer quite literally answer every question I would have and all of the important information for me to feel like I could make an informed purchasing decision in the span of just 6 minutes! Great review 👍🏼

    Back in the college years, the dressiest I wore was Bass Weejuns loafers. It was aesthetics and “the look” over comfort at 20. Most frat guys didn’t own socks, so comfort was a passing thought. But, after a 100,000 miles of walking over the years, a man’s feet beg for comfort first and foremost! The fact that these shoes combine good looks with obvious comfort is a win-win.

    • @gmcrealman2890
      @gmcrealman2890 4 месяца назад

      The leather soles of the Bass loafers was anything but durable and needed re-soling after six months of urban campus wear. Slick as glass soles for a good month as well.

      @@gmcrealman2890 thanks for the feedback/self experience!
      I try to explain that comfort is the goal here and sometimes the classic dress shoes aren’t comfortable to some. Especially being on your feet for majority of the day!
      These shoes offer comfort and what I believe to be aesthetic as well. The insert is heat activated which means they will conform to your foot after a few wears. I find this to be true with my loafers I have from them. They are very comfortable! That review will be coming later down the road.
      Thanks again for sharing!
      Also, are you a size 10?

    Good review, I value comfort but also value. I think it’s the old buy once cry once is particularly true. For 200 dollars I expect a good quality product, not to say these aren’t but the glue being exposed is not a good sign. For 200 you can find other brands utilizing a goodyear welt with quality stitching.

    • @lantzkulp
      @lantzkulp  2 месяца назад +1

      I can definitely see your point and I don’t disagree. I think it just goes back to what the buyer values most. I think AmberJack is for those who value comfort over a Goodyear welt traditional shoe that may not be comfortable to them. I hope that makes sense. Thanks for watching and sharing your opinion! I love this community!

      @@lantzkulp I have a few goodyear welted shoes and that’s the exact reason I found your review on amberjack. Being in shoes all day it is very important to be comfortable. It’s a challenge to find that happy medium

      @@Hawk-mc3ch It really is! I have a couple great pairs of Beckett Simonon and Thursday shoes/boots and I absolutely know what you mean. You're 100% correct on finding that happy medium. I do know AmberJack has stated that they are working on a resolable program with all of their footwear. Might be something worth justifying if they have a zero charge program?

    Sorry. I have never seen such ugly and cheap looking shoes. The workmanship also looks pretty bad. Well-made shoes with leather soles are also comfortable. You just can't buy cheap. 200$ for shoes that look so cheap and then also have a glued rubber sole?

    • @lantzkulp
      @lantzkulp  4 месяца назад +1

      I appreciate your opinion. I think some people don't find leather soles as comfortable as others. It depends on the wearer, obviously.
      I also think you have to consider the materials at use. The rubber is a high quality materials and so is the leather. In terms of comfort, old school shoes utilize a stacked leather heel with rubber. Also with a small leather insert. Some find those too harsh on the heel after wearing the shoes for an extended period of time. Ugly and cheap is an opinion, but the leather itself is just as good, if not better than Cole Haan. I do however agree with you on the glued rubber soles. I wish they stitched just like other brands such as Thursday Sneakers.
      In the end, I think this comes down to the person wearing the shoe. If they value comfort but don't like the old school feel, trying these would be a great alternative.
      What do you wear, out of curiosity? Maybe you could help someone out who watches this.
