Don't attach your favourite artist's music to anyone. Sabrina's music was like the background sound of my relationship and when things were over I literally felt bad about listening to her songs cause they trigger sad memories. I am slowly getting back to listen to her again as I'm healing my emotional wound.. It's just crazy what abusive relationships make you go through..that even your favourite singer hurts you at some point....
This song does sound like the end of something, which in reveal is the album "Truth Is". My interpretation of the album was madness and romaticism. She finds herself battling with her insecurities, doubts, rumours only to be ignorant and finds herself obsessed in a relationship and at some point, she becomes jealous(Me In Her) and dangerously invested to an extent that 'she would take a bullet, even if it was him holding the gun'. She is brainsickly in love with a man who seems harmless, and the problem here being Sabrina(or the protagonist). But the 'reason' for this madness seems to be her own self-judgement and insecurities (On My Shoulders). Honestly, this is the best project from the singer. It has a thorough narrative.
