Great example of UK motorway lane discipline. Everyone wants the outside lane. L1 is safe, L2 is empty, but no one wants to sit in the middle lane. I for one want to see undertaking being allowed, avoids some of that poor lane discipline and opens up miles of unused motorway, cutting congestion and tailgating. Oh and while I'm on my soapbox, educate people that speed don't give em right of way, let's pull out to overtake when we need to, just like on the continent.
The dashcam driver needs some credit too, for clearly slowing down to create a gap. Whilst all the rest of the vehicles were showing their brake lights and getting closer and closer to one another.
Phantom traffic jam :-( Only one cause, and the cause of 80% of all traffic jams and and delays: only a fool breaks the two second rule. Driving too close to thr vehicle in front is the direct cause of billions of pounds of lost revenue and lost man-hours of work time, delayed deliveries, ecological polution and collisions causing thousands of injuries and many lives lost. If "tailgating" (not ludicrously too close, but less than 2 seconds, or longer in poor conditions) were viewed in this light, it would be a criminal offence in its own right and given as much social stigma as drunk driving, and until it is we will never ease the congestion on our roads. Only once did someone idiotically say to me "but if we drive too far apart in heavy traffic, the queues will be longer, there isn't enough space on the road" -- if everyone drove further apart and 5mph slower, the traffic would flow smoothly and they would be off the road before the next people wanted to get on! Stop-start-stop-start 80mph-20mph-90mph-10mph, average speen 45mph and high stress, or 55mph all the way and an relaxed drive getting there sooner than you could in a hury. No brainer, but can't be taught :-(
You are 100% positively exactly no question about it correct. Sadly about 90% of drivers think me me me me me me is all that matters, so nothing will change.
More like keep concentrating on what’s happening ahead of you, should be looking as far ahead as you can see, trouble is most people only look as far ahead as 10ft in front of their bonnet. That’s far more important than separation distance.
Hi, arecki20ag. Would it be possible to feature this video "M62 crash ( 2020.11.16 )" in the upcoming compilation on our social networks? Thanks in advance!
Hi arecki20ag,may I use this clip M62 crash ( 2020.11.16 ) in my compilation of dashcam clips?with credit (name on screen).any comment, update?location of the incident?
Far too many people drive too close to the car in front, I was traveling up the A1 on Saturday, following two other vehicles in the right hand lane while overtaking a HGV on the left when this absolute tool of a driver in an Audi undertook 2 cars behind me on the inside lane and cut me up just to gain a few yards. My car a new Volvo has all the safety stuff you could imagine and it jumped on the brakes nearly causing the cars behind to crash into the back of me. Why are there so many ignorant, impatient wankers on the road, and forgive me for being tarring people with the same brush, but The vast majority of then drive Audi's and other German cars. Maybe it's the mindset of those that buy them, who knows.
Why wasnt every car and van that was hogging the top lane sent back to driving school retraining ? LAW states Top lane is for overtaking only unless heavy traffic but as soon as you pass a vehicle move back over and not drive in the top lane , this clearly didn’t happen as can been seen , to many dangerous drivers on our roads that need taking of the roads
All they could have done is switch to L2 which was empty for miles and everyone can see that, but no they prefer to keep pressing on the brake and it takes someone to not concentrate for millisecond for an accident to happen. nice video
Great capture, such a shame that everyone is focused on that lane. Would you mind if I use this clip in a compilation video? I'd love to hear from you! I'll credit you of course!
NON of this drivers in the overtaking lane ( lane 3 ) needed to be there . They were overtaking NO ONE , and driving TOO close , that is why the RTC happened ! Stupid drivers . Why drivers hog lane 2 and 3 , when they are able to move to their left , I do not know . ( lack of though or training ) .
Why was nobody driving in lane 2 as usual ?? If people use the lanes correctly there's less chance of these shunts happening .If you haven't a clue what I'm on about .................jeeeeeeeeeeeesus .
Hello arecki20ag, is it possible to contact you regarding this video (i.e. via email)? We would be interested to discuss a license to use this video if this is generally possible to discuss? :) Cheers, Felix
it was a complete waste of time, especially when the crash happened barely on the bottom right corner of the screen and then along with the camera driver needing a new camera holder because it shakes too damn much & then, it not even happening until around 1:43! 😕

With nearly every vehicle in the same lane and pretty much all of em tailgating in the wet, well gee I wonder what might happen here?

keep enough space infront of you, always..

I knew there was gonna be a pile up in the fast lane because prettymuch everyone was in it and it was raining. Was bound to happen
Angus Jones no such thing as the fast lane
@@jameswilson8820 Pretty sure the outside lane belongs to BMW & Mercedes & Audi drivers. 🙈🙉🙊
Combination of failing to keep left and tailgating - so lack of discipline and impatience is the root cause.

This is why lane hogging is an offence.

J 21 M62 yesterday, no problem mate 😉👍
@@arecki20ag thanks
Its like that every evening at rush hour on that stretch of motorway.
Arecki, is it okay to use it please ? Credited of course. Thanks in advance.
Why did the camera truck stop? Was it hit? A long walk back to the crash site too.

Why do people insist on staying in the right lane when clear there was plenty of room in the middle lane? Stupidity, arrogance or ego?🤔

And nearly all were tailgating in the wet. Couldn't feel any safer !!
Obviously there’s invisible cars in the middle lane…. Dah

Hahaha, why are they all in the outside lane?
Whats wrong with the middle lane?

Why were all those cars in lane three anyway lane two was empty I know I would either have been in two or one in that situation

The reaction time is abysmal....someone was asleep almost...typical 3rd laner dozing..
I always like the way truckers stop
Why? It wasn't involved and caused more potential danger stopping on the hard shoulder. Bet you don't use that in your safety video!
Why did this truck driver pull on to the hard shoulder? It wasn't hit and made things worse@
Oh look. The middle lane id clear; so let's all lane hog and get bumper to bumper
near my junction. Heywood.

You get idiot in lane three that wont overtake just doesn't like to sit behind a lorry in lane two
01:43 you’re welcome

English roads ... correct the road, because my phone holder will break 😅🤣
People don't have a clue, 3 lanes and they all sit in the outside lane even though th inside lanes are empty same as hogging the middle lane.
Classic following too close
