Exciting to know about these incredible charging speeds. This should dispel much of the fear regarding slow EV charging speeds. As an American its sad to see China developing the most advanced EV tech, just as it was feared they would, because big oil and gas lobby's persuaded Republicans in Congress and MAGA influencers that green tech is BAD.
The issue is the distribution networks capacity to deliver that much current. The wires in the street simply aren’t big enough nor are the distribution transformers supplying the LV network. If everyone had an EV and charged it at the same frequency that people fill ICE cars with fuel the local distributor fuses would be blowing on a daily if not hourly basis. Solution is to install bigger cables and more transformers to supply those cables. Nothing a few trillion dollars can’t fix. I’m and EV fan but these speeds in Australia are an off in the never never.

Imagine if these cars were able to charge using 2 chargers simultaneously? Half the time. We'd be looking at < 5 minutes. And that is more than fast enough for the ICE boys to cry into their beers.
It’s not really needed honestly. A fuel stop that involves you filling it to the top, paying, browsing for a quick drink is already gonna be over 5mins.
In EU the only version (not quite) available is the Privilege AWD at €62,990 or $65,295 USD. I'm guessing about 20% of that is EU tariffs plus another 10% import fee. I really wish the EU would do away with the tariffs. They have all these climate goals and then sabotage them with tariffs on EVs. Doesn't make any sense.

How many of these superchargers would you need in a single city to cover all the demand needed? 100k+ chargers? That is just dumb. Swaping stations makes much more sense and its faster. Only 2-3 min to swap your battery to a +90% charged one. Way more convenient. And you dont have to worry about battery degradation

As you plug in yours you marvel at the sea of BEVs stretched out before you, huge numbers (it is 2030 after all). Then your smile fades, the "600 KW" charger isn't giving 600 KW. No, you are only getting 100 KW. What happened? Well, it turns out, to save massively on infrastructure upgrades, each 600 KW feed is distributed over 6 chargers - if all 6 chargers are in use, everyone's power drops proportionally. You realise your 6 minute charging stop will be more like half an hour. You nip off to have latte. By the time you return, a queue of angry frustrated drivers has formed behind you (it is 2030 after all, and nearly everyone has a BEV). You thank your luck stars you got in just before the rush. Welcome to the FUTURE.
Exactly. Sam does not mention EVER the real world which is the thing that at charging stations, there is always others which are charging as well. This means for example your full 1000KW charging capacity is shared to 4 or 6 different car or more. When EV's will be more popular you will not get the full potential charging speed "ever". It is always shared speed so the charging time is 20-60 minutes in future as well.

Well, in "real world", like this video says, almost 99% of chargers are unable to provide this charging speed (some are supposed to, but most of the time they don't), so this is clearly marketing for now.
what about the degradation? what is the lifespan? how much does it cost to replace and with the speed new batteries (versions/types) are being made what happens when a battery dies in a few years and you are stuck due to lack of compatibility issues with current batteries?
fast charging degrades batteries much quicker, my concern is the potential fire hazard and all the toxic fumes released into the atmosphere Ross landing is finding toxic soil quite some distance away after the fire 'untold environmental impact ' so much for zero emission's

Tesla can charge in about that time or just in 16 minutes fast charging and has thousands of existing chargers

Degradation is not actually much worse with supercharging. That is a myth that is being debunked.
