It’s to encouraging to hear I wasn’t the only one struggling to get into the new year mindset. I wasn’t ready to set resolutions or a word of the year.
How you described how you sometimes feel with so many thoughts running wild and just feeling overwhelmed and can’t even start describes me so well. I told my husband I feel like when your phone or iPad has way too many tabs open and it just slows it all down. Also, I love you sharing your heart and your trust in Jesus even when it all feels just hard. Pausing and saying a prayer for you at this very moment. Have a blessed day.
You and The Minimal Mom are my 2 favourite Channels. I also enjoy The Daily Connoisseur, Megan Fox Unlimited and The Secret Slob. I love how you are on a journey to focus on progress vs perfection and that you’re seeking to truly understand yourself in a compassionate, curious and self loving way as well as sharing your faith and love for Jesus. That has spoken volumes to me. You are a joy to watch and the way you look after and keep your beautiful home is an inspiration. ❤
We are a neurodivergent family. (3 ADHD and 1 ASD) As an ADHD mom I always feel like I have multiple tabs open in my brain at a time. I struggle with where to start sometimes but doing the 5x5 by the secret slob RUclips channel has been a game changer for me. Breaking things down is the way to go! It’s amazing what 5 minutes in a room can do!
@Fvckery Not Facts that is the term that is being used now to describe multiple neurological disorders. And it helps to have it as neurodivergent, it also sounds better and my children understand they have different needs with this term.
I have watched Dana at A Slob Comes Clean for just over a year now and she has helped me so much in getting my house under control. I found you recently and now you’re on my playlist!
😭😭 literal tears when you talked about your last year and learning to cling to Jesus and not trying to hold onto all control. He’s been teaching me the same thing over the last year. So thank u for sharing that. It made me feel less alone. 💕
I mostly watch/listen while tidying and doing chores. In addition to the decluttering trio of The Minimal Mom, A Slob Comes Clean, and Clutterbug, I'm a fan of That Awkward Mom.
The WADS, Clutterbug, The Minimal Mom, Frugal Fit Mom, Jen Chapin, Leaf like on a tree and you of course. I watch for 30 to 45 minutes before I go to sleep. I find that you all relax me and make me laugh so that I pop off to sleep with an eased brain from the days stress.🙂
I heard someone talking about New Years Resolutions and it really made sense to me: the middle of winter, when we are basically hibernating, is not a natural time to set new goals and take on a new mindset. It’s a time to rest. Spring, when change naturally comes, is a time that makes more sense to create the changes and new habits you want to incorporate into your life. I think this especially applies if you live in a place that has distinct seasons as well. Just a thought that I appreciated, and appreciated your voice in saying that you weren’t ready yet and that it’s okay ❤️
Normally I don't comment (but I watch all your videos!), but when you started talking about new years resolutions, that really spoke to me. Usually, I make some sort of resolution or goal at the new year, but this time, I felt so overwhelmed and frazzled that I didn't even make any or think about it until recently! It's nice to see I'm not the only one and I'm still working on figuring out what goals I want to achieve and trying to clarify it further before I set them. So, thank you Natalie, for sharing those thoughts & the motivation! 💛
I didn’t really set out to make New Year’s resolutions or even clear goals, but about that time I got past the morning sickness and really hit an energetic spot in this pregnancy. I’ve never felt so great in pregnancy before! I have so much motivation and I’m decluttering consistently, got back to budgeting and setting financial goals, and making clear plans and goals for what I want to accomplish before baby #3 comes. I’m loving this season so much. I’ve never felt so stable and safe when welcoming a newborn into our family. This is amazing.
I love Carissa Cleans it All! Her videos are so inspiring to me, it always gives me motivation to clean up my space. I usually sit down and watch RUclips, unless it's a theological type video I am mostly listening to, I can do that while I work. Otherwise it's too difficult for me to be visually switching back and forth, and I focus better in blocks of uninterrupted time (as uninterrupted as it gets with four kids under five 😋) I have ADHD, too, and whenever there's too much stimulus I get overwhelmed and stressed out. It's interesting how even those of us with ADHD have different needs and ways of coping with our symptoms.
First I just want to say thank you so much for the “progress vs perfection” attitude to decluttering. I realized I spent a whole year waiting for the time to take on these huge decluttering projects and never did anything because I have young kids and who has entire days to do that? But in the past few weeks I’ve done a little bit each day and accomplished so much. So THANK YOU!! Anyway, I love watching RUclips while doing chores or nursing my 5 month old 😊 Current favorites are Frugal Fit Mom and Laura Vitale!
I think I've said this before but I'm not a religious person. But can truly appreciate how you present your faith. You mention when it's important and you can hear how much it means to you without feeling like you are preaching at non believers if that makes sense. It's a beautiful balance. X
Thank you for talking about ADHD - when you mentioned it in the last video I was honestly floored. Not in a bad way of course - it's just, you and Angela (this gathered nest) are the only two RUclipsrs left that I watch. Because you are the only two I actually resonate with - because I have ADHD as well and so do you both. So thank you for talking about it and being real. Oh, and I actually watch your videos when I sit down to eat breakfast after dropping the kids off. I've found that a slow start to the day helps me and some "gentle encouragement" does too. ☺️
Dinner looked amazing! I turn on RUclips while doing chores or cooking. I mostly just listen to it. I enjoy Southern frugal momma, the minimal mom, this mamas house, frugal fit mom, and farmhouse on Boone. Love your videos each week, so encouraging and remind me that there's not a right or wrong way to do things, just do it. I appreciate you Natalie. Thank you! -Marlana
I also watch Kim when I need a laugh...she's always good for one. My favorite channel to watch is Old World Home. I love Hilary and her way of thinking and the way she does life. I'm mostly retired, so I mostly watch RUclips videos like I would a TV show.
Natalie... Thank you so much for all the great tips & intentional videos. I always learn something from you that helps my life or just makes me smile. Which proves the old CAN learn from the young. We all need each other! Love & prayers sweetheart! 💙 🙏
My mom and I have been doing word of the year for 4 years now and this year she chose discover and I choose capable I am so happy that my mom and I even living 1300 miles away can share something so significant and important together. Amazing video as always ❤❤❤
Your question about when/how we watch RUclips videos was a fun one, because it made me realize my RUclips habits have changed over the years. When my children were ALL little, RUclips kept me company while I folded laundry and washed dishes. Now that my children (at least half of them) are older and do those simple chores most of the time, I’ve found that I need my brain freed up from multitasking so I don’t get irritated at interruptions as I manage six kiddos through the day. My RUclips videos are now for my sit-down time, either while I linger over coffee on a slow morning or snuggle up with the baby on a slow evening. I only subscribe to favorite channels so I can watch most of their content whenever I have time. It has become more like a TV show for me, but MUCH more beneficial to my growth and mindset, considering I follow kindred spirits like you who help me continue to fine tune my skills in homemaking and living well. 🤍
Besides your channel, of course, I like watching The Minimal Mom, Jamerrill Stewart, The Farming Pastors Wife and then some crafters as well. I usually watch while folding laundry, washing dishes and sometimes just to relax before bedtime.
Kim is always a good time! She helps me get my life together so realistically. ❇️ I love watching gardening channels- some of my favs are The Impatient Gardener, Dig Plant Water Repeat, Roots and Refuge, Shes a Mad Gardener, and Garden Answer. Love your videos!
Hearing you talk about how your brain talks all the time is so validating. My mom says my brain is "always busy" which is a very kind way of thinking of it when I'm not feeling so charitable. 🙃 Some of my favorite channels to watch (aside from yours) are Rachel Maksy, XOMaCenna, Roots and Refuge, and DIYDanie - I do watch while working on something, but I also sit and watch like a show
I'm so thankful that I found you couple of years ago. You calm my soul everytime I see a video of you. You help me decluttering my house without getting stressed. You are so beautiful inside and out 😍 Some of your videos are on my favorite list so I can see it over and over again
I sit and watch RUclips videos. I have a lot of health issues and very little energy, so I spend a lot of my day resting and RUclips is one of the ways I occupy myself while I rest.
Not just you:) We took tree down not even a full week ago. I still want to put another simple faux one up with lights for the rest of winter. It was the first year I really felt like savoring the season for as long as possible XO
Natalie, I always enjoy your videos. Your home is so beautiful and your kids are getting so big!!! AMEN!!! TO OUR LORD being with us through it ALL!! God Bless you and your family!
💝💝💝 Me the same, kids are growing too fast. We can't return the time , but we can treasure the memories and enjoy the present time. And looking forward to the future with God's grace. May the Lord bless you all.
I love your RUclips channel, the Wads, Hannah’s happy home, Old world home and Farmhouse on Boone. Great motivation! I watch it while laying on the couch or for part of my quiet time. - Joanna ❤
I watch Living with Cambriea, Dear Debt, Erica Lucas, A hoarders heart, The Cottage Fairy, A to Zen life. I usually sit down and watch but sometimes I join in for decluttering or tackle the laundry while watching. That butter chicken looks delicious! 🍗
You truly are a great gentle motivator! How do you do that anyway??! You speak as someone who was mothered very well growing up. You just have that caring and nurturing yet resolute and grounded tone about you. Your children are blessed to now be mothered by you! Thank you for always sharing your life in a way that is also reaching out to others and mindful of their successes and failures. I think you really do make a lot of moms like myself feel “seen.” Wish I could be your friend in real life. Feel like we could chat for hours. Blessings to your family! ❤
I put all of my RUclips videos that I am going to watch and I save them for the weekend for when I’m doing all of my crochet, my knitting projects, laundry, cleaning all of that so there’s always some type of background noise and then will usually be watching those are listening to those after I finished and got caught up on all of my podcasts, but I love watching your channel. I also love watching Kimberly are the words I also like frugal fit mom and I do enjoy general Stewart with her large family.
I love Rachhloves and Rachhloveslife. She tries gadgets and recipes and also has makeup things. She’s such a positive person and her and her husband do cooking on her loves life channel and it’s hilarious. I watch while cooking and cleaning 😊
I usually watch videos when I am doing laundry or cleaning. Depending on the content. Thank you so much for all the uplifting heart to heart I needed that today. ❤
My fav channels are yours, Minimal Mom, Jessica Rose Williams, Kalle Flodin, Fairyland Cottage, Carrie Rad, and Living Big in a Tiny House. I watch while folding laundry and drinking tea in the evenings, which makes for a very calming time.
It’s so nice to hear that you have these feelings too! My mind is overwhelmed with so many things I have to do, should do and want to do that nothing gets done because I don’t know where to start. I am not diagnosed with ADHD but often feel that I could have it (would explain so much)! It’s just nice to know I’m not alone. I’ve also been feeling so sad this year for some reason. Christmas ending hit so much harder and I hated taking it all down. Another RUclips channel I watch for motivation is Jamie’s Journey when I just need to get cleaning.
Fav channels = Natalie, yours is #1 for me. I also like Slob Comes Clean, Minimal Mom, Clutterbug, This House (guy talks about the history, residents, and architecture styling of old houses, even ones that were amazing but destroyed long ago, mostly in USA, and he shows old photos of homes' exteriors and interiors. Very good!!), But First Coffee, Shea Whitney. Then of course my sons' favorite channels are on my phone: Hudson's Playground (which I really like watching the Gaming part of that channel with my kiddos), Evan Storm, and Kids Toys Play. I watch RUclips while getting ready and while cleaning kitchen after dinner. ❤😊
Just two favorite youtubers that immediately pop into my head to share are Allison Bickerstaff and Michelle Reed! Also I love enjoying my coffee in the morning while watching yt and also while I eat lunch!
My tree is still up! 😂 I feel the same way as you… I’m never ready to put Christmas away! I always keep up my fake tree (without ornaments), greenery and lights until about Valentine’s Day. It makes the winter evenings so cozy especially since it gets dark so early for so long! And, Natalie, YOU are my favorite RUclipsr! You are the perfect mix of gentle motivation and giving yourself grace in the midst of real life. I love how you do what’s right for you and not what everyone else is doing. Praying for you and your family as you go through your current trials. ❤️
I agree new beginnings doesn’t have to be new year only. I just had baby #5 so I’m watching RUclips when breastfeeding & doing dishes. Can’t wait for the next one ❤
I had the last two weeks of December off from work and the last week my husband and I both had off. And then we got a nasty cold. Between being off scheduled and sick, it took me almost two weeks into the new year to feel (physically and mentally) all there and ready for the new year. I'm just giving myself time to ease into this year and not expect too much. And it's working.
Channels I love…Simple Living Alaska, some amazing photography there, Girl in the Woods is another Christian RUclipsr, and I found you through Dawn, The Minimal Mom.
I just took my tree down last weekend. It was time. I kept out a couple of tree candles, plus added some cute birds with hearts on them for Valentines and a stuffed snowman. They will be put away by the end of February.
I love a fresh start. One of my favorite quotes is: "Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day. You shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense." Ralph Waldo Emerson
Hi Natalie, just had dinner and sat and watched you, funny enough reason I didn’t watch this afternoon was my cleaner was here and we took the rest of my Christmas decorations down including the trees, I was going to leave main tree up but as she was here we got it all done. Hubby needs to take the Christmas village down but that’s a major job in itself 😂. No I didn’t do a new year resolution, but we trust in our Lord that he knows what’s best for us and that’s better than any new year resolution. We just need to get trough hubby’s Chemotherapy and get him back in remission again that would be the best news ever. I’m sorry you have had things going on in your life behind the scenes and will keep you in our prayers. Always nice to see the children bless them and Weston too. Have a good week my utube friend xx
i love your channel. it's cozy, the little things are so beautiful in life, even if it's cooking a nice dinner. you inspire me! Jesus is our rock in everything. lots of love
I also love Kim at the wads!!!! I currently watch RUclips either when my 1 month old is up in the night to nurse or when I’m doing chores. Also when I make supper 😅
My birthday is in the beginning of September so I also feel more motivation in the fall rather than in January. Winter is for ‘wintering’ and hibernation.
As always, thank you!! It is honestly so much easier to start and do things around my house by watching and working alongside you. Body doubling at its finest! ☺️
You're my favorite youtuber 💕 I also love Kim, But first coffee, Julia Pacheco, Frugal fit mom, Brittany Vasseur and anyone doing diy home renovation stuff because we are getting ready to renovate! Also, I'm right with you with wanting to keep Christmas coziness up longer! We finally just took our down a couple nights ago. 😭😭 It's so sad and boring without it!
I mostly watch (listen to) RUclips during chores or my daily bath. I like having a variety of content. Some of my favorites are Wheezy Waiter, The Behavior Panel, Bernadette Banner, Cinema Therapy, How to Cook That, and Matt Orchard - Crime and Society. There's no way I get to everything they post, but I pop in to visit them regularly. Right now I'm recovering from surgery, so I'm doing all the sit down things I've been putting aside and getting lots of cleaning and decluttering motivating for when I'm well again.
Oh my gosh. You are the best inspiration for the new year. Been watching since you started your messy to minimal journey in your other home. I watch you when I drink my coffee and I too enjoy Kim she makes me laugh.
Your mantra of “Progress over Perfection” is what I am going to live by this year! The RUclipsrs I follow are ofcourse you, Kim, Allison bikerstaff, nicki positano, jonna jinton, and American viscountess is a new one! I work a full time corporate job so I usually see the vlogs when I am cooking or driving kids to their classes, while waiting outside the kids class in the evening, or weekends folding laundry, cleaning!
I used to watch RUclips as my Netflix but now my only “alone time” is when I work from home three days a week while my daughter is at daycare so on those days I binge will I work!! My favs are you, Sarah Therese (when she had her channel!), Milena Ciciotti, Stevie and Sazan and the Stewart Family!
You and Kim are definitely my favourite channels! Kim cracks me up and you are very calming, relaxing to watch and gently motivating. Off to set my 5 minute timer 😉💕
I watch while doing dishes or laundry, but I also like when I get the chance to sit down and watch like a show when I have some down time. Today I watched your video while I got ready for the day before taking my kids to the library! 🥰
I like to watch u tube for my downtime. So sitting down with a cuppa and usually as a treat after housework. Apart from watching u Natalie. I watch the Minimal Mom, Cas, Dana K White, Emily Norris , Jamie’s Journey and Gemma Bray. Love ur content ❤
Hey Nat, I'm your fan from Singapore and usually watch your YT when i'm doing chores and as a SAHM the chores are never ending so when I see you do chores it motivates me so thank you. Channel I love would be Tara Michelle, Allison Bickerstaff, actually got to know Allison from you, Gemma Louise Miles, Tiffycooks, With Love, Leena, Alyssa Lenore, cloudy hills, Amanda Asad and many more. 😍
Clutterbug, minimal mom, hoarders heart, Rachel Maksy, Megan Fox Unlocked, Men Try (so funny), The Daily Connoisseur, Karen Puzzles, and The Holderness Family are my main go to channels. Usually watching on the phone while doing something else, cleaning or crocheting most times. I'm trying to cut down, and have a good bit. Several of these have shorter videos, maybe don't post often, etc so it's not overwhelming when everything drops usually.
My favorite RUclips channels to listen/watch while cleaning/decluttering are yours..., dawn the minimal mom, Dana K white, and sometime Cas Clutterbug.
“Clinging to Jesus” - Amen! ❤ Thank you for this gentle motivation! I appreciate your videos and love to watch them while doing dishes or sorting laundry. Other favorite youtubers: The Minimal Mom, Cas - Clutterbug, Life in the Mundane and Simply Living It.
I like to watch videos first thing in the morning and then again at the end of my day. A few channels I love are Crystal Tara for decorating/family life, Trent and Allie for building/family, Acre Homestead for gardening/cooking and Lynette Yoder for decor/remodel/family life. And of course your channel too!
My favorite RUclipsrs are at Natalie Bennett, bit of Bri and Mindy minx the 3 of you are the best on here ❤ and I normally watch in the morning with my coffee or whenever I can 25:54
I was not feeling the New Year, I wanted to stay cozy forever! I still have some twinkle lights sprinkled through the house to combat the winter blues. Favorite channels besides yours are, Madisun Gray, The Minimal Mom, Minimom, Old World Home and Cambria Joy
The way you talked about your faith in this video was just perfect. Peacefully tiptoeing while being open and inviting is no small task. Well done!
I think that "Progress over Perfection" will be my motto for 2023 and beyond :) Thank you Natalie!!
“Gentle motivation” - that’s exactly what this was! So grateful for you, Natalie! Thank you!
It’s to encouraging to hear I wasn’t the only one struggling to get into the new year mindset. I wasn’t ready to set resolutions or a word of the year.
Same here...
You don’t have to! I’m starting to reset now, cause we have been sick.
You can always desite when you want to follow new resolutions 💪🏻
@@ikki4021 Same here! Two weeks before new year sick and 2 weeks after. It's been a rough month and nobody can tell me when to start!

@@DarkHumor42 it's the accepted psychiatric terminology... Not necessarily her wording.
@@DarkHumor42 so rude.
@@DarkHumor42 yikes
@Fvckery Not Facts that is the term that is being used now to describe multiple neurological disorders. And it helps to have it as neurodivergent, it also sounds better and my children understand they have different needs with this term.

Feels like I just had a chat with a friend. And it was such a comfort. Your words spoke to my heart. Keep clinging to Jesus, Natalie.
I’m one of the non-Christian’s viewers, but I don’t mind at all when you share from your heart 🥰 I always feel welcome here ❤️
Thank you so much, Helene! ♥️ I'm so glad you're here!

I needed this. I'm overwhelmed in EVERY area of my life that some days it's paralyzing! Thnks for the inspo!!! xoxo
Natalie thank you so much for being a safe place to learn tools to declutter and clean!❤️
I love your RUclips channel, the Wads, Hannah’s happy home, Old world home and Farmhouse on Boone. Great motivation! I watch it while laying on the couch or for part of my quiet time. - Joanna ❤
Thank you so much for the words of encouragement at 19:00… I cried 😭❤️
You are so welcome, friend! ♥️
You, the Wads and Moriah Robinson (specifically her life vlogs) are my go-to RUclips channels.
RUclips is my guilty pleasure. I watch after everyone has gone to bed. Beauty & the Beastons is a favorite. I also love Kim.
Beautiful mixing bowl. Love watching your videos.
It felt so good to see how much the kids, especially Haley, helped you take down the tree 💖
I'm not religious, but don't ever hesitate to share your love and gratitutide to the Lord.
LOVE this! Thanks for letting me be ME!!!
I use January to reflect and prepare my new year's goals. I start Feb. 1. But also do a lot of planning and goal-setting in August.
We are nothing without the Lord! Congratulations on your new couch!
Thank you for talking about your faith! I’m grateful for you.
I ADORE The Wads. she never ceases to make me laugh out loud! I also like to watch Angela Braniff
One of my favorite quotes is:
"Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day. You shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense."
Ralph Waldo Emerson
I watch you tube videos like a show! It's my relaxing time
Hi Natalie, just had dinner and sat and watched you, funny enough reason I didn’t watch this afternoon was my cleaner was here and we took the rest of my Christmas decorations down including the trees, I was going to leave main tree up but as she was here we got it all done.
I felt the same way when I homeschooled. I stopped and feel like I got my life back together again. It’s been amazing.
Whether I’m homeschooling or not, my ADHD brain is always on the move!
Amen sister! Praise the Lord for all he has done and will do in our lives and most of all for sending is son to die for us ❤️
The wintery pillows are so cute! I normally don’t like throw pillows…at all, however, those are cute. 💕
Thank you for this gentle motivation! I appreciate your videos and love to watch them while doing dishes or sorting laundry.
Other favorite youtubers: The Minimal Mom, Cas - Clutterbug, Life in the Mundane and Simply Living It.
I specifically started watching this video to get some cleaning motivation but I don't watch and clean at the same time. I watch first and then clean.
I am glad you're just taking down your Christmas things . I love Christmas and keep mine up till mid January and wish others would too
My favorite RUclipsrs are at Natalie Bennett, bit of
Bri and Mindy minx the 3 of you are the best on here ❤ and I normally watch in the morning with my coffee or whenever I can 25:54
I was not feeling the New Year, I wanted to stay cozy forever! I still have some twinkle lights sprinkled through the house to combat the winter blues. Favorite channels besides yours are, Madisun Gray, The Minimal Mom, Minimom, Old World Home and Cambria Joy
I totally understand you with adhd all or nothing type days are real. I like how you said that. Great vlog. Thank you for the encouragement 🙏
Natalie thank you so very much for creating content online! It is so inspirational!
resolutions are meant for march... spring start fresh n clean
