    I am sooo happy to have a Christian-response to this Grapevine episode. I was very disappointed at the believers sitting at the table. I was expecting them to have a better grasp of this phenomenon taking place.

      Indeed. Have you heard of a gentleman by the name of Dr Vince L. Bantu? If not check him out on RUclips or Google him . He also has a book out called a multitude of all peoples: Engaging ancient Christianity's global identity

    This was a very thoughtful video. This discussion between Afrikan spirituality and Christianity is much needed in these trying times. Thank your for this.

    You had a guest who made a point of documenting the Romanization of Christianity at the expense of what the culture would bring to the faith...Egypt, Ethiopia, Syria, and the East are but a few that were not in total agreement with Rome...

      @@asemibase3697 I reference Dr. Vince Bantu...he speaks of disagreements, culturally related, such as similar or same substance (homoiousias, homoousias),or Miaphysite and Chalcedonian factions; I would say the Word was made flesh which constituted the other half of the complete set of chromosomes required to have human life; but surely God communicated with these people
      ...everything they discerned spirituality could not have been wrong...although the knowledge associated with the coming of Christ would possibly clarify Truth associated with some beliefs...the Holy Spirit did not go just to Rome...

    The two are fundamentally incompatible! You gotta choose which God you serve. Uchechi articulates a fundamental issue with Catholicism. These compromises re saints misled me grossly!

      Why can't the Supreme God in African religion be the same as the Supreme GOd in the Christian religion but just given a different name? No one wants to entertain that.

    • @KiRetteCouture
      @KiRetteCouture 3 года назад +4

      @@veronicahaney6005 Because they are simply not the same. The Christian faith is very clear about how this thing works. There is Jehovah, Creator of the universe, a triune God and the ONLY mediator to get to Him is Jesus Christ on account of His dying for the sins of humanity on Calvary (watch Derek Prince videos on The Atonement on RUclips to understand why this matters). African religions like many others are usually polytheistic and although they may profess a supreme god, they are different and tend to have mediators varying from smaller gods to other spirits. Also Jehovah is the only true God and He demands worship of Him alone. Also, in christianity, salvation comes through faith in Jesus rather than being earned by works. A fundamental difference between Christianity and other beliefs.
      Many African faith systems believe in reincarnation. Christianity doesn't. Such fundamentally different systems could not come from the same deity.

      @@KiRetteCouture there is only one god, but there isn’t any religion that God is confined to. ALL religions have criminally distorted who and what God is. God and religion don’t have anything to do with each other.
