- I simply wanted to thank everyone who has troubled to watch my videos over the past year or so - and to wish all a happy Christmas, or whatever you might celebrate at this time of year. The kindness of people has been overwhelming, and I truly appreciate it. I have added a small whimsical story I have created in the past few days, in the hope of making people smile a little in these difficult days! Again, thank you to my many friends here, and I hope 2021 will be a much easier one for us all... :)

A brilliant story! Thinking of brainless old cat ladies. my uncle was once visiting one and she confided that her cat was expecting kittens. This was a tremendous mystery, as her cat never left the house. After some minutes, a male cat sauntered through the room. My uncle pointed out this animal as a possible culprit. The lady fixed him with a look of disdain and said, "Of course not! That's her brother!".

Absolutely top notch story. I think the real culprit was Macavity. Macavity, Macavity there's no cat like macavity, there never was a creature of such deceitfulness and scravity. He's the bafflement of Scotland Yard, the Flying Squads despair, for when they reach the scene of crime Macavity's not there.

The story takes me back to when we were kids and got into the neighbor's house for a drink of water getting access through the Dog Door. Amusing story- that put a smile on my face=thank you

Aw....thank you and Merry Christmas to you and yours too. The mystery of the cream, which has baffled you, must, I fear, remain a mystery. Unless you think some other, unknown, intruder forced dear Simba to devour the cream, which could account for his later illness......just a shot in the dark of course....

This is the most mystifying case yet! It was made so clear, if not somewhat terrifying, by the vivid illustrations! I'm so relieved that the purr-pitrator did not harm either Simba or the neighbor tabby cat in commission of this heinous crime!

You remind me of my dad who was a great story teller with a marvelous sense of humor. He was an American Studies professor, an amateur actor, and an unbeatable Clue player.

You have preemptively and brilliantly parodied your own style which is a creative defensive maneuver. The only historical analogy I can come up with is Hemingway in some of his later work. Wodehouse, of course was a meta-parody.
There were so many lapidary lines, I couldn't write them down fast enough. Popping through the cat-flap like a celebratory cork is a splendid simile and the only one I can now extract from my febrile scrawling.
In describing the sexual semiotics of semi-permissively purloined underwear and the quirks of female psychology that would resist the humour and idiosyncratic charm of a man in his underwear furtively licking cream off the kitchen floor, you reveal the qualities of a born romance novelist.

Hahaha! Many thanks indeed, Robert! You know I was struck several times as I was putting this video together with the spirit of Wodehouse there. It was perhaps natural that I should go in this direction, because the previous week I write a murder story with the intention of attaching it to a Christmas good wishes, but then realised that it would be impossible for me to read a story which ends so terribly, with "Oh and by the way Merry Christmas everyone!" I had to abandon the murder story and start again, choosing the most unbelievable, trivial matter that would not jar with the Christmas theme... @@TheyGotAwayWithMurder Taking a break from boring my niece and nephew, I thought I might bore you with some Wodehouse trivia as you are clearly a fan and a creative descendent. He was instrumental in developing the competent authority international tax system that has served us moderately well for 80 years or so now.
He made large sums of money on both sides of the Atlantic (one of his Anglicized Cole Porter adaptations was: "when maiden aunts begin to chuckle at tales too near the knuckle then, heaven knows") and in the 1930s, as rates started to ratchet upward, he received large tax bills from both the IRS and Inland Revenue. He footed the substantial bills for highly skilled lawyers to essentially improvise the system we have (I won't say "enjoy" precisel now where a rational scheme allocates payments and credits based on the creative and marketing nexus for the revenue.
He made $1000 per week as a Hollywood screenwriter and then thousands more selling journalistic pieces in the UK poking fun at Hollywood for overpaying him. His books sold briskly in both markets. Sadly the German broadcast kerfuffle kept him cooped up in Long Island for the last 25-30 years of his life. But he is a hero of lawful tax avoidance and anyone who enjoys multinational cash flows owes him a debt of gratitude. Not exactly Spartacus but heroic in his subdued way.
