It's fucked up how the gunplay in this game is so fun and even the story isn't that bad anymore, yet it's completely held back by the worst monetisation model in any remotely popular game ever regardless of how fun the gameplay is. Destiny to me is the epitome of wasted potential, it could and should have been huge without Bungie's unrivaled greed.
@@jessewhite2734 don’t forget seasons and dungeon keys destiny being a free game doesn’t automatically negate their greed since they very obviously are greedy
Mainly because they have to directly tie into the next expansion. Like wish lead straight into tfs perfectly. I hope heresy does the same here and manages to play into frontiers.
I have a theory, of course we go back to the dreadnought to pilot it and go out to find riis with eris and Eramis, but xivu arath is actually at the dreadnought trying to collect essence of oryx so she can make him whole again! Of course we disrupt her plan and challenge her, until it ends up in the episode finale where we have a full on savathûn level boss battle against xivu, we don't kill her, but we weaken her, so she flees and hacks the dreadnought system leading it and us to crash down on a new planet! Leading to the next expansion "Destiny 2: The God of War"
WE didn't make them "scrabbling insects" they came here attacked us and found out the hard way we dont mess around with defending ourselves. This was her one out to leave on decent terms and she still spewed disrespect on the way out....shame when the hive show up for her echo and she screams for help and we dont show up.
@@alfred265 Earamis is an object lesson on the dangers of giving into a dark emotion that the algorithm won’t let me speak of directly. Some would rather rule in Hell than serve in Heaven….
Idk how yall don't see how realistic her insane bias is, entire populations of people think the way she does. It's a matter of trauma maladaption, blaming the wrong sources, never dealing with the stress correctly, I'd say her bitterness is the most realistic of any antagonist.
@suruxstrawde8322 The issue is more so that we don't just shoot her in the head and be done with it already. I think it's a very realistic villain, and people like her, you can only help for so long. Difference between her and people nowadays is it's harder to do something on a galactic scale irl. In game? She just needs plot to smile on her once. So the reason our guardian who knows damn well how much of a theat someone like her CAN BECOME yet we don't pop her is infuriating.
Rasputin has so much potential in other stories and dlcs, but chose to kill him off for no reason after all the build up in that dlc, all for nothing, the same with Amanda too, so yeah
I dont know if I agree or if im missunderanding, seraph season is one of my favorite with splicer and a witch. I recall seraph as it was a huge stalemate with xiv arath would take the tribute of warmind to empower her, so she could launch a full own assualt through the ascendent plane as happened with teraboutl, and at the same time erimis worked in the shadows and tried to hack the satellites to take out the traveler by brute force. there was multiple reasons for rasputin to die, eremis, xivu arath, rasputin also guarded neptune(the witness tried to use scorn to find knowledge about the veil in those bunkers, and the lightfall with the veil veil veil veil veil? which was very important(silly)! I think seraph played very nicely and is probably the first it got emotional since cayde died.
Okay so this is the Last word and Thorn lore. Shin Malphur (The man with the golden gun) is currently still active and killing any guardians that follow in dredgen yor's foot steps while also posing as a dredgen himself. At least that is as far as we know.
Its gonna be skolas, I'm assuming it'll be a alt mode of prison of elders like in d1 where he's actually hard to kill, could probably be pseudo dungeon like,
Destiny biggest flaw is that it always could’ve been a great game but sadly mishandled by bungie with its locked content/ run it back (call it new) content, constant buggy resets, using players and content creators as QA testers or to explain the story, very very mid to no cinematics to pivotal moments ( remember it’s a multi-million dollar company!), and the anti-cheat….yeah let’s just say other companies new what they had in their hands and knew how to let it grow to fruition.
I'm not expecting buddy buddy, but you can see her building up to some sort of redemption. Then she just comes in like a diagnosed psychopath or compulsive liar and just spews what's convenient for her and accuses us of "turning her species into the crawling insects of today." You know. On our own freaking planet that we've been reduced to a single major city on. Idk if it was a push to get the story done. I understand resentment, but it felt so back-and-forth for her last few comments before the end of this act... it just kind of comes off as childish and annoying. And we're to trust her with an Echo?
Eramis is a conclusion but I also think that her ending is a possible future. If we leave the sol system in a future destiny update we could find the new eliksni home world
Def a huge problem w the game I’ve had is how none of the enemies actually die I mean either do allies except like a couple. Over 10 years how’s that good story telling. It’s stupid. Kill off characters and write new ones to take their place it’s narrative 101 push the effing story
They didn’t fulfill the kell of kells prophecy from house of rain. Mithrax being called kell of kells has no substance to it, nothing more than fikrill being Kell of kells if he killed Mithrax and Eramis. Really unsatisfying.
I find it funny that we chose the same weopen (sunshot) for this activity. I chanfed out your fusion primary for the autoloading burst grenade launcher( forget the name).
I'm personally debating whether this was worse than Lightfall for me. Nez'cafe is personally my least favorite character in all of Destiny. Seeing any of him is always a negative for me. Being forced to release Eramis was also a miss for me. A little hard to get invested in her character when she's consistently stupid. She also came way to close to being made Kell of Kells for comfort. We still have the three major Eliksni dividing lines anyway, so what even changed?
How many times are we gonna fight skolas???? Like seriously he's a boss that always comes back not even oryx has come back. And they been a pain the crill
This is the only time skolas has come back. I don’t count the nightmares because its technically not him. And if you do count that you got to count the oryx’s vestige in reckoning. kellgorth and Tanik are the only ones to repeatedly return
Shoulda had a nightmare realm mission or something about dealing with the burgeoning parasitic clone of Nezarec feeding on him.. coulda been like the one with callus.
Thank you Evaze for the positive videos. Feels like negativity around every corner of this game and its nice to see content with a glass half full attitude. Keep up the good work and thanks again!!
I really liked how we received actual endings to the threads that were discussed. All the main speaking characters had a wrap up and some long hanging threads were tied off.
That's great and all, but it's impossible for me to get my friends into the game because they don't understand the story. They need to unvault the original content to get new players on board. New players don't want to watch several hours of videos to understand what's going on in the world. The new player experience is one of the biggest things holding Destiny back.
I’m excited to watch this video, but I actually want to play the content instead of YouTubing the story stuff this time! I for sure need to check back to this video because you always have great analysis of the story
I still don't understand why eramis teamed up with the witness after beyond light Didn't the witness give us (the guardian/eramis' enemy) stasis as a bribing method? And didn't eramis get frozen by a malfunction of her own stasis gadget? I thought the witness only used her to get to us and after we refused he froze her
It's heavily implied It had her on a leash of sorts. It freed her from her stasis prison and basically demanded her subservience in exchange for said freedom. After she failed in Plunder, It allowed Xivu Arath to descend upon her House and turn members of Salvation into Wrathborn, and we also see it turning Praksis into Scorn, so it's likely that the Witness was going after Eramis' people because It knew that was what would hurt her most; At the end of Plunder, where Misraaks has his blades against her throat, a lorebook reveals she genuinely wanted Misraaks to kill her - Her demands for him to do so were not just jabs to try and get under his skin. She's had very little regard for her own life, and the only thing she cares about really is her people.
5:56 that's not animosity. That's understandable. You forget what Saint did. You forget what we did. Yes we were defending ourselves, but we slaughtered them. We didn't arrest. We slaughtered. She just wants to go home man. At least she doesn't want to blow us up. Because she feels sympathetic for us too; literally by saving our ass multiple times. And warning us. She has no animosity towards us. She just wants to go home. Some eliksni will stay, because they love the humans. But most will go, because they all want to see Riis Reborn again
By the way, D1 got an update so you might wanna make a video to do with that. Edit: I'm just seeing now that you already made a video so act like this comment isn't here.
I personally enjoyed episode 2. Yes I know Bungie is experimenting with how the content is done but I'm willing to sit back and let them try things. Some will be good and some will be bad. Revenant was an improvement imo and I believe heresy will give bungie another chance to expand on things with this new model.
